A situação é a seguinte.
Need help. Anyone know this girl? The situation is as follows. I have a friend who is desperate to marry and very fond of Super Brunettes (attention I said Super Brunettes, did not say black .. is that I am very politically correct and do not say these things) and this is the ideal woman for him. Beauty equal to his, intelligence idem .. idem .. know-how of construction or speak execution of work are the two perfect ... could even create a construction company together. So please help me to join these two lovebirds ..... today I am attacking the matchmaking spirit .. Right now thank you.

Clicker training!
So, I find clicker training tends to be underused in falconry, and for a couple of good reasons. One being that we have so much to carry in the field already most of us don’t have a free hand for a clicker. Some folks make up for this by clicking with their tongue or using a whistle. Two, there are some birds of prey you do not want to directly hand feed or they’re likely to foot you.
Falcons tend to be a lot less aggressive over food, so most people will hand them tidbits as a part of training/relationship building.
All falconry birds are trained via +R (positive reinforcement). You can’t really ‘punish’ a bird of prey as they don’t understand the social cues. That’s not to say positive punishment doesn’t affect a bird, but not so much in training. It tends to destroy confidence and leads to a shut down (or so I’ve witnessed in relation to game. Like if they catch something that bites them or something). Anyway!
I got into a discussion with some falconers the other week on using clicker training for teaching a screaming bird to be silent. Since Nel’s screaming hasn’t been that bad I decided to give it a try. Normally this is a hard thing to do, as screaming is typically self-reinforcing behavior, and very ingrained in their survival (noisy baby gets the most food). However Nel’s screaming seems to be less of a ‘food’ related behavior and more of a ‘nest site’ type thing. Since he sees my house as his nest he reverts to baby noises. But he is silent in almost all other occasions.
So I’m going to give it a shot. I spent 2-3 short 10 min sessions just clicking and tidbitting to build the clicker as a bridge. Then I spent 2 10-min sessions teaching Nel to first look at and then touch or pick up the hood with his beak. This video is from the second session. You can see my clicking isn’t always perfect, but he definitely gets the idea. He wouldn’t even look at the hood starting in the first session.
Once I train a few different behaviors I’ll start working on marking periods where he is silent in the house and go from there. He’s a smart little dude so I think he’ll pick it up quickly.
I’m also mostly trying to use a form of tidbitting knowing as high-level tidbitting, to deliver the reward. I think I forgot once or twice in the video. This is delivering the tidbit from over their head vs down on their level, as a parent would. It tends to put the bird in a different mental state and is a highly effective reward system. It’s even used to hand feed birds that might be more food aggressive like red tails etc.
I am by no means an expert on clicker training but I use it daily with my dog for obedience and trick training. If you want to learn more I highly recommend you look into Karen Pryor’s website or Don’t Shoot the Dog.
