"Y' shouldn't be 'ere." Warning words, and a dagger at the ready just in case the stranger decided to ignore her harsh tone.

FBI. Chidie wasn't really in the best position legally, but she certainly hadn't killed anybody. Besides, she doubted that it would be the FBI that would chase her up for simple theft.
"I don't know anythin'," she answered. "Y' probably know more than me."
"FBI. And I was told I could find information on the case around here" Will spoke timidly, unsue whether his words would provoke anything from her. She seemed resolute and indifferent to the case. That didn’t leave Will in a good place.

She shook her head. "Can't say I do." She was never too informed in such matters, and only learned things every now and again by overhearing people's conversations as she walked through the streets.
"Ya with the police or somethin'?" she asked, almost curious.
Will swallowed before he made any attempt to speak to her. She didn’t seem interested, yet he needed to ask. “Do you know anything about the recent deaths in the area? Three dead men around the ages of twenty and thirty five?”

"Where're y' from?" she questioned, almost dazzled by what she had said. Chidie knew, once upon a time, that music had come from the heart and soul, but not anymore. As long as a musician could make enough money to earn a living, it was good enough. Granted, some songs were more meaningful than others, but most of them were the same to the listener anyway.
Chidie sighed. "Music's music. Doesn't matter if it's from the heart 'nd soul or not, as long as people enjoy it."
Y'okay?
She scrunched her nost up a little bit, her glance shifting over to the other girl’s and shaking her head a little bit. “Where I’m from, music is something that come from the heart and soul,” she explained to the girl “it’s hard to explain, but it’s true.” she said “Kind of like sea shantees are beautiful, but nobody can really appreciate them because it comes from the soul.” she shrugged her shoulders, she was sure that she sounded daft to the woman, but she didn’t much care.
It was always her view on music due to being an Elf, and there wasn’t anything she could change about that. “Sorry- I get on these tangents and don’t really stop.” she laughed and bit her lip.

She truly enjoyed the company of dogs, even when they attempted to lick at her. Sure, it wasn't the thing she enjoyed most about them, but just knowing that they were around was better than nothing.
"Chidie," she introduced, not saying another word on the matter. What could have normally be seen as some kind of rudeness could pass as nothing more than distraction with the dogs that were attempting to gain her attention, though it didn't matter to her as to whether or not the woman (who she now knew as Alana) believed for her to be rude or distracted.
She watched as the woman leaned down to pet the dogs, watching how it seemed that her the entire air about her changed. She was smiling from ear to ear, and some of the dogs were even trying to lick her. Alana let out a small laugh, pleased to see that she was enjoying the dog’s company.
"I’m Alana by the way." she said, taking a stick from one of the dogs who walked up to her, and threw it into the distance. Watching, waiting for the dog to return to her.

"That's a lotta dogs," she observed. She wasn't too fussed by it - it was his decision to keep so many dogs.
She looked up to the man, continuing to feel the dog's soft fur beneath her fingers. "Must be good company." She did wonder how one person would go about looking after so many dogs - it would be more than difficult.
He hesitated, not sure at first if he should answer the question honestly. People tended to think the number of dogs he had was extensive.
"I have seven more at home." What’s the worst that could come of telling a stranger on the street? Will doubted she would point and laugh.

"Maybe y' should do it more often," she suggested. It was nothing more than a friendly suggestion, and she knew that it wouldn't be possible to look after another person's pets all the time. At least she would get used to them that way.
"Thanks," Chidie smiled back, kneeling down and letting the dogs sniff at her until they felt comfortable with the stranger, at which point she began to pet them.
Something that was uncommon was a smile plastered on Chidie's face, refusing to come off. It was what the dogs gave her. They were friendly creatures, with only the intention to become friends and cause no harm, nor did they judge people. Perhaps it was part of the reason she enjoyed their company so much.
Alana nodded and laughed “Yeah, it is—” she paused for a moment, regaining her footing and balance, “especially since this is my first time being a pet sitter, and I never had any of my own since I was just little.” she told the woman.
She then smiled and nodded again. “Yeah, of course go right ahead. They’re all really friendly, just— hard to handle together.” she shrugged her shoulders and then laughed.

"Fish're kinda plain," Chidie replied. She wondered as to why the other female had sighed, though she had decided to let it go. "There's nothin' interestin' to sing about 'em." She would be slightly impressed if somebody could create a good song about fish.
"Not all th' music they play on the radio is bad," she stated. "Some of it's good. Depends on what ya listen to, I guess."
Y'okay?
She thought for a moment, she wondered if there was an Elvish song about fish? She highly doubted it, perhaps the Hobbits in the shire were more apt to have a song about such a thing, but she shook that thought quite promptly and let out a small sigh. It wasn’t directed at anything or anybody, sometimes it just felt good to sigh.
"I think I’d rather hear a song about fish than half the trash they play on the radio— don’t you agree?" she laughed a little bit, but she was quite serious. This was something that she hadn’t thought about until now, but it was true.

