Your squad could never be as chaotic as ours
A little hate here, but I couldn't have gotten through the past few months without all of you. You taught me what true fandom friendship is and I couldn't be more grateful for that. Best 9-1-1 squad ever. Love you all sm, and here's hoping 2021 brings us even more Madney content than 2020 did. @maddieandchimney @minti-here @cbljlh @crazybagelbitch @oneawkwardcookie @lovelessmotel @levinson-mannion @cattar123 @trueromantic1 @writer-of-bad-decisions @meowser-clancy

This one hurt a lot.... part 2?
You've shown me what love can feel like.
“You’ve shown me what love can feel like,” Maddie drawls, voice getting quieter and slower and she hates this, hates that she has to say goodbye to him over the phone, hates that she’s not even going to know if their daughter is going to live or not before she dies, “I love you... so sorry I never--”
“You’re not dying. You can’t be dying,” he spits, and of course he’s angry, she’d be angry at her, too. She should have seen the car coming, she’s put herself and their baby in her belly in danger.
“I-I might be, Howie,” she whispers, and she can feel the pain starting to fade which she knows is a sign that she’s likely on her way to whatever it is after this life, “they can’t... they’re trying to get us out of the car but... I need you to listen to me.”
“No, n-no, you’re not--”
“I love you, a-and I need you to keep going. Know you’ve already lost so much, Kevin and your mama...” she trails off, before forcing her eyes open because she can’t pass out yet, not before she’s said everything to him that she needs, “I know, so... you can hurt, but you can’t quit, okay? You can’t give up.”
“How am I supposed to not give up if you’re gone?” he demands, she can hear him choking on a sob, “how am I supposed to live without you? How am I supposed to raise our daughter--”
“If we don’t make it,” Maddie cuts him off, and she hears him actually scream in agony at the idea of losing both her and their baby, “if we don’t make it, you can’t... I-I need to know that you’ll be okay.”
“I won’t. I’ll never be okay. I’m not going to lie to you, I’m not going to give you permission to give up!”
“Please, Howie, please? I-I’m going to pass out soon, I can feel it, and I d-don’t think I’ll wake up so I need you to--”
“No. I’m not going to lie. Maddie, please don’t give up. Please don’t leave me. You can’t. I’m nothing without you.”
“N-Not true. You’re so much without me, H-Howie... so... special... and...”
“Maddie?”
She can hear him, but she can’t bring herself to answer him. She can’t see anything, her eyes remain shut despite her best efforts.
“Maddie?!” she hears him demand, “I-I’m sorry. I promise, I-Ill be okay...”
She wants to tell him that she heard, but she can’t, her hand goes limp, the phone falls, and she can’t hear him anymore.

“I loved you.” “Then why did you let (her/him/them) get in between us?”
“I loved you.”
At least that gets him to pause, turning around to face her before he could reach the door, a devastated look on his face.
“I loved you,” she repeats, tears streaming down her face, “I-I still love you.”
“Then why did you let him get in between us?”
It’s a fair question, one she knows he deserves an answer to and NEEDS one to, but she knows the answer isn’t going to be good enough to him, especially considering it’s not even good enough for herself.
“I-I wanted to try and make things right,” she whimpers, lower lip wobbling, “I wanted to try and... he’s Bailey’s father.”
“I know he is,” Chimney practically spits, and hardly anything about Chimney is unfamiliar to her anymore but anger certainly still is, an emotion she’s hardly seen from him and only this once seen it directed towards her.
“Tom said... he said he wanted to try for r-real, to try and... that we could be together and he’d be a g-good dad and boyfriend..”
“And you believed him? When has he ever--”
“I know!” she shouts, putting her hands up in the air because she’s not ready to hear it, not when she’s already been saying it to herself over and over again, “I-I realized my mistake so quickly, Howie, I-I knew that he hadn’t changed and even if he had... didn’t love him anymore, just l-loved the idea of... I-I didn’t have a good family growing up, Chim, you know that.”
“We could’ve given her one, the two of us,” he growls, “I’ve known your daughter since she was born, I was the paramedic there who delivered her when you and Tom got in that earthquake, I-I’ve been your friend for how long?”
She shakes her head, tears spilling over and she opens her mouth to speak but he cuts her off.
“You don’t owe me anything, of course you don’t, I knew you were dating him at the time and then you weren’t, and then we were just friends for a long time and then... and then you finally asked me out, only to two weeks later say you were going to try and work it out with Bailey’s father.”
