A major change for those living in New York, going from jail time and permanent record marks to a minimum of $50 fine shows big strides as advocates made their voices heard. Considering their failed attempts and fumblings of recreational legalization New York seems to be on a strong path once again. Changes like this allow for less arrest of those dissportionally affected by prohibition and instead stops the waste of tax payers dollars on incarceration and brings in a trickle revenue for the state.
