It's missing Disney hours 😭

I'm so glad to still receive asks on this blog years and years after the shows finished. While it's very limited, I do have a couple of old shows subbed on youtube so I'd love for you to check them out if you haven't already!

A fun fact, I've since become unbearable obnoxious about the online game Final Fantasy XIV, but I was recently met with a familiar location!! If you've played the game or don't mind being spoiled for the locations in the FFXIV expansion Dawntrail (7.0), I'd also recommend you having a look at this video ;)

I'm curious if you've played, seen or have any opinions on Twisted Wonderland.

I have! I've been playing Twisted Wonderland on and off since it first released (5 years ago?!), my favourite characters are Trey, Ace and Deuce!

Honestly I'm conflicted, as a Recruiter's fan it's very exciting to see something so heavily influenced by them made so accessible, but a part of me also knows it's not really anything like what I loved about the Recruiters.

None the less, I enjoy the art and story and am curious about what the animated project will look like this October!

Yes! I've loved seeing all the new dancers for Into the Frenzy! I feel like it's been a long time since either park went all out on a whole new set of dancers, it felt almost nostalgic 😭

Years after the Recruiters finished their jobs here in the Land of Dreams, it excites me that they are still so loved.

I went digging into my old folders and found some photos I hadn't uploaded- I've had to sharpen them to the beyond and back so pardon the quality, I hope you enjoy them!

Do you know any info about the Spooky Boo Parade characters? I love their designs but there isn’t any English info about them

Hi there!

The Spooky Boo floats are all based off rides at Tokyo Disneyland and the dancers are loosely tied to them, but generally just "Halloween themed"- zombies, pumpkins, crows, skeletons etc.

The show itself is that they're all ghosts and the parade is enticing guests to come join the world of ghosts and have some fun together.

The only one I've heard lore for is the bride who may be loosely based off Constance Hatchaway, the bride found in the Haunted Mansion.

I managed to catch Spooky Boo once during it's run so I'll try to find my photos tomorrow!

I think at the beginning of August I was thinking about the Recruiters, and if they would be back. It's sad they won't be, but now that they did make that appearance last year, its gotten my hopes up they might come back again!

I totally understand, thinking about the world situation I totally see why they only came back for that little bit.

Personally, while I miss them a lot, I think they got an amazing send off so it'd almost be sad to see them come back, but I know that if they ever did, I would leap at the chance to see them again!

Hey, I saw your reply about purple team headcanons and loved it. But near the end you mentioned the connections Joe has to other characters in the park, specifically Ocean. What are your thoughts for their backstory and their relationship? If you wanna share of course :)

I absolutely adore stories/ideas/comics where there are crossovers. I don't know if I have solid headcanons or I just kind of accept whatever art I see haha.

I did draw this comic YEARS ago where I thought it'd be interesting if Joe were a merman who made a deal with Ursula to make Ocean human so that Ocean could be with his Fashionable Easter friends OvO. You can see it here!

I'm definitely flexible but I do like the idea that Joe was from the mer-kingdom, that maybe even Ursula and the other Villains are 'nasty folk' but like amoungst the other Disney characters so Joe and everyone co-exist with the other parade characters, other shows, movie characters etc.

Naturally this means he's friends with Ocean and Ariel etc. I've seen some gorgeous art of them all and I LOVE the idea of them being childhood friends. I think Joe has a hard time making friends but he gets roped along with overly friendly or curious people. It makes me think of how early in the first year of Recruiters, someone asked Joe if he's friends with the other Recruiters and he said he didn't need friends, but in 2018 at his final show, Joe is the one to say "Even we villains know friendship".

So I know your headcanons for Malfie n Joe are platonic- but I just wanted to say that their shipname is Black Ink which I loveee and totes think can be applied to their duo name even as friends

Hi! Been thinking more than I should about the recruiters and I wanted to ask if you had any random headcanons about purple team (specifically Joe and Malfie). I just love them and their friendship so much.

ASHGRH purple team I love them too!

I adore their dynamic with Malfie as someone who seems kinda laid back and optimistic while Joe is brooding and moaning and groaning about over time.

I don’t think I have any specific headcanons but if I were to give it a think:

- Joe and Malfie get along because they both treat Recruiting as work- Malfie because of his loyalty to Maleficent and pride that she’s usually the “lead” Villain in other Disney programs and Joe out of obligation.