“I-I know, I made a mistake.”
“You keep saying that.”
“Because it’s true! I don’t love him anymore, I love you. He’s Bailey’s father but the biology doesn’t matter, you’re so much more present than--”
“But because we don’t share DNA, I’m not as--”
“You know I’m not saying that, that’s not fair!” she shrieks, taking a few wild steps towards him as he flinches back, “I-I shouldn’t have taken him back, even for as short of a time, I just... I wanted to give Bailey a good life. I thought I-I was a failure because I wasn’t with her father, and I thought if me and her dad were together she’d be happier but that w-was wrong. I was wrong. Please give me another chance. Please.”
“How am I supposed to trust that, to trust you? What if the next time he asks you to--”
“I’ll say no!”
“I want to believe that, but I don’t know if I can. I love you and Bailey, you know that...”
“So give us a second chance? Give ME a second chance? I know I’m asking a lot but...” she trails off, trying again to bridge the physical distance between the two of them, “I know I hurt you but, if you could just... I shouldn’t have listened to them. But I love you and you love me so... we can move past this, right?”
“I w-want to,” he whispers, tears starting to build up in his eyes and he shakes his head as if he’s trying to physically shake the vulnerability out of himself, “I love you, I love your daughter, but I-I’m not so sure I can trust you right now.”
“Can I-I ever get that trust back?”
“I don’t know.”

I loved this so much
Madney CNN AU though 😂😂 with Chimney as Steve and Maddie as the lovestruck exec who has to tuck him in with a glass of milk and stern words.
Two quick notes: it’s actually MSNBC that has Steve Kornacki and not CNN, the election just broke my brain and I forgot. The second note, I am only writing this because Maddie offered me Chim whump in return. So here, enjoy the madness.
“And as you can see, Trump still has a small lead in Georgia-- but only by a margin of about two thousand votes, and the mail in vote counts are starting to pour in, so this could be a tight race and we could theoretically see Joe Biden pulling away with Georgia, but it’s too tight to now,” Howie says, gesturing at his beloved big board as Rachel Maddow gazes at him fondly.
“Wow, if you had told me Georgia might go blue a few weeks ago...”
“I know, it’s one of the more surprising results of the last few days... considering we are on day four of this election,” he sighs, rubbing at his tired eyes. “hopefully we only have a day or two more to go until we can project a winner of this presidential election.”
“So you can finally sleep, right?” Rachel jokes.
“Math waits for no one, not even sleep.”
But it appears that maybe math does wait for sleep, or at least someone will take over for him while he does get some sleep, as Ms. Buckley, the gorgeous network executive approaches him as soon as they cut to commercial.
“It’s not my call,” she cautions, putting her hands up in surrender, “but Ali is going to take over for you for the next few hours.”
“No, no, I can--”
“Oh, I know you CAN, Howie, you’re just not going to. I’ve been ordered to put you to bed for a nap.”
“But, but, but...” he trails off, gesticulating wildly enough that he accidentally smacks his big board with his hand, “the votes are still coming in...”
“And they’ll probably still be coming in after your nap because Nevada apparently doesn’t know how to count. Let’s go,” she sighs with a huff, grabbing his arm and blushing at the muscle definition she feels as she begins to yank him over to the break room, which now has a couch littered in pillows and blankets, with a mug of warm milk on the coffee table in front of it.
“They ordered you to put me to bed with a cup of warm milk?”
“No, they just ordered me to put you to bed. I just thought the whole warm milk thing would be funny.”
“I guess it sort of is,” he snorts, and she can feel her heartbeat picking up before he shakes his head, causing her to practically throw herself in front of the break room door because she knows he’s going to try and leave.
“You have to sleep.”
“But the presidential election only comes once every four years!”
“And human beings need sleep once a day,” she counters, crossing her arms over her chest and trying to look stern, “look, this nation loves you, but if we get one more tweet from a concerned viewer asking when the last time you’ve slept or changed your clothes was, the police are going to investigate us for labor law violations.”
“But I want to deprive myself of all my basic human needs until we know who one this thing,” he says indignantly, and cute as he is, she can’t help but roll her eyes.
“And I want to be the Queen of England, but we all want things that we can’t have.”
“Queen of England, really? You know there’s really no power in that, just stupid royal rules and lots of photo ops...”
“I was joking,” she huffs, pressing on his shoulders until he gets the hint and is making his way back toward the couch, “now lie down and get some sleep. You’ll feel better and more ready to go after you take a nap.”
