Telenovela Recommendations

Watching television in Spanish is a great way to learn the language! If you’re trying to find a good telenovela to watch, here are my personal favorites. If your’re curious about any of the plots, wikepedia would most likely provide a better summary of the show than me.

1.) Avenida Brasil: This is a Brazilian telenovela, however it is dubbed in Spanish as well. From what I know, Dailymotion has the telenovela online in both Spanish and Portuguese dub. 

2.) La Querida del Centauro: You can watch the first season on Netflix and currently the second season is airing on Telemundo. Telemundo Now has the episodes for the second season.

3.) La Reina del Sur: This is a very well known novela from 2011. You can find it on Netflix!! Kate del Castillo is so badass in this.

4.) La Guerrera: You find the episodes on YouTube if you look the novela up!

5.) India- una historia de amor: Omg I will never forget this novela. It was my absolute favorite. It’s a Brazilian one (I know, I watch too many of them). It was from years ago and sadly I do not know where you can find it. But if you happen to get lucky then yay!!

6.) El Clon: The Brazilian version, not the one Telemundo did lol. I remember watching this one with my mom when I was younger (having a Latina mom= lots of novelas). Not sure where you can find this one sorry :(

7.) Contra el tiempo: This used to air on the Mundomax channel, but I’m not sure where you can find it now. It’s a Colombian telenovela. 

8.) Club de Cuervos: This is a Netflix original. 

9.) La Niña: On Netflix!!!!! 

10.) Narcos: On Netflix

11.) Ingobernable: Another Netflix original show featuring the talented Kate del Castillo :)

12.) Las chicas del cable: A Spanish Netflix original show.

 These are all I can come up with so far, but I’ll continue adding more as I start to watch more. Hopefully this was somewhat helpful.