- Joe has a secret tie to “something else” that Malfie had always been suspicious of, he prods but knows when to step back when Joe gets defensive (Joe is strangely close to some other denizens of the park, such as my headcanons that Joe and Ocean from Fashionable Easter are childhood friends)

That’s all I can think of for now!

Happy 7 years to the day that changed my life

I realised I never shared this here but last year, I got recruited by Apple at Disneysea. It was a true Disney Princess moment for me and I’d like to share it!

During the intros, Apple was correcting Hook’s poor pronunciation of English words. Afterwards, he got paired with this frightened Aussie- not gonna lie, it felt like fate. When I told him my Japanese wasn’t great, he immediately switched to English and I swear my knees were weak.

After I said yes to joining the villains and returning to the Tower of Terror 666 years from now, Apple walked me back to my seat and said in perfect English; “I’ll be waiting for you”

Not that anyone asked, but yes, this is why after Halloween, my art started focusing on Apple instead of Jack (who I’m still mad at for being there all week except the day we went)

Are the disneySea Recruiters still around? If not, then why did it stop?

They’re not, they only ran from 2015-2018, with a special cameo at Tokyo Disneyland in 2022 (likely an unintended appearance due to the pandemic).

Most seasonal programs at Tokyo Disney Resort run for 3-4 years before they change it up, just to keep things fresh. The Recruiters were replaced by Festival of Mystique.

While I’m sure many people wanted it to go on for longer (myself included), the shows were very respectful for the ongoing support, the final year, 2018, had all Recruiters saying goodbye and thank you to park goers. You can find the translations for these speeches under 666 translations

Celebrate Tokyo Disneyland's 40th Anniversary with a limited anniversary, fully customizable keep sake. Hi this is the main account for @yourgildedcage I'm featuring the recruiters in a special Halloween fic and want to make a last minute ask about the Recruiters personalities. (I'm aware I can search around Tumblr but I like having multiple sources)

If all the main recruiters are too much I can settle for Apple Poison, Malfie and Jack Heart.

Hi there, I'm always happy to be a source of info for the Recruiters! You've probably seen it but I do have a intro post on each Recruiter here if that's helpful at all: link

I'm not sure what info you'd like exactly so I'll do a basic summary of their personalities. Hope it helps!

Apple Poison: The stoic, tall, dark and handsome "uncle" of the Recruiters. He's professional and takes his job seriously, when he goofs off it doesn't seem to be on purpose but he's just funny like that.

Jack Heart: The natural "Entertainer" Jack is very bouncy and acts like he's always in the spotlight. He has young, playful energy but can be a bit of a brat, such as when he picks fights with Apple or is dismissive of other's Masters.

Mr Dalmetia (Daru): He is the personification of a puppy so naturally he is bratty and full of energy. He will pick fights by teasing others and he gets along really well with Jack. He does not hide his emotions and will jump on you if he's happy and bark at you if he's not.

Malfie: The Narcissist of the group, nothing matters more to Malfie than his own appearance and telling others how beautiful he is. Overall he gets along with everyone, he's not as outspoken as say Jack or Daru but will eagerly participate in conversation

Eight-foot Joe: He's just a tired guy here to do his job. He performs at the bare minimum of what is required of him but seems to genuinely care for the other Recruiters who have become his family. He is mostly dismissive or reluctant to participate in antics but can be seen chatting away in the background.

Lady Pirate Hock: She is very serious and takes on the role of a big sister to the other ladies- she is authoritative and can often be seen flirting with Veil and Farja. She takes her job seriously and clearly holds great pride in being a pirate in Captain Hook's crew.

Veil: She can seem a little air headed but she clearly takes her job seriously. She is devoted to her master and her roots, with the motif of the bell of Notre Dame, she sings most of her feelings and has an amazing voice. She is often picked on by the men because she's less likely to snap back at them.

Pretty Scar: She's energetic and loud but also very "cutesy" which is seem as a bad image for a villain. She's the type that would say "UwU" unironically and ask you isn't she "so pweety and cyute". She is madly in love with Daru and clings to him any chance she gets and while she doesn't seem to get along very well with any of the others, she holds pride in herself.

Farja: The other louder member of the ladies group, Farja is obnoxious and the brattiest of the women. She will straight up ask for praise and get mad if you don't give it to her, she could be considered selfish but gets along with the others well enough. Farja loves magic tricks and teasing others.

Ms Hades: She's the more standoffish, 'cool' one of the ladies. She is here to do her job and that's about it. She will have quiet conversations with the others but usually keeps to herself. She is professional and graceful but is the type that gets giddy and excited at mentions of her master.
