I, unfortunately, do think that this all may result in nothing, but one thing it has brought me is the knowledge of just how badly I'm addicted to YouTube.

One too many times throughout the day did I find myself following my usual routine of closing out my apps and immediately going to open youtube, just to open my email since youtube is no longer there (thank goodness I Uninstalled the night before).

If you aren't boycotting because you believe in the cause, then boycott because you need to spend some time away from the app. I understand if it's nessicary for work or school, but if you find yourself scrolling shorts? Stop. Take a break. Go practice art. Go clean your room. Separate yourself from your device because if you are accessing an app like clockwork. So much that it is a reflex? Then it's a problem. Help yourself and take a break.

Sure, maybe I don't believe in the boycott. There isn't enough of us to take down a monopoly, that's just how it is, sue me if you want that's my point of view, but I'm definitely keeping it uninstalled until I can trust myself not to spend two and a half hours on it daily.

Maybe I'll set a screen time for Tumblr while I'm at it. Average hour and a half a day can not be good for me...

Okay, so here’s the updated plans for fighting against youtube's new ai age policy and privacy violating rule (I believe in us!)

Plan 1. Black out and leave youtube/ youtube boycott (August 13 to the point where the policy is gone)

It’s a very simple plan, but this time we just leave until it’s fully reversed. That way YouTube doesn’t just ignore us and the original black out. We have to stand our ground and show them we aren’t going to give up. We have to last as long as possible and let their revenue drain until they concede or someone else comes in and makes another platform (that isn’t based on politics but the same ideas as the original YouTube)

Plus I would like to add some small extra things that will help with the blackout though. That being mass downloading YouTube content. Now this might be the easiest thing for certain people, but it’s something.

Mass downloading YouTube content can help in case there a couple of videos or channels you want to watch during the blackout.

(I use something called a ytdlp but there might be better options for you out there, there might even be built in ones in a web browser or two, just search around the place, you'll find it eventually)

Forget what I said about alternatives that block YouTube, avoid anything that even remotely connects to YouTube. If it connects to YouTube it still provides traffic and helps it out, we want to disconnect from it completely, don’t let it have a drop of traffic

Plan 2. Bugging the crap out of them.

Now since they have a mail box for us to use, that can be used for our advantage here. So here’s what we do, send them letters asking them to reverse the decision, that way they will be overwhelmed by letters that have to eventually give up. Now I don't want you guys to send out slurs, curses or whatever. I need you guys to be kind and critical. I want you to point everything wrong with this and why it is destined to fail and leave the company crumbling

In addition to these letters, if at all possible, I want you guys to include photos of comments made by other people (Twitter, tumblr, whatever) criticizing this and making it known that it’s not just you guys who are angry, but people all over too.

Now we can also include emails in this, but that might be harder than excepted, but in case you do want to send in a email, you can send it that way

I can't find any other way of sending them an email, but good to you if you do find it (though I would recommend a letter much more)

UPDATE, someone has pointed out that we should all send out our letters on a single day, Im taking around August 5th about a week before the thing actually rolls out and than maybe we’ll do another batch on the 8th just in case

WIP plan 3, legal bull

I wish I could say this plan was finished, but unfortunately, it is not at all. All we have to go for here to filing a complaint towards the FTC about this and or using what this user recommneds (though I can't fully say if it'll work or not)

This plan will be worked on as much as possible

I want everyone if they can to spread to outside of tumblr, talk about it on twitter, facebook, blusky, youtube itself, this plan has to spread to as much people as possible.

