Crowns in "The Green Knight" are made of a pale metal. The band of the crown mimics the shape of the classic storybook crown but is a more geometric, rigid version. The band of the crown is encompassed and surpassed in grandeur by a large ring that sits just behind the wearer’s head, framing their face. This ring is made up of numerous repeated rays that reference the rays of the sun. Both this ring and its rays are where the ideas of divinity officially come into play because they directly reference Greek, Roman, and Medieval portrayals of the halo.
