every day i think about how daniel spent so long searching the streets for robby and had to basically drag johnny along in trying to find him and how daniel called and emailed robby several times when he was in juvie even when robby wouldn’t speak to him and johnny didn’t show up to visit him and how daniel sought robby out while he was in cobra kai and pulled him aside at the tournament to talk and johnny told him “we have nothing left to talk about” the one time robby came to him and how they STILL had robby go to johnny instead of daniel when he left cobra kai and basically never touched daniel and robby’s relationship again……..ohh if i were in that writer’s room i would’ve been throwing chairs i would’ve been fist fighting people i would’ve started biting

Free Weekend (and Not So Secret Anymore) | Steven Meeks

masterlist dead poets society masterlist
Summary: During a free weekend, the boys of Welton accidentally discover Meeks' very unexpected secret.
Themes: Secret relationship, unexpected attraction, teenage mischief, tenderness, romantic comedy.
Steven Meeks x reader
Warning: none
Song: "You Send Me" – Sam Cooke
Welton Academy, Fall of 1959
The woods behind Welton felt like another world.
Leaves crunched under their shoes as they ran between the trees, dodging branches, throwing each other looks that were challenges disguised as smiles. She laughed loudly as he tried to catch up, his tie crooked, his hair a mess, and that look on his face: the perfect mix of love and terror for how much he cared about her.
“Cheater!” Meeks shouted between laughs. “You elbowed me!”
“You were stepping on my heel!”
“Lies!”
She looked back at him just before tripping over a root. She screamed, but Steven caught her just in time, rolling with her over the dry leaves. They landed tangled, laughing non-stop, their faces so close they could count each other’s freckles.
“That was very clumsy of you,” he said, not moving.
“And very you to catch me just in time,” she replied, amused, eyes locked on his.
He didn’t say anything. Just looked at her lips, then her eyes. And kissed her.
He kissed her with the kind of passion that’s terrifying because it feels too good to be real. He had her pinned gently against an old log, his arms around her waist, and she was tugging at the collar of his wrinkled shirt. The world paused in that scene. Or at least, that’s what they thought.
No one knew about them. No one had a clue. She wasn’t an ordinary girl. Not a face anyone would overlook. She was the kind of girl that made even the leaves stop to stare. Too beautiful, too seductive... but never arrogant. She was just her — with that sweet way of looking, of speaking, of brushing his neck when no one was watching.
And Meeks... Meeks looked at her like the universe had done him an impossible favor.
They didn’t hear the footsteps. They didn’t hear anything. Just the crunch. Too late.
“…Steven?”
Todd’s voice was the first. Soft, but full of awe.
“Meeks?” Charlie said it with that mix of teasing, admiration, and pure disbelief.
Neil just widened his eyes like he’d discovered a national secret.
Meeks opened his eyes at last, just as the boys came into view. Frozen. So was she.
“Shit,” Steven whispered, not moving.
She didn’t say a word. Just buried her face in his neck, hiding, wishing the trees would swallow her whole. Her breathing trembled.
“Who…?” Charlie began, frowning, but grinning like a kid catching something he wasn’t supposed to see. “Is this for real?”
“No way…” Neil muttered. “Meeks?”
“Steven has a girlfriend!” Pitts blurted from behind, absolutely unfiltered.
She clung tighter, face still buried, redder than the leaves scattered on the ground. Steven held her, like he could somehow shield her from the chaos that was coming.
“Don’t say anything,” Steven said, still holding her close. “Just… don’t say anything. Please.”
“You’re dating a movie star and didn’t tell us!?” Charlie was genuinely scandalized.
“She’s not a movie star!” Steven replied — though, in his head, she absolutely was.
She tried to step back, too exposed now, nervous, trying to escape the moment… But she stepped wrong. The ground cracked.
Then gave way.
A second later, she vanished into a ridiculous splash that no one saw coming.
“What the—?!” they all shouted.
“I’M OKAY!” her voice came from the little hidden pond, previously covered in leaves.
Silence.
Steven took half a second to rush to the edge, lean down, and see her soaked, laughing, one hand on her forehead and leaves stuck in her hair.
“Oh my God…” Meeks whispered, eyes wide, heart pounding in his chest.
“I’m fine,” she repeated with nervous laughter, even though she clearly wanted to disappear.
And Steven… Steven burst into laughter. That soft, glowing, sincere laugh.
The rest of the boys didn’t know whether to laugh, help her out, or ask what the hell was going on. But Steven just stood there, looking down at her.
And in that moment, she knew it didn’t matter who saw them anymore.
Because Steven Meeks looked at her like the strangest thing was that they’d ever tried to hide at all.

