SUPERMAN 2025 SPOILERS BELOW

I loved the Supergirl cameo so much

First, Krypto being referred to as a “foster situation” was so fucking funny. I thought they were just gonna say that he was Kara’s or something, so when they didn’t i wasn’t sure if we were going to get a Supergirl cameo or not. It made it a lot more rewarding when we finally saw Kara stumbling in at the end of the movie, calling Clark a bitch and stumbling out. She goes and gets drunk and partys on planets with red suns? Oh hell yeah. She’s a mess and i love her.

Having to deal with your entire planet being blown up and all of your friends and family dying is not an easy thing, and i love that they are making Kara messy and a girl failure*. I feel like a lot of versions of her try to make her this model Kryptonian, but she was young when she had to leave Krypton so it makes sense for her to not be this perfect soldier. MAWS Kara is a good version of having this “perfect” kryptonian soldier who is still learning how things work, and is lonely and needs support. I feel like this new Supergirl is going to be a good balance of messy and successful, and i am HERE FOR IT

I read Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, I didn’t read it, it really is good. And based on True Grit!

The art is also gorgeous. As is the themes!

Supergirl is always the one who lives and always the one who witnesses, and there is a bitter tragedy in that, in a way not even Clark can’t share.

ok so i was a little uncertain seeing milly as supergirl, because when i think of a live action supergirl my mind says “melissa benoist” and it’s hard for me seeing someone else portraying her

but when she came in for like a minute all the doubts i had vanished, she embodied supergirl so well that my eyes were tearing for the joy and excitement GIVE ME THAT SUPERGIRL MOVIE NOW

for example: when krypto plays with clark he looks like he’s pain and telling him to stop, meanwhile kara was laughing and enjoying being thrown on the ground and that’s so supergirl of her

(+ i’m italian so i watched the dubbed version of the movie and they kept melissa’s italian voice actress for milly, so when i heard her it felt so natural to me)

Did I develop an obsession with Eve Macarro? Yea I did.

Did I watch the movie 4 times in the cinema? Absolutely.

Did I watch it when I released on digital? Yep and replayed the ice skates part way too many times.

Ballerina (2025) thoughts:

I think it's a solid action movie, has great pacing (once we get past the childhood backstory setup it's action almost non stop and it never decays), awesome and fun fight sequences... yeah, this movie catered to my interests so well.

Is the story good? I don't even care, it gets the job done, we're here for the action, and it gives it enough of a setup that I don't need anything else.

Also Ana de Armas with all the armas (badum-tsch!) and looking cool af using anything she could find that was not a weapon as a weapon??? Chef's fucking kiss. And wearing the suit jacket? Or that overcoat? Showing the back tattoos? Uhm excuse me ma'am, I am looking respectfully. The costume department fed me so well.

Mild spoilers:

- The story acknowledgeding that she's smaller and needs to fight dirty and then her character using ANYTHING she could find around as a weapon, including ice skates? Super fun and justified in-universe to boost.

- The plate smashing bit? Hilarious. The timing of that fridge door opening? Had me in tears.

- The flamethrower battle from the trailers was awesome, but it's only my second favorite sequence.

- 20/10 the usual "gearing up" getting a twist and being interrupted, with Eve going for the only ready to use weapons she could find, because who has time to find ammo? And those weapons being FUCKING GRANADES??? One of the most creative and fun action sequences I've seen. Like, ever.

There were also some very specific moments I was happy to see:

- Training montage is one of my favorite tropes, loved that part!

- Ritualistic tattooing as the "graduation" yes, thank you

- Main character tending to their wounds? Always a nice detail I appreciate too

I'd love some fanfics with this character because there's so much potential for juicy character bits that the movie couldn't focus on!

I'm not sure if the movie would do well enough at the box office to get a sequel but I'd also love that xD I think it would deserve it and I do recommend seeing it in the big screen because it's a lot of fun.

Ballerina spoilers below the cut!

The way the echoing of bullets signifies Eve’s start and end in several chapters of her life.

The first gunshot she ever fires, to save her father (the side of the Kikimora to protect, since she viewed her father as innocent), echoes, signifying her entry into this world of violence her father until that point had managed to shield her from.

The gunshot during her final test echoes (a neutral side, the woman both part of the world but also innocent in a way), signifying her entrance into the world of the Ruska Roma’s dealings in assassinations and protections.

And finally, the echoing gunshot as she kills The Chancellor (the side of the Kikimora to kill), signifies the end to her hunt for vengeance, and perhaps the start of her attempt to leave behind this life (she’s possibly burnt bridges with the Ruska Roma forever)

Also, the slam of the door at the end of movie as she leaves the theater signifies the end of her story (for now).

I just love me some symbolism for real shit is juicy as hell

I found some time to watch Ballerina, and my gosh. The restaurant fight scene is just...

I mean, it greatly showcases Eve's fighting style, how she, being much lighter and physically weaker than many of her opponents, has to rely on improvisation, agility, endurance, and pain tolerance.

But also. The Intensity. The Closeness.

It's so. Darn. Hot.

Concept: Dina gets infected and dies during the late stages of pregnancy, but JJ is saved. Ellie naturally takes up the responsibility of raising him, only to later find out that he is also immune, since he would've been exposed to the Cordyceps through Dina

The gamer in me jumped out cuz Ellie telling Dina to get in the cage was a good plan but when it's stalkers, you 100% want your back to a wall with good line of sight, so Ellie should have stood in front of the cage door and she and Dina could have shot at the bastards together.
