Name: Simon Beckwith Clan: Toreador Generation: 11th Apparent Age: 30~ Actual Age: 250~

Time heals all wounds as they say, and Simon has around 250 years worth under his belt. Born in Britain, Simon Beckwith often thinks of his father’s smile before he was sent to fight in the Revolutionary War, the last he would ever see of him. He and his brother Johnwere raised by their mother, who taught him to cook as he grew to manage the kitchen of the family tavern. His loving home would soon be shattered as he and his brother were turned by an unknown guest, John’s ensuing frenzy resulting in their death of their mother, forcing Simon to put a final end to his rampage.

After fleeing the country, he would eventually embark on a quest to visit the culinary capitals of the world to learn to cook for patrons both human and vampiric. He would come to Columbus in the 50s, seeing it as a sleepy city where his inability to age could go unnoticed while still working within a vibrant culinary scene. In his professional life he now works as a star chef at Marcellas, while in his spare time he seeks to create more appetizing and humane ways to consume blood.

He tends to avoid interacting with the larger conflicts and politics of the vampire world, yet his social oddities seem to attract a variety of interesting characters to him. Perhaps it is an opening to kinship which will help him realize his dream of revisiting that taste of home from centuries ago.

Lattie’s Logbook Entry

The people I have been assigned to work with on this blood hunt are interesting... We haven’t formally introduced ourselves to one another, but I am at least getting to know them.

The Malkavian of the group seems to just want to pick a fight with anyone she can. She’s very determined to get this blood hunt started, so I have been mainly following her. The other reason why is that she seems like trouble. After the first fight, she tried to jet off in Rhiannon’s car to Wexner’s mansion without anyone knowing. She led the group through the woods to the mansion while looking intimidating. If I want to complete this investigation, I need to keep an eye on whether she accidentally destroys evidence or draws attention to us. However, she does seem capable. She disguised herself as Wexner to try to get us through. It also seems she can lengthen her tongue to help fight? I was not aware Malkavians could do this. Anyways, while investigating the mansion, I noticed her skin suddenly developed a red tinge to it and she had small bumps forming on the crown of her head. When I tried to tell her and the others about it, no one believed me. I am a little upset that no one believed me…

Bruce, a Tremere, is the social person of the group. He already knew the Gangrel of the group and made friends with two of the others (Simon and Rhiannon). However, he did try to throw me at the mage we encountered earlier, which did not work out too well. Bruce also seems to not be the stealthiest of the group. He drew the attention of a gargoyle that led us to a second fight. When we further investigate areas in the future, I plan to avoid him. Or, at least put some distance between me and him. However, it does look like he can handle himself in a fight.

The Gangrel also seems like a people person. He was friendly with everyone and did try to talk with us all. He seems like a protective type as well. When Rhiannon disappeared from the first fight, he wanted to check on her. This protective nature also came out when he warned Bruce about an attack as we were heading to Wexner’s mansion in the woods. However, during this fight, he walked off after smelling something. I wonder what he went to find?

Simon, the Toreador of the group, keeps advertising his restaurant and flirting with people. I wonder if that is a tactic to draw in more customers? I don’t care much for flirting, but I would be interested in studying it some. Besides the kitchen, Simon also seems to be good at using knives in combat. This makes me question what other skills he has…

Rhiannon, a Banu Haqim, has my full respect. She disappeared with a sentient tree during our first fight and came back alive. She was also the one to discover the entrance to the basement lab in Wexner’s house. However, I haven’t been around her enough to gauge her personality.

During our second fight, an old vampire (8th century according to Rhiannon) suddenly appeared. He was above 7ft and had long bone-like claws. He referred to me as a “little dust bunny” (whatever that means), and asked for the prince. As the prince position was handed over to my former clan primogen just beforehand, it makes me wonder what this being wants with him? Whatever the case, I was in fear of this being. He didn’t attack me, but my instincts said this vampire was dangerous. Like I was prey caught in the line of sight of a predator. I noticed that no one else in the group reacted the same way as me when they met this vampire. I wonder why I was the only one impacted by this… Anyways, this fear was proven to be justified. I witnessed this vampire take a hit from a gargoyle before instantly killing him and a nearby ghoul. Luckily, he saw a bat and decided to follow it to find the prince. After he left, I informed leaders within the clan to warn the prince of this instance.

