the thing about latinoamérica is that it's the most beautiful wonderful place on earth. there's a spinal cord of mountains running through, and at their feet you have everything from deserts to forests to jungles to glaciers. the lungs of the world are here, and so are the eyes into the sky. there are animals like axolotls and vicuñas and llamas and condors and jaguars. and the people are the most clever, the most resilient people in the world. you have cultures that are thousands of years old that have been resisting colonization for hundreds of years and in several cases successfully fighting back and even gaining territory. you have people who have lost their loved ones decades and decades ago who are still fighting for justice. you have a rich history of solidarity and struggle and you can sit with people in a circle passing a mate around and they will tell you of all the times they put everything on the line for a better world. there is an entire island that inspired revolutions around the world and that has been resisting a blockade for 60 years. there are communities building autonomous, revolutionary structures right now. and really it's not a surprise that there's so much grit and strength here because it would be inconceivable to be born and to live in this beautiful place without fighting for it.

listen to me. listen. your actual job in life, and it sucks that your 5th grader teacher didnt explain this adequately enough, is to ask for help when you need it and to accept charity when it would take a weight from your shoulders. Otherwise you end up like Sisyphus- or even worse, Walter White

Positivity for the gods because I said so
Aphrodite is there when you ask your crush out and he/she/they says yes. She’s there when you break up with someone, someone who wasn’t the one. She’s the voice in the back of your mind that says you are pretty and no one should tell you otherwise.
Apollo is there when you’re at a concert and it feels like the best moment of your life. He’s there when you feel the sunlight warming your skin. He’s there when you heal, or when someone close to you heals.
Ares is there when you finally won the fight, whoever or whatever your opponent was. He’s there when you throw a punch and don’t regret it. He’s there when you need strength to endure losing or continuing the fight.
Artemis is was there when you were born. She’s there when you’re staring at the moon through your window. She’s there, whether you’re younger or older, when you need a break and feel wild, even if it’s for the shortest moment.
Athena is there when you think you’re going to fail your exam. She’s there every time you’re studying or learning something. She’s there when you need a voice of logic in the back of your mind.
Demeter is there when your first plant grows. She’s there when you get to see the nature again, even if it’s just the grass in a small park. She’s there when you think the only thing left in your life is the potted plant on your windowsill.
Dionysus is there when you’re living in the party. He’s there when you’re siping wine and remembering the old days. He’s there when your mental health is hanging on by threads.
Hades is there when you find, by chance, a precious stone on the side of the road. He’s there when a loved one passes away. He’s there when you enter his realm.
Hephaestus is there when you restart your computer and it’s all it takes for it to be fixed. He’s there when you need to figure out how to use a newer technology. He’s there everytime something new is invented.
Hera is there when you’re old and still happy with your partner. She’s there when you need the right words to save your marriage. She’s there when you get a divorce and know it was the right choice.
Hermes is there when you’re at the mall and find something you love. He’s there when you see a new place, even if it’s just a street in your hometown. He’s there when you need to be clever.
Hestia is there when you’re comfortable at home. She’s there in the happy and sad moments spent with the people in your home, friends and family. She’s the good feeling you get when you’re warming at a fire.
Poseidon is there when you’re at the beach and feel the waves at you feet. He’s there when you’re submerged by water. He’s there when you try to hold your breath underwater for the longest time possible.
Zeus is there when you learn a new greek myth about his child. He’s there when there’s a storm, whether you’re scared or not. He’s there when you get a small shock from touching something or someone.

The fact that I have unsupervised and unlimited access to the entirety of the internet and all it has to offer should be in itself enough reason to consider me a hazard.
Luckily for yall my adhd is untreated and will most likely remain that way.

Name one hero who was happy.
Achilles.
I hope, I pray, I beg that it is Achilles.
He said he was going to be the first. And I believe he is.
His name has been passed down for centuries, he is Aristo Achaion. But even as he was dying, he smiled. Because of Patroclus.
Patroclus gave him a life worth living. Achilles, even at the age of 12, did not want to be a God. He knew that mortality came with friendship and love - and that was enough. When Patroclus dies, Achilles does everything in his power to kill himself. He realizes that life is not worth living without his philtatos and that you do not need to be a hero to achieve a successful life. As he speaks to his mother he screams “ What good is godhead if it cannot do this? What good are you?” He realizes that the only thing he wants is to save Patroclus, and what good is divinity if he cannot have that.
Achilles did not want to be a God, he did not want to be a hero, he did not want to be Aristos Achaion. Achilles simply wanted to be in love. Patroclus fulfilled him in ways that no divine power ever could. So when he died, he died happy. He knew that love was enough.

“It was Helen’s face that launched a thousand ships, but you unleashed Achilles. How were you to know that poets would sing of his rage? – that innumerable men would meet their deaths at the end of his grief-stricken spear? How were you to know when you went to battle in his armor that you would never return to him? – that you had brought about his death as surely as your own? He wept – and his mother in the depths of the sea heard his cries. He wept – and he dirtied his face, and tore at his hair, and wished for death. Eternal glory was not worth the price he paid. It was not worth the loss of you, Patroclus, whom he loved as his own life. What was Achilles to do when his heart burned with you on the pyre? What was he to do when his home became nothing but ashes in a golden urn? He was nearly a god – son of a goddess, best of the Greeks. He fell to an arrow, the poets say, guided by Apollo himself. The poets are wrong. He was nearly a god – but he was mortal, and he fell to that great mortal weakness: love. You would have followed him anywhere, even into death. You must have known that he would do the same.”