“But--”
“No.”
“But I--”
“Still no.”
“But--”
“Howard.”
“Madeline,” he pouts, but she can tell by the way his eyelids are drooping that she’s already one.
“If a winner is able to be projected, I promise I’ll wake you up so you can do the honors of calling it, okay?”
“Promise?”
“Promise,” she nods, “that’s what I just said.”
“Just needed a confirmation,” he grumbles, eyes closing and then his breath relaxing not even thirty seconds later.
“Finally,” Maddie sighs to herself, opening up the MSNBC twitter to proclaim that beloved statistician Howie Han was finally getting some sleep.

Lovely
Maddie has braxtion hicks contractions, Maddie and chin know that they aren’t real, but chim is being super sweet running her a bath and just being sweet.
“I can’t believe they’re not real.” Maddie repeats, probably for the hundredth time since they’d left the hospital, a pout on her lips as she looks at her boyfriend. There had been a short moment of panic when she’d woken him up at two in the morning because three weeks before her due date, the contractions had started. But he had been perfect in every single way possible and despite the inevitable pain that would come eventually, at some point in the next few weeks, the excitement was starting to build. Not only because she was about to meet their daughter but because Chimney would be the perfect boyfriend by her side when the time finally came.
Maddie equally cannot wait for that day also because she doesn’t think she can possibly get any larger than she currently is and she just wants to meet their baby girl already. She wants to hold her and to see her and to look into those eyes for the very first time. She’s excited and growing more impatient by the day as it feels as though she’s been pregnant a lot longer than thirty-seven weeks.
Chimney’s hand is on her back, gently rubbing where it hurts the most and she wishes she could tell him just how grateful she is for him. How she’d always wanted to be a mom but had pushed that away because it was never safe and then she’d just assumed it would never happen to her. Whether that was because of age or because she and Chimney hadn’t been together that long in the grand scheme of things. There was no one else in the world she could imagine doing this with, there wasn’t a better father or boyfriend who could make her feel quite so safe and loved. Maddie grins at him when he gets to work making her a hot chocolate and he’s saying words but she can’t hear them over the sound of her heart thumping and the thought of their little baby Han finally making her appearance.
He’s going to be a wonderful father, she can see the excitement in his eyes every single time they talk about it. She can hear the love in his voice when he chatters to her about the future they’re going to have with their little girl. “Thank you for being my rock tonight… this morning.” She finally announces, cutting him off from whatever he was saying as her cheeks flush and he turns to look at her. “I was panicking and you were—I know inside you were probably in the same place I was but you were amazing tonight. I can’t wait to do this all over again… for real though.”
They’re grinning at each other and it’s barely six in the morning and he looks as though he’s wide awake. His hair still dishevelled from where she had woken him up a few hours before, half dressed in the jeans he’d managed to scramble on over his boxers and the top he had fallen asleep in. It’s probably the very large coffee she had seen him sneakily try to drink as they waited for the doctor to come and tell them everything was okay, his eyes as wide as his smile when his hands move down to her stomach and his lips cover hers.
It’s just a short, sweet kiss but it leaves her breathless all the same, opening her eyes slowly to stare at him as her chest heaves when he pulls back, tears in her eyes until another faux contraction hits and she finds herself jolting forward into his body with a groan. “Braxton Hicks is no joke.” She laughs, mostly to cover up the embarrassment she feels that the two of them, trained medical professionals, had immediately panicked and gone to the hospital even though her waters hadn’t broken.
It was just a test run that she feels as though she failed but clearly baby wanted them to be as prepared as possible for her impending arrival into the world.
“It’s okay,” Hands are on her shoulders, gently massaging them as he presses kisses to her forehead and somehow it feels as though she can get through anything as long as he’s by her side. “going to run you a bath, make you some hot chocolate and we’ve got leftover pizza from last night with some hot mustard.” She doesn’t bother telling him that it’s far too early to be eating pizza because she’s pregnant and she’s sure if that’s not an excuse to eat whatever she wants, whenever she wants, then nothing is. “Then I’m going to give you a back massage,” His lips move to her neck and it’s easy to find herself tilting her head to the side to give him better access as she lets out a soft moan of his name. “then we can snuggle up together and forget the world for a bit.”