Wexner’s mansion had some information, but it was in disarray. As I searched his office, I noticed many papers scattered about. Most were around the medical center named after him. However, there were some interesting ones related to inventory being moved around. When we were investigating the bedroom, we discovered a hidden entrance to the basement. As the rest were arguing with one another, I started to head down there by myself. When I descended, the room was familiar to me. It was sterile and looked like a surgeon’s room. There was a clear glass that revealed cages of experiments, like a human-spider hybrid. Oddly enough, I felt a kinship connection towards the creatures in the cages. Could this have been where I was for those twenty-five years?

Oh man, and that drive after Elysium. That was a mess.

So here I am, with, a bunch of folks I’ve never met, driving to Wexner’s mansion, when a Mage with a grudge rips off the hood of this nice lady’s car and tries to impale me.

This guy. Ohoo ho, this guy. Let me tell you about this guy.

See, Me and Avi went to Ikea the other day, with some nice undead folk we met there; when this mage comes up and traps us in the hallways in the ikea. We escape only after bein forced to make a deal with ‘im: stop a murder in Elysium.

So we’re fighting this guy, and it aint going too badly ‘cept for the fact he floats. Rhianon got chased by a tree, and got separated from us. This lanky gal with the squirrel asks me to throw her at the mage? It might've been a joke, but I didn't have any other options, so I decided to chuck her and hope for the best.

*ahem* so yeah it was going great. We had ‘em on the ropes! And then, the cavalry arrived! Lemon, Viola, Nolan, and another blonde burly looking fella joined us for assistance.

… Well, the two with guns missed all their shots, Lemon did nothing, and Viola, did some mind trick and made everyone else stop fighting the mage! So he got away. *Sigh*, anyway though. Don't look like the Mage was gonna come back for us. We roughed him up good.

Viola said it was some power of friendship skill, but that's some crazy powerful Malkavian crap from someone whomst I don't know whose side they're on.

Anyway, I went off and followed my Malkavian, Mina, as she started Rhianon’s now stolen car. I texted the group chat to let her know, she seemed fine, and she was the one gunning to go to the house first, so there we went.

And went just as well as the rest of the night. We wandered in, expecting an empty mansion, when not even two steps into the forest I got shot at, and pinned to the ground by an enormous gargoyle made of stone.

What a wonderful mess.

Name: Viola Ann Batko Generation: 11th Clan: Malkavian Apparent Age: 22 Actual Age: 66

Born and raised in communist Poland, Viola dreamed of becoming an astrophysicist. Her family eventually helped her escape Eastern Europe to go to the United States to attend the University of Chicago. Unfortunately, she was embraced while traveling by a sire who immediately abandoned her. She made her way to Chicago where she did get to attend the university... unfortunately, classes aren't very "vampire friendly" there, and she spend about 14 years taking night time and online classes and still hadn't gotten her degree yet.

Chaos struck Chicago, practically turning it into a ghost city. Viola was lucky enough to get out alive—along with her childer, Count Vacuula, a roomba she fed blood to who somehow gained intelligence and even disciplines. She traveled to Columbus along with some other survivors and transferred to the Ohio State University. Lucky for her, they offer more online classes than Chicago did!

Vilhelmina Rissanen showed up in Columbus, Ohio several years ago with no memory of who she was or where she came from. She knew her name, that she was Finnish, and that there was a voice in her head that is her only connection to her past—but he won’t give too much information, and the info he does give often leads to very dangerous situations. She has become convinced that she is not your average vampire: she is a clone. She believes this wholeheartedly and is deadset on finding her "original self."

While she tries to rediscover herself, she settled down in Columbus since she figured there had to be a reason she came there. The Malkavian Clan claimed her, and she is a respected elder within their ranks. She now works at the Magnolia Thunderpussy record shop where she has discovered her love for 80’s rock music. Her closest friend and roommate is the Toreador Devi LeClair, and while their clans are at war they have an agreement everyone begrudgingly respects that exempts them from feuding with one another.
