driving in the city is all about using your maximum amount of brain power to avoid a vehicular manslaughter charge while seemingly everyone else around you has made it their holy mission to get hit by your car

I bet you do a lot more than you think you do, everyday. Maybe you took a shower. That’s taking care of yourself. Maybe you made a warm meal. That’s taking care of yourself. Maybe you went out of your way to hold the door open for someone or give them a compliment. That’s putting kindness into the world, something that may just have saved someone that day or restored a little of their faith in humanity that day. Maybe you journaled your feelings instead of lashing out or hurting yourself. That’s progress, that’s taking care of yourself, that is hard work, that is actively choosing and learning to be better for yourself and for this world. Maybe you took a bug outside instead of killing it. I can promise you, the earth thanks you and loves you for that. Maybe you washed the dishes for your family. That’s helping others. Maybe you walked for five minutes, even when you really did not feel like it. That is progress. That is taking care of yourself. I am really, really tired of people without disabilities acting as if people with them, contribute nothing to society or this world when that is simply not true. Just because a human cannot live they same way as you do or they do not function or exist in a way that you believe is what makes someone worthy of being here, being provided for, cared for, or supported, does not mean you are correct nor does it give you the right to degrade or belittle anyone or any of their own accomplishments. Disabled people have the right to be here on this earth and get the help and accommodations and support just as everyone else does. You do not get to decide who is worthy or what makes someone worthy or what. Disabled people are humans. They always have been, and they always will be. And there will always be people advocating for them.