That sounds like a plan, his touch gentle when he grazes his fingers along her cheekbone as her hand settles over his chest as though they can’t stop touching each other. It had been a shock, waking up after a few hours of sleep expecting to come home next time with a baby in their arms, only to be left disappointed a few hours later and thankful they hadn’t called anyone to share in their slightly over-excited, over-panicked moment. “I love you,” Chimney whispers, leaning down to lay a kiss over her stomach as her fingers move to his hair, “both of you.”
“We love you, too. So, so much.”

Little throw back to this fix that totally deserved a part two
Hey queen🥰🥰 Can you write an au where maddie doesn’t get kidnapped but instead he finds her at the 118 and she kinda reverts back to her old ways and the fire fam is trying to protect her?
It’s as though all the progress she feels as though she’s made over the last few months disappear the moment he walks towards her. He’s holding flowers, that charming smile on his face that she has fallen for more times than she can count. Her first thought should be focusing on how the hell he found her and why he would turn up at the station at that particular time, knowing she would be surrounded by people including her brother. Instead, her first thought is that maybe she had been wrong, over-exaggerating things in her head, maybe she had—
She forces those thoughts from her head, a tension in her chest rising as the tears sting her eyes. Maddie hates him, hates how he can do that to her, make her doubt everything she feels within seconds and he hasn’t even opened his mouth yet. The broken bones, the isolation, the pushing her down the stairs, constant screaming at her, slamming her against walls… none of that was an over-exaggeration or a creation of her own imagination. She had the scars to prove it, both mental and physical. And yet, she had doubted it, even for a second. She can’t help but wonder what the hell is wrong with her.
It’s no surprise that her brother is rushing towards her, practically shoving her behind him before the rest of the 118 follow, Chimney’s brain playing catch-up until Buck spits out the name of the man she was married to. And suddenly, her kind of, sort of boyfriend shields her completely, standing next to Buck. He may not be as imposing as her brother, nowhere near as tall or as obviously muscular but somehow, in that second, he manages to make himself look intimidating, his body tense and his fists clenched at his side.
Maddie can feel the way her body is trembling, tears already falling down her face because he’s looking at her as though she’s his entire world. There’s that gorgeous smile on his face that she had fallen for so quickly when she was nineteen, he’s even shifting nervously from one foot the other as he clutches at the flowers tightly. She can remember all the times she had gone running to her friends towards the beginning, how they had laughed at her and reminded her how perfect Doug was and how lucky she was to have him. He’d turn up, polite and handsome as ever… they’d practically push her back into his arms and she’d forget for a while why she had even left in the first place.
Her biggest worry, even for a second is that the people who surround her right then are going to believe him. He even stutters when he talks, a blush on his cheeks, “C-can I… can I please get just… five minutes with my wife, please?” Doug is begging, a desperation in his tone that even leaves her wondering if he’s changed. If her leaving him has forced him to recognise his behaviour, maybe he had finally realised it wasn’t always her fault.
When Chimney turns to look at her though, it’s easy to forget that thought, Doug has never looked at like that. He’s never been terrified for her, he’s only ever made her terrified of him. He’s never done anything so completely selfless for her as Chimney has countless times (giving up Christmas with people he considers to be family, just to sit in an apartment with her eating Chinese food and watching Die Hard? She’s still in shock someone would do that for her). The man standing directly in front of her is protecting her from the man she’s married to, the man who had hurt her in unspeakable, unforgivable ways.
But she still finds herself terrified that they’ll fall for it, that his charm will win them over and she’ll look as though she was just a woman who wanted to leave her husband but didn’t know how. Did they think she had moved on too quickly into Chimney’s arms? It had been four months, she had fallen out of love with Doug so long ago, had been planning on leaving for six months before she had.
In her strongest moment of doubt, it’s Hen who wraps an arm around her waist, pulling her easily into her side as Eddie joins Buck and Bobby steps in front of the three men. “You’re not coming near her.” Buck is the first to speak, her brothers voice strong and adamant and Hen’s grip on her getting a little tighter.
Doug doesn’t like to be told no. Maddie had to learn that the hard way more than once. Before he even says anything, she finds herself flinching away. “Maddie, we’re married—you can at least give me five minutes of your time to tell me why I came home from a conference to you just… gone. No note, no warning—I almost reported you as a missing person, I would have if your boss hadn’t told me you’d left me—Maddie…”
“Don’t. Don’t you ever talk to her.” When Chimney speaks, Maddie is only a little surprised, she had seen his face when she had described the kind of abuse she had suffered at her husband’s hands. She had seen the usually calm, kind man get a look in his eyes that could only be described as hatred for a man he hadn’t even met. His tone is scathing, his body somehow growing in tension to the point she can even feel Hen’s grip faltering, for even a second, from its position on her waist.