I believe we can do our best and shine a light through these horrible times, we can be light in the darkness that will help others shine a burn a hole in this horrible system of censorship

I believe in every last one of you, I believe you can do good and spread good, because in your hearts, you are good

BEFORE THE YOUTUBE BLACKOUT STARTS

boycotting for just a few days wont do much (if any) damage!! if we're gonna boycott, we do it indefinitely until they reverse the update

if you need to, download videos you still want to watch during the blackout

if you cant blackout entirely, at least try to minimize your use of yt as much as you can

TRY TO GET THE ATTENTION OF BIGGER CREATORS ON THE PLATFORM!!!! THE FACT THAT NONE OF THEM ARE TALKING ABOUT THIS IS REALLY CONCERNING

see if you can find alternatives to yt!! newgrounds, glomble, bitview, etc etc

BOMBARD YOUTUBE WITH LETTERS AND FEEDBACK ABOUT WHY THE UPDATE IS A BAD IDEA (BUT DONT BE DOWNRIGHT AGGRESSIVE!!!! BE KIND AND CRITICAL)

About 15 crusades later, my game crashed, and he was waiting for me at the entrance when I rebooted the game 🥺🥺🥺🥺

I love searching for answers on Google and seeing all the ways that The One Who Waits will randomly glitch and leave your cult. Like bro why.

I'm currently stuck with it saying he's in my cult, but he is nowhere to be found, can't assign anything to him ect ect. He was traumatized from the adventure that he ASKED ME TO GO ON, and when I went to get crystals to heal him, I came back, and he's just gone. Come back :(

He messed around with his Miles Electric a little longer, sending a message. It was funny, this eight year old trying to tell her what to do.

"And I can't find a blueprint of this base anyway. I could use a little navigational help."

"WHISPER??"

The kit's voice echoed through the halls as he arrived, probably a good 20 minutes after the signal was sent. It was only a 15-minute flight on the tornado, so the other five was probably spent trying to ward off Sonic coming with him. Must have been weird, considering the hedgehog JUST got home.

"Starline, if you're in here still, I am armed and dangerous-"

Coming around the corner into the room where Whisper lay collapsed, he was indeed armed, his favorite arm canon secured and charged. His ears flicked around, up high and alert, trying to take in every nose he possibly could.

"Whisper-"

The repition of her name was a mixture of continued apprehension and relief. At least he found her.

The wolf was too weak to form a coherent response, only able to muster a soft ‘underprepared’.

As Tails leaned her against the wall, her mask shifted to the side of her face. Written across her features was a look of disappointment, mostly directed toward herself. She was internally kicking herself for letting herself get snuck upon like that.

“Got away. My fault.” She exhaled through a wince, the burning sensation in her arm mostly gone, leaving an unpleasant tingling feeling.

The fox didn't make a move to stop her, however, mirroring her in cleaning up. It wasn't THAT messy. Just lack of effort for throwing out trash. And maybe a few scattered tools and whiteboard markers.

"I. Guess I don't like the inefficiency. I was just so productive a week ago because of that thing, and on top of that, I didn't realize I had literally been microchipped? What kind of genius am I?"

He disappeared for a moment, grabbing a glass of water for himself and the wolf, placing his own on the counter and offering the other to Whisper.

"Still, I'm sorry you walked into this. If you come to visit, you shouldn't be stuck cleaning up someone else's mess."

A quiet knock came from the door of the workshop, almost barely audible, though the fox heard it fairly easily.

Once opened, behind the door was the Resistance’s ‘Guardian Angel’. “Heard about the chip. Wanted to check on you.”

The fox mumbled, waving her in, making sure to close the door behind her. There was... some attempt to clean up since Surge was in here?? A wake-up call, if anything. If Sonic wasn't busy visiting old friends (that's the excuse we're using now), then maybe he could bully his brother into doing it for him. Three seconds flat. Mhm.

Then again, he'd have to explain WHY it looked like this. Maybe it's better that the hedgehog isn't around right now.

"I'm fine, really, just. Chemical stuff. Honestly more of a whiplash than I expected- not that I was planning for this to happen?? I dunno what I'm trying to say. Want something to drink? I think we have lemonade or something. And there's always tapwater."

He tried to shake off whatever funk he was in, smiling at the other.

So, I got this crappy penny whistle/tin flute off of Amazon for my birthday one year, and I'm ashamed to say I've never seriously played it in the time I've had it.