Chidie placed her elbows upon her legs and her head in her hands, watching the lake, as though expecting  the fish to begin taking to the skies, and as though that were an everyday occurrence.
"Probably is," she answered. "There're lotsa songs. Even if it ain't in English, there'll be a song about 'em somewhere." Chidie looked over to the other female for a moment and gave her a small smile before looking back out to the lake. "I'm sure it's not literal though."
Y'okay?
Jòdéna began to swing her legs ever so slightly, lifting her knees up so that her feet didn’t hit the ground. She felt at peace right now, which honestly did her worlds of wonders. She had felt an angry burst getting ready to show it’s ugly face, and she was doing her best to keep it intact, and this was helping substancially.
"Plenty of fish in the sea— I think there’s a song about that, if not there should be." she stated almost as though she were having a small revelation at the moment.

"Y' got other dogs?" she asked, though it was more of a statement than anything. Perhaps the plural wasn't the right thing to use - he could have simply had the dog she was currently petting and a corgi back at his place of residence.
"Least she's happy to see ya."
"Strays are never easy, but they’re always worth it." Will pretended he was only talking about dogs.
"My corgi likes to bite on my work shoes and knock things over, but you should see how happy she gets when I come home." You should’ve seen how broken she was when I found her in a box on the side of the road.

Chidie looked out upon the water for a moment, having noted that her company had sat herself down upon the park bench. The lake's water was slightly murky, though it was clear enough to see the fish swimming near the lake's surface. It was still swimming in circles, just as it had been when Jòdéna had initially noticed it.
"If there's one then there's gotta be more," Chidie answered, sitting herself by Jòdéna. "I'm sure there're plenty of fish in there."
Y'okay?
"Excellent!" She exclaimed, dropping the woman’s hand lightly and sat down on the bench she had been neglecting to sit on, due to her sheer excitement about watching the fish. It fascinated her that they were- in a sense, like puppies who lived in water, and were much more fearful of people. Although, she never blaimed animals for being fearful of people, they could be so cruel and disgusting.
She decided to stop thinkning about how awful the human race was, because every time she started thinking about that, bitter thoughts about her kin and homeland came flodding back.
She cleared her throat and smiled at the woman. “Are there a lot of fish in there do you think?” she asked her, looking out over the water.

She bent down next to the dog who was already seeming quite friendly - while it was usual for anybody to allow the dog to sniff their hand first, the dog was happily sniffing at her even without her extended hand. Chidie put her hand upon the dog's head, petting him happily.
"Must've been difficult," she observed, looking back to the man for a moment before back down to the dog. "Least he's not so shy anymore."
Will smiled, thinking about his home with eight dogs curled up.
"They definitely are." He didn’t tell how many he had, knowing the usual response was not oh cute.
"He’s good with people, so go ahead." He released a bit more of the leash so Winston could move closer, sniffing at her happily. "He was pretty shy when I first found him, real timid, but he’s a lot better now."

She allowed for Jòdéna to repeat her name. Chidie supposed that it was simply to help her remember. She didn't think that her name would be as difficult to remember as Jòdéna's, but that wasn't of too much concern. If she couldn't remember the name of her new acquaintance, then Chidie could only hope that she wouldn't be offended.
After a moment of hesitation, Chidie took Jòdéna's hand and shook it in a manner that she knew would have been friendly.
"Sure," she replied, giving Jòdéna a small smile.
Y'okay?
"Chidie." she repeated, her lips curving up into a small smile. She then repeated the woman’s name a few times and looked directly at her, and extended her hand. "It’s real nice to meet you, care to watch the-" she paused for a moment, and tried to stiffle a laugh, "the fish, with me?" she asked her.
She didn’t usually get along overly well with females, they often found her threatening and didn’t want to take the time to get to know her, but she was happy this one was different, it was quite refreshing really.

Cute name for a cute dog, she thought.
"Wish I did," was her response. "They're good company."
She thought of the dog that she had cared for briefly; while it hadn't been hers, the happiness it brought her was more than she had felt at any other point in her life.
"Mind if I pet 'im?"
Will would have been bothered by her lack of eye contact and acknowledgement had he been anyone else, instead he appreciated it. He didn’t often talk to random passerby’s, but the topic of conversation pleased him. “His name’s Winston, found him on a street close to here a couple months ago. Do you have any?”

That was an odd name, though she really couldn't be one to judge - her name wasn't overly common, either.
"Chidie," she responded simply. It was a much better first impression than their previous one.
This new acquaintance of her was somewhat strange, but at least she seemed friendly enough.
Y'okay?
She laughed, a bit louder than she meant to and then began to nod her head in agreement. “That sounds like a plan if I’d ever heard one.” she said to the woman, very happy that she brought up that idea.
"My name’s Jòdéna- just so you know." she smiled, "What’s yours?" Jòdéna had already decided that she liked the girl very much, she was sweet and polite, and kind of spoke like those pirates did on the tele. It made her happy.

"Cute dog y' got there." She only bothered to glance at the man, more so preoccupied with the canine than the owner.

"Nowhere that you'd wanna be, I'm sure," she replied almost glumly, though her curiosity was more recognisable in her voice.
It wasn't the nicest of places, and while this man seemed worse for wear, she knew that even he wouldn't want to be in such places.
"Y' should know where y' are. You're the one that got yourself here."
Will blinked, and suddenly, he was somewhere else. The wind was cool against his skin, and he certainly wasn’t prepared for it; he wasn’t wearing his jacket. The question lulled him out of his slight daze. Though he didn’t answer, instead responding with a question of his own. “—Where am I?”