“And who the fuck do you think you are?” And there it is. Act dropped. Her eyes close, unable to see him from where the men of the 118 stand in front of her, but she can imagine the redness of his face, that glazed over look he would get in his eyes before—well, before he would unleash hell on her.
“It doesn’t matter who he is, what matters is that I need you to leave my station.” Bobby’s voice is as calm as ever, authoritative and Maddie can’t help but wonder if even Doug may feel a little intimidated by the man.
“I just need five—”
“You’re not getting anything unless it’s through a divorce lawyer.” Her brother is quick to cut him off once more, and she can imagine the glare on his face and the intensity of which he’s trying to hold back. The eldest of the Buckley’s thinks she knows exactly why Doug would choose this moment in this building to approach her – because he knew Buck would be held back by the restraints of the uniform and his Captain. Doug just hadn’t bargained for the family she had stumbled upon when she ran to her brother, he hadn’t known the strength of the 118.
Maddie feels weak, her chest is tight and every breath is a struggle. A part of her knows she’s safe, that Chimney, Buck, Eddie, Bobby and Hen wouldn’t let him close enough to her to touch her but they can’t be there all the time. They can’t stop him from cornering her in the street, or outside work or inside her apartment. She’s not safe, he knows where she is and she knows exactly what’s going to happen.
She hears the flowers being thrown at someone first, before a not so subtle threat falls from the lips of the man she had married, “Remember what I told you, Maddie. You know how this ends.”
She fights so hard with everything inside of her not to give him the satisfaction of seeing her collapse, her knees buckling beneath her when she’s counted to sixty and she’s sure he’s at least stepped out of the station doors. She knows exactly how it ends, he had promised her more than once – “we’re meant to be together, to live together, grow old together and die together. That’s how this story ends.”

MADDIE BUCKLEY WEEK DAY 4
“if I could, I would kiss away all your scars” + fluff
Again, I tried to be a little bit different with this one. This is my favourite fic I have written for Maddie Buckley Week. All the fluff! 😭 I hope you enjoy it! ❤
P.S. I post early as I am in Australia and we're a good 12 hours ahead.... 😃
_______
“Chim, can you come here a minute, I need some help!” Maddie called from their bathroom. She had just managed to squeeze in a quick shower in between feeding, burping and changing their three month old baby girl, Lily, who was now sound asleep in her bassinet.
“Maddie, are you ok?” Chim pants, practically running into the bathroom. He was almost relieved when he realised why she had called him in, and a small smile formed on his face when he saw his girlfriend standing in front of the mirror wearing nothing but her underwear. Despite the scars and her post baby body, which, she had grown to love, what he saw before him was something more than beautiful.
“Yeah, I just need some help, with this” she responded as she gestured to the small bottle of body oil on the bathroom bench, passing it to Chimney as he proceeded to open it, and add some drops to his finger tips so that he could rub it on her scars. This was something he had been helping out with a lot more lately, especially since she was still recovering, physically, from the slightly dramatic birth of their daughter, which had resulted in an emergency caesarean section.
Maddie practically giggled as Chimney’s cold hand reached her back, rubbing the oil on the scars that had been there since he met her. He knew they were from Doug and that they had caused her hurt and pain. He then moved his hand around towards her abdomen and added a bit more oil before rubbing it onto the scar that had almost killed her and left them both fighting for their lives.
A small, giddy smile formed on his face, as his hand reached her most recent scar. Maddie looked up at him with a smirk. It was probably the one she was most proud of, as it was slowly healing. It was the scar from her caesarean section, on her lower abdomen, which enabled her to safely deliver their healthy baby girl only three months before. Chimney was extra gentle in rubbing the oil on the scar as he knew it was still sensitive to touch. Maddie moved to place her hand on top of his as he gently rubbed it. “Does this hurt?” he asked, cautiously. “No. It’s better now. It is looking good, don’t you think?” she asked, almost scared of what he might reply. “Of course Maddie, it, it, is beautiful. You are beautiful”, he responded, as he pressed a kiss to her forehead. Tears began forming in her eyes as she had to mentally shift her train of thought. She had no idea how she had got so lucky to be with a man who made her so happy, kept her safe and had given her a family.
