little blurb-dump of headcanons i’ve made that either don’t need their own post, or will be expanded on in the future.

PIERCINGS : one on either earlobe, the nape of his neck, & 4 hip dermals ( two on either side )

HAIR : his hair is actually rather long, he pulls it into a ponytail & pushes most of it out of his way while writing. of course, as soon as someone walks in, he shakes it back to being in his face.

INSTRUMENTS : he is currently teaching himself to play piano, as a hobby between writer’s block

ALCOHOL : a violent, moody drunk. will likely try to take a swing at anyone who eggs him on.

ANIMALS : basically an animal whisperer, really. most every animal he’s come into contact with loves him, & he loves them in return ( with obvious bias towards karl ). prefers time with animals over time with humans.

HONESTY : he is painfully honest, but not on purpose. he just ... messes up lies. he tries, but it always turns into him somehow spilling the truth.

HC. sleep

as you can probably guess, poe has SEVERE insomnia, accompanied by reoccurring nightmares + sleep paralysis after them. he’s fucked basically. there are some nights where he can occasionally get a good, normal night of sleep, but those are few & far between. usually, he settles with falling asleep at his desk, if only for a couple hours at a time. just enough sleep to keep him running, barely enough to keep him functional as a normal human being. the bags under his eyes are as deep set as they could be, & he seems to yawn to himself at least once every 10 minutes.

HC. ex-fiancée

when edgar was 16 - 18, he was engaged to a woman named SARAH. this was fine & well, & he really did love her. however, when he was seventeen, edgar left his home state to another so he could study in a different school. during the time he was gone, he picked up gambling habits, & sarah was promised to another man.   if you ask him about past love, he’ll claim no experience. but he’s definitely lying.

HC. guild relationships

as someone in a highly ranked position, you’d think edgar would be intimidating, to a fault. however, anyone who knows him personally can tell you that that is the most incorrect assumption that could possibly be made. if anything, the intimidation comes from his appearance, & the fact he barely speaks. in meetings & group events, he hangs by the side, normally silent. you wouldn’t take him as the sociable type, which he really isn’t.

despite being absolutely terrible with interacting with groups, he is surprisingly alright to speak one on one with people. thanks to this, he actually does know, & has actively spoken to most of the guild while not around a group! he has his preferences to be alone, but even the most antisocial of people crave interaction from time to time.

his most well known member of the guild is likely alcott, but he really enjoys time with most of them. lovecraft is someone he would love to spend more time getting to know … if he wasn’t such an intimidating presence. the younger members confuse him, but he wouldn’t be against getting to know them better, too.

generally, with the guild, he thinks of them as a very very distant family. he enjoys being with them, individually. he does think of them all positively.
