Jeremy smiled when Linda walked into the kitchen and he chuckled when he saw her lay her head down. He had just finished putting everything into the blender so he said, "I usually stay up, but if you want to go back to sleep I won't stop you. Loud noise," he added and turned the blender on. Two minutes later he turned it off and poured the shakes into two glasses. "Drink up."

It took a little while, Linda didn’t know exactly how long, but eventually she fell asleep. Her mind was racing with thoughts of her and Jeremy. Every time she felt like she was dozing off, some sort of romantic thought about her friend crossed her mind, which lead to her overthinking and soon she was wide awake again. Linda grunted as she tossed and turned. It felt as though sleep had just overcame her when she heard Jeremy knock on the door. She pulled the covers over her head and whined. “I’m gonna beat you down, Renner!” She playfully yelled back to him. When she heard him walk away she sighed. She got dressed in her workout shorts , a sports bra and work out tank top and threw her hair up in a messy bun on top of her head before she headed downstairs to meet Jer. “Do you go back to bed after this workout or are we up for the day?” She asked, sitting in the kitchen and resting her head on the counter.

Jeremy didn't often had sleeping problems but this night he was finding it hard to fall asleep. He didn't know if it was because there was an extra person in the house or because of the conversation he and Linda were having earlier, but he found himself in a constant state of thought. At some point he heard someone near his door and when he heard the closet door close he assumed Linda had gotten cold and for a brief second had the passing thought of keeping her warm himself. When his alarm went off at 3:30am he groaned. He hadn't remembered falling asleep, but he didn't think he got much. He kept to his routine though and got up to pee and change into his workout clothes. When he was ready he left his room and knocked on the guest room, "Rise and shine! Be in the garage ready to work out in fifteen minutes!" He knocked again to make sure she had heard him and then he headed downstairs to make them both a protein shake to start their day.

Linda nodded as he told her about the AC and the blankets. “Okay. Cool, thank you. Good night , Jer.” She watched as he walked away and half focused back in on the tv when he had disappeared from view. She found a show to put on that she didn’t really need to pay too much attention to because she was, in fact , getting tired. Not too long went by and Linda found herself jumping herself awake. She must have dozed off. She stretched, and stood from the couch, clicking the remote to turn off the tv before heading upstairs. It was a little chilly, so she took Jeremy’s advice and went to the closet to get an extra blanket. For a moment she looked at her friends’ bedroom door deciding whether or not she should just crawl into bed with him. Not sexually, just as a friend like they sometimes had done in his trailer on the set of Ultron. Just to have the comfort of a friend. She ultimately decided not to and went to her own room where she cuddled up in the big bed and tried to fall asleep.

"Okay, I'll see you soon." Jeremy hung up the phone and continued driving until he arrived at Linda's house. He parked the car and walked over to the door. He knocked lightly and then rang the doorbell in case she didn't hear him knock.

“Come over here.” She answered. “We can figure the rest out then.” She could tell there was a slight edge on his voice. And from their past talks, she knew how nervous he was about his ex being around his daughter. She was hoping she would be able to ease his mind just a bit. “I’ll think while I wait for ya.”

"I know," he said and this time he had known she was teasing him. He was still trying to figure out how he missed the fact that she was just trying to come spend time with him by agreeing to work out. "The central AC can grt pretty cold at night. There's a closet right next to my room that has extra blankets if you need them. There's towels in there too for whenever you want to shower." He stretched one more time as he thought if there was anything else he needed to tell her. "Goodnight, Linda," he said and went about making sure all the doors were locked and then went upstairs to bed.

Linda laughed at his comment, part of her wanting him to drag her out of bed. Or climb in with her. Either way. “You’re such an old man.” She teased him playfully. “Watching the news, going to bed before the sun goes down. Were you always this boring?” The woman winked back at him.

Jeremy's head was spinning a little but he didn't want to unload everything on Linda especially so soon into their relationship. He would be worried about Ava all night but he figured having a distraction would be good for him. "I'm open to suggestions," he told her as he continued driving. "I'm in the car right now. I can head to your house or you can come over to mine. I just need to know what I'm doing."

Linda was a little surprised when Jeremy finally asked her out. They had been having such a good time hanging out and getting reacquainted lately that she was happy to finally test the water with him. They had known each other so long and up until recently she hadn’t ever thought of Jeremy in that context. But her days were getting lonelier and her nights were getting colder. And one day out of the blue her good friend just looked a little more handsome than he once did. Now when she saw her phone light up with his name, a bright smile crossed her lips. “Hey there, handsome.” she greeted. “Oh, kid free?” She raised her eyebrows and even though she knew he couldn’t see her. “Whatever shall we do?”

"Sorry I'm so boring for you," he joked with a shrug. It was after 8pm and his alarm was going off at 3:30 so he was already getting less than the recommended eight hours of sleep. "Home Jeremy and work Jeremy are two different people," he shrugged again, "Two different routines."

Linda laughed at his comment, part of her wanting him to drag her out of bed. Or climb in with her. Either way. “You’re such an old man.” She teased him playfully. “Watching the news, going to bed before the sun goes down. Were you always this boring?” The woman winked back at him.

The news concluded and Jeremy handed the remote to Linda, "I'll pull you from bed if I have to," he teased. He let her pick out a movie to watch and about halfway through Ava came back downstairs to find a snack and then disappear back into her room. When the movie ended Jeremy let out a yawn and stood up from the couch. He lifted his arms over his head to stretch. "You're welcome to stay up and watch whatever you want, help yourself to whatever in the kitchen, but I'm headed to bed. 3:30 comes early."

“I’d like to see you make me.” She raised her eyebrows at him with a smirk. Even as she said the words a part of her shivered. Linda would work out with him, it would be fun. Watching his skin stretch around his muscle mass.

It had been years since Jeremy won sole custody of Ava and over the years there had been little to no contact from Sonni. Lately with the conversation turning more and more to Jeremy finding someone to settle down with to give Ava a mother the man decided to reach out to his ex wife to see if there was a mother daughter relationship that could be saved. For a long time Jeremy didn't think that Sonni would change but he was surprised to find out that she had gotten herself clean, moved on and had another baby not that long ago. She seemed good, like her old self, while they were visiting and even though Jeremy was apprehensive he decided to let Ava stay the night. Sonni wasn't the only adult in the house and Ava was old enough to know when something didn't feel right to call him immediately. He was driving back home from Sonni's when he decided to call Linda. "I seem to have found myself kid free tonight, do you want to do something?" he asked once she answered the phone.

Jeremy shrugged, "I thought you were trying to get healthier. Who was I to question it?" He asked and smiled at her. "If you wanted to see me that badly you didn't have to manipulate me. You could have just asked." He turned back to the TV, "You're still working out with me in the morning."

“A movie would be nice.” She nodded. His smile made Linda melt a little inside. “Yeah, I missed you , too Renner.” She teased. She curled her leg up under her body and leaned slightly toward him. “I’m glad i manipulated you into having me over.” She told him as she nudged his shoulder with hers.

I don’t want to get anyone’s hopes up too high, but it looks like we’re getting season 2!
