Update: I've now pulled my third SE Aiona. So, umm.... scratch that last part.

I've been having better gacha luck with Silver and Blood than with any other gacha game I've played in my life. I've managed to pull SE Aiona, Van Helsing, and Acapella off the standard banner, and I've pulled all the special banner characters in a shockingly small number of pulls.

And then I go on reddit and see people saying they still don't have any of the meta SSRs. Sorry, I think I'm absorbing all the luck. For what it's worth, I've barely pulled any dupes

Pokémon Sealed Colosseum Chapter 14 — A Taste of Glory

New chapter (FINALLY) up on AO3. I can't believe how long this one took to write. The next one shouldn't take nearly as long, since it's mostly made up of the second half of this chapter that we cut for pacing.

This week: Wes takes on the Pyrite Colosseum with his newly acquired Shadow Pokémon. That's it. That's the chapter.

Fun fact: there's a subtle Pokémon Stadium reference in this chapter. Can you guess what it is?

I mentioned Deltarune in passing to a friend at work and he didn't know it was made by the same dev as Undertale. But he couldn't remember Undertale's name so he said, "It reminds me of... what's that really old game with the skeleton in the blue hood?"

I can't tell if he thinks it's older than it actually is because of the pixel art or if he just means 10 years is old. Either way, I didn't need that kind of psychic damage about my age from someone who's THE SAME AGE AS ME

I was watching a streamer playing Umamusume and at one point they were praising the localization

Some weirdo in chat said "imagine a DEI translation and the resulting fallout"

After recovering from the initial whiplash of stupidity that resulted from reading that sentence, I had a thought: translating something into multiple languages so that more people can understand it is literally diversity, equity, and inclusion at its core. All translations are DEI translations.

But in any case, I'm EXTREMELY curious what this guy thinks a "DEI translation" of Umamusume would look like. What, would they make the horses gay? I've got some bad news for him then.

I've been trying out Silver and Blood. I've mostly been liking it so far, but need to play a bit more to be sure.

I want to get back into making videos, so I made a short one about the JSRE launch party as a quick refresher on how to use Premiere. It's mostly just me reiterating all the stuff I said on here about it, but now accompanied by my tired, raspy voice!

Made a separate blog for Sealed Colosseum so I can ramble about the writing process as much as I want without clogging up my main page. No one will be safe from my info dumping

So SiIvagunner had this big Jet Set Radio event in collaboration with the Bomb Rush Cyberfunk Discord server Freesoul. Basically it was this in-game launch party where a bunch of people got together in BRC with the multiplayer mod.

It was amazing. About 150 people stayed for the whole thing (hit 180 at one point). The game was lagging like crazy, but it was fun.

My favorite part was during the Benten-Cho Parking Lot segment. At one point I just started using the Caramelldansen emote in the middle of the map. Then a user named Otto playing as Beat came over and started doing the same thing right next to me.

Somehow, this snowballed into almost the entire server lining up next to each other to do Caramelldansen in a big circle for the rest of the segment. Here are all the screenshot I took as the circle developed (the last one's from the SiIvagunner stream). I was the one with the Osage-chan skin.

I'm not just talking about this to brag tipping the first domino in the Caramelldansen circle (though that is the main reason). I also want to marvel at how awesome this community is. Thanks SiIvagunner and Freesoul, this was incredible!

The next Sealed Colosseum chapter has been pretty rough to write. I want to challenge myself by writing all of the battles at the Colosseum instead of skipping the ones we deem inconsequential, but it turns out writing four consecutive battles while trying to keep them all interesting is hard.

I'm getting there though. I just need to write one more battle and then Icarus can help me clean it up a bit.
