Since the cast of PLvAA was only the main characters of both franchises with a bunch of original characters, I propose PLvZE goes in a similar direction.

I need to see Layton and Akane in the same room immediately. They’d both be taking notes during their entire conversation.

Half the gameplay would be solving zero’s puzzles and the other half would be solving Layton’s, which would drive Junpei insane. “Junpei my boy, this puzzle with the dishware reminds me of one I once heard about a china cabinet-” *PL puzzle screen starts sliding up* “NO! Nooo for fucks sake professor, can we do this after we escape the dining room?” *the puzzle begins anyway and the song starts playing louder than usual*

Everyone would have so much fluff dialogue to say when you click on random objects it’d be great

Somehow Luke’s ability to talk to animals is explained by him subconsciously tapping into the morphogenetic field to communicate with them

Professor Layton and the New World of Steam is all well and good, but we could really use another wild crossover. It’s been over a decade since PL vs AA dropped. TIME FOR PL VS ZE.

Professor Layton in a killing game. It would fucking rock. The creepy atmospheric music has a hint of accordion. All your old friends who you hate will be there (Don Poalo, your dad). Flora disappears mysteriously in every route. Bad ending #4 is just a still of Luke with a chainsaw covered in blood.

I just fell asleep and had the sleep disorder equivalent of a fever dream. Everything was super realistic, and there was other stuff happening, but I decided to check tumblr in the dream to make myself less anxious. The first thing I see is people posting about a new Layton trailer in which it was revealed that Desmond quit being Descole and Henry decided to take over. It was a 2D cutscene, and he was giving a speech in front of an army of minions, and the fandom was freaking tf out. This is huge you guys. I can’t believe Henry villain arc

It just hit me today in the shower, after many long years, that Umid’s name is a pun on humid. Like if you say it with Luke’s accent. Because he lives in a town full of moss. Is this news to anyone else or am I stupid

One of my fav gaming YouTubers recently started playing Curious Village after YEARSSSS of fans urging him to get into the series and yeah I kind of forgot how chill the story of that game is compared to everything that comes after. He said CV feels primarily like a puzzle game with a story just added in to tie it together which was kind of the original idea, but when I think back to Layton I’m like yeah, the games where each installment ends in major character death and everyone cries! But no they really do spend a long ass time chasing a runaway cat in the first game.

Okay question that I’m not sure you guys will know the answer to, but is “my injuries were so jolly I was Christmas for a month” the origin of that meme? I’ve seen a handful of similar memes, especially last year on insta, where dark moments from fiction were edited over to be wholesome and Christmasy. They only started popping up recently though, and the Layton post is much older. Was that the blueprint, or was it also inspired by an even older jolly meme?

My calling-it-now NWOS prediction is that the soundtrack is gonna incorporate banjos this time. Fiddles are a given, and it’s not Layton without accordion, but in a game where the mysterious evil guy is a gun-toting American cowboy they’ve gotta sell the Wild West ambience. Bonus prediction is that the cowboy will have some sort of harmonica theme play when he shows up.