“It doesn’t bother me in the least, but, if I could, I would kiss away all your scars”, Chimney said, screwing the lid back on to the body oil and placing it on the bathroom bench. “Except maybe this one”, he corrected himself, pointing at her caesarean scar. “I am so proud of you Maddie, and these scars, all of them, just prove how strong and brave you are. You, Maddie, are our hero. I love you”. She cupped his cheeks in both her hands, and pressed a loving kiss to his lips, realising only then she was still standing before him, in her underwear.
Just as they were about to pull apart, they heard a stir from the other room as Lily began squirming. “I guess that’s my cue” he smiled.

When I tell you I ✨ w h e e z e d✨
“That’s it, take it easy, just breathe.” Hmmm gimme either Chim or Maddie having asthma
It’s just gone two in the morning when Chimney finds himself scrambling out of bed at the sound of his girlfriend gasping for air. It’s pure panic that leads to him almost trip over the edge of the rug before he slams his hand down on the light switch so he can frantically glance around for her asthma pump.
They’re usually a bit more organised and a lot more careful but they had practically collapsed in bed after a long day in the aftermath of an earthquake. Both had pulled in over twenty-hour shifts in their respective jobs and Chimney had passed out the second his head hit the pillow and the caffeine high from the two coffee’s he had downed before going to pick his pregnant girlfriend up from dispatch, had passed.
The second he had laid eyes on her, he’d known it would just be one of those days when they got into bed almost immediately. She was just entering her second trimester and the morning sickness was starting to calm down but was still very much present and twenty-hours answering calls after one of the worst earthquakes he had seen in years had meant she looked probably just as, if not more, exhausted than he had.
Relief had come the second she was in his arms and the covers were pulled over them and sleep came easily. Perhaps too easily because barely four hours after, there he was, trying to push past his own sleepiness to make sure she was okay. It’s not until he’s yanking open the drawer next to her side of the bed that he remembers her inhaler had run out and they were meant to replace it that day but… well, things got manic.
The last thing in the world he wants to do right then is leave her whilst she’s sitting there, clearly still fighting the sudden wake up call as her hand moves to her chest but he knows that the spare inhaler they had taken from the drawer the day before is in her bag which she had thrown on the kitchen counter before they had dragged themselves to bed a few hours before. The second he gets there, he almost rolls his eyes at the way his hands are shaking, blaming it on the adrenaline crash and the fact he had been pulled from a rather pleasant dream so suddenly. It’s asthma, he’s seen it probably more times than he would care to count and she’s going to be fine. His hands clasp around the pump before he scrambles his way back to the bedroom, having a word with himself in his head as he reminds himself not to panic.
It’s with a forced smile that he finds her sitting with her legs dangling on the edge of the bed, a grateful smile on her lips when she reaches for the item in his hand. The second he sits next to her, he places it in her waiting hand, watching as she gives it a shake before she places it between parted lips and presses down when his hand moves to her back and rubs gently. “That’s it, take it easy,” Lips press against her cheek, his hand continuing in its movements before she presses down again thirty seconds later, “just breathe.”
Chimney knows in reality they’ve probably only been awake for no longer than two minutes but every time he listens to her gasping for air – even if logically, he knows that most of the time, she’s going to be okay – it still feels like far too long. The image of her suffering in any way, shape or form causes a stab of pain to rush through him every single time and he wishes he could say it gets easier but when the woman he loves can’t breathe, he feels as though he can’t either. It’s only worse now that she’s pregnant, knowing this is something he can’t change or really help with other than rub her back and tell her it’s going to be okay.
He watches when the breathing slows and she takes one more puff of her inhaler when another minute has passed, his lips moving to her shoulder and then her neck, “Thanks.” Maddie mumbles, her grip tightening on the inhaler before she looks at her boyfriend with a smile. “Sorry for the alarm clock.” It’s with a laugh that Chimney shakes his head, moving back to lay down as he pulls her down with him, wrapping his arms around her when her head rests on his chest and she wraps one of her legs around his.
“Didn’t feel like we had enough excitement over the last twenty-four hours anyway.” He teases, nudging his nose into her hair as he closes his eyes, his hand rubbing up and down her back. “Seriously need to pick up your prescription tomorrow—well, today—though.” His lips press to her head, waiting for her to answer, only to be met with the soft sound of her breathing as her grip on his top loosens and he pulls her a little closer, hoping sleep will come quickly for him, too.