Only one person died. Only one singular person. In a superhero movie! The type that love to throw around casualty counts like it’s all a big game, waving off 70 people being killed in a handful of days like it’s no big deal, yet only ONE PERSON died.
And he was mourned. Superman cried for him—this stranger who gave him free falafel and, while facing death, told him that he still believed in him. Metamorpho, this cold-seeming man who is being actively blackmailed to do this, breaking down and taking the risk to believe in Superman, too, because seeing someone murdered right in front of him is devastating enough to take the risk. The newspapers run a front page article talking about how they’re going to memorialize him.
The stakes didn’t have to involve real actual loss of life. The threat of it was enough to convey the severity of the situation. Because human life is that important. All life is that important, at least to Superman who goes out of his way to save dogs and squirrels.
(Hawkgirl does kill SHEIN Netanyahu but genocidal dictators don’t count as human beings lol.)

Shoutout to Superman (2025) for making it incredibly fucking clear that Superman is for good people. He’s hope. He’s love. He’s supportive. He’s an immigrant. He supports Palestine. He loves animals. He protects children.
The movie is a light. If you’ve been feeling really depressed about the world lately I’d highly suggest watching Superman.

i do think cobra kai peaked with season 1 and not necessarily because it’s the most entertaining or my favorite to watch but because it’s the best the show ever does with the nature vs. nurture theme, which is at the heart of the show. like the crux of cobra kai ofc relies on the idea that johnny was never a bad person, that maybe there are really no bad people, that people are just a product of their circumstances and especially who shapes them and johnny is the way that he is because he was indoctrinated into an ideology when he was a kid. and sure in later seasons the show keeps trying to circle back to that idea with kreese war flashbacks and everyone switching sides all the time and axel and whatever but it never gets as good with that theme as it does in season 1, when it takes the scrawny sweet nerdy kid who loves his mom and his friends and does well in school and turns him aggressive and a little mean and willing to cheat at the tournament to win, and takes the snarky troublemaker punk who deals drugs and runs scams for a living and makes him respectful and honest and the one who’s willing to offer a hand to his opponent and bow even after he's lost, and shows you how those developments are completely a product of the ways they’ve been taught by their respective senseis. in some ways it swaps daniel and johnny out for each other, shows us that they really could’ve been different. and that’s what “no such thing as bad student, only bad teacher” is about. it works so well and it never hits that level again.

drives me actually insane to think about how cobra kai came so close to being a show that could say something meaningful about toxic masculinity and teach young boys and men that it’s possible to be strong while still being gentle and pacifist and compassionate and show them characters who are capable of breaking generational cycles and instead it created an army of fans who hate miyagi-do for being "weak", shit on the female characters and actors for not fitting their beauty standards, constantly attack cast members for not dressing stereotypically masculine, think miguel was “at his peak” when he was ruthless and angry, genuinely believe johnny did no wrong, believe the dojo that constantly cheated their way into wins and built their entire philosophy on violence is the one that deserved to win the whole time, and dismiss the actual sexual harassment in the show because the perpetrator is “hot”

hiii do you mind doing headcanons on what it’s like dating luca as the youngest berzatto sister?
Of course 🥰
Thank you for your patience ❤️
You meet through an event Carmy takes you. He needs a plus one and you want to try the delicious food
Luca notices you instantly and pretty much has a crush on you right away. He is so awkward and cute around you (think how dorky he was around that chef he idolised)
The two of you hit it off and end up sneaking off with your drinks and end up giggling over stories
He asks you out and Sugar finds out when he shows up to the Bear to see you and she just gives you this look
She takes to Luca instantly though because you’ve told him all about her so he’s full of questions and even asks about baby Sophie
You come out and there’s Luca just holding your niece and playing with her. It’s adorable and your whole heart melts
Tina teases you and tells you not to get any ideas just yet and Luca goes very very pink.
Carmy is shocked when he realises you’re dating. He realises when Luca accidentally calls you ‘babygirl.’ It’s Sydney, who has become one of your best friends, that tells him it’s been months.
He pretends to be a little annoyed but he can’t complain, he knows Luca is gentle and kind so comes around
Richie gives Luca the talk but by the end of it, he and Luca are talking like best friends. Richie tells him embarrassing childhood stories about you. Luca’s promised to go to a baseball game with him and promised to take Richie to an Arsenal game if he’s ever in London.
He wants to meet Donna and you want to meet his mum and sister. You both understand strained family relations and navigate it together
You tell him about Mikey and he listens and asks questions. He spends a whole evening listening to your stories, looking at photos and helping you to remember the best of your brother and it’s then you realise you’re in love.
Marcus sometimes joins you and Luca when you go for ‘dessert dinners’. You really don’t mind as you think it’s interesting listening to the two of them wax lyrical about a sfogliatine or whatever
Carmy ends up mellowing a lot through watching Luca. Luca is also an incredibly talented, Michelin starred chef (Noma, hello) and he manages to still make time for you.
Luca comes with you to Tiff’s wedding and dances with you and spins you around which makes everyone laugh.
He’s family now and you’re always family.
