May She Always Know
I want my daughter
to know her own strength,
to know love without borders,
and dream at great length.
I hope she is brave,
and I hope she reads books,
when people say she’s pretty -
she’ll know it’s more than her looks.
For she’s pretty smart,
and she’s pretty kind.
May she be heard for her voice,
and seen for her mind.
As she grows into a woman
I hope she stands strong.
For some will try to knock her,
but I hope she holds on.
Because her power is great,
and cannot be measured.
Her passion and vulnerability
should always be treasured.
May she know the difference
between right and wrong,
not because of some rules,
but what is in her heart’s song.
May she question the narrative,
make choices, speak clear.
May she never repeat herself
out of doubt or fear.
May she strive for big things
in a world that screams thin,
just as a man’s size does not define him.
I hope she sticks up for those who need it,
herself included; I hope she believes it.
May no one dim her light,
May it shine
May it grow
What a force that she is.
May she always know.

A beautiful writeup from Sudha Murthy
I feel . . .
"Barely the
_Day Started_
and . . . it's
_Already six in the evening_
Barely
_Monday Arrived . . ._
And it's
_Already Friday_ . . .
Before we could _Realise_ . . .
The _Month_ is
_Already Over . . ._
And, And . . .
_The Year is Almost Over_
As of now . .
Already
_40, 50, 60 or 70+_
_Years of Our Lives_
have passed . . .
. . . And Suddenly
_We Realise_
that
we
Lost our
_Parents_ . . .
_Friends . . ._
and some
_Beloved Ones. . . ._
And than we _Realize_ it's
_Too Late to Go Back . . ._
So . . .
_Despite Everything . . ._
Let's Try . . .
To
_Enjoy the Remaining Time . . ._
Let's keep looking for _Activities_ that _we like . . ._
Let's put some _Color_ in our _Grey_ (if we aren't _Bald_ yet) . . .
Let's _Smile_ at the
_Little Things in Life_
that put
_Balm in our Hearts_ . . .
And despite
_Our Physical Discomfort_ . . .
Lets continue to
_Enjoy_ with _Serenity_ the _Time Left in Us . . ._
Basically the implied meaning of this _Message_ is
That
Let's try to
_Eliminate_
_The Afters_ . . .
I'm _Doing_ it _After_ . . .
I'll _Say After_ . . .
I'll _Think_ about it _After_ . . .
Yes . . .
We are habituated to _Leave everything_ to
_Postponing_. . .
High time we understand
′′ _After_ ′′ is
" _Never Ours ". . ._
_Aren't We Aware . . ._
_Afterwards Means_ ,
The _Coffee_ gets _Cold_ . . .
_Afterwards Means_ ,
_Our Priorities_ tend to _Change_ . . .
_Afterwards_ _Means_ , the _Charm_ is _Broken_ . . .
_Afterwards_ _Means_ _Health Passes . . ._
_Afterwards Means . . ._
_The Day_ becomes
_The Night . . ._
And
_Suddenly Afterwards_ _Life Ends . . ._
So . . .
Let's _Leave Nothing_ for _Later_ . . .
If we continue to
_Harp_ on
_Afterwards/Later Syndrome_ . . .
We will _Lose_ the
_Best Moments_ . . .
_Best Experiences_ . . .
_Best Friends . . ._
_Best Time_ with _Family_ . .
Lets Wake Up . . .
Realise
_The Day is Today . . ._
_The Moment is Now . . ._
_Lets Face Stark_
_Reality_ . . .
We are
_No Longer_
at the
_Age_
where we can
_Afford to Postpone_ . . .
Hope You have
_Time to Read_
this Message and Share it with
_Like Minded_
Similar Aged Persons who
_No Longer_
_Have Luxury_
_To Postpone_ . . .
(Or maybe you'll leave it for . . . "_Later_ " . . .
And you'll never Share it . . . )

must know they're unattractive

"May you never be the reason why someone who
loved to sing, doesn't any more. Or why someone who
dressed so differently now wears standard clothing.
Or why someone who always spoke of their dreams so
wildly is now silent about them. May you never be the
reason of someone giving up on a part of them
because you were demotivating, non appreciative or
-even worse- sarcastic about it." - Shorouk Mostafa

Caught this in the theatre over the weekend.
An absolute treat. horror comedy done right.
I went in expecting to just laugh and have a gala time,
but ended up hiding behind popeorn for most of it.
Full disclosure- I am easily spooked.
The horror elements were terrifying,
especially cause it has such a sense of familiarity to it.
Like it could happen to anyone. And the fact that it's inspired
from real life incidents makes it all the more intriguing.
Also the music by Sushin Shyam is just..
I quess there would be an OTT release soon…so don't miss it

UNDER CAREFULLY ARRANGED MASKS
Recently, my wife and I went to a clinic for a health check-up. The nurse took our blood pressure readings and asked for our ages. “41” my wife told her, and looked at me with a farcical expression of disbelief. Then it was my turn. “44”, I told the nurse, gave my wife the same surprised expression, and we laughed. Though we know our ages, they don’t feel real until we utter the actual numbers in cases like these. Then the truth suddenly hits us. We are not young and carefree anymore. We are older. In a consumer survey, we would fall in the ‘middle-aged’ bracket. But something stubborn inside us nurtures the pleasant illusion that we are still young in this world, with a lot of time before the really hard stuff begins, with a lot of time to make everything right, to make it all count. Time marches on. Bodies and duties change. But under their carefully arranged masks, the mind and the heart do not change. They want the same things that made them happy many years ago. A book to live inside. A song to dance to. Someone to love.

SILENT LOVE
"It's over" She said to him, averting her misted gaze to the floor.
A solitary tear dripped onto the wooden slats; the gentle whisper of it's drop seemed to hit the silence like a nail down a dusty chalkboard.
She wanted him to grab her by the waist and tell her that it could never be over; that nothing in the world could ever come between them; that he knew he had been distant but he was ready to love her right now, this minute...
It seemed to take an eternity for him to pick his chunky car keys from the table; the jangle of metal haunting the heavy air. Lifetimes flushed from her surrendered eyes as he slowly walked away, out of the door; out of her life.
She sat there, in her own puddled thoughts of regret, wondering how their love got so lost.
He sat in his car and turned the key. There was so much he wanted to say to her; he wanted to grab her by the waist and tell her how much he really loved her and that their love could never die; how nothing in the world could ever come between them; how he was sorry he had been distant but he was ready to love her right now...
As he drove away, he wallowed in his own puddles of thought and wondered how their love got so lost.
If only they knew how lost they were in each other, and that they could spend a whole lifetime trying to find themselves again.

Living is not merely going to the office, or passing examinations, or having children, or the everlasting struggle for bread and butter; that is only part of it. Living also implies seeing the trees, the sunlight on the river, a bird on the wing, the moon through the clouds; it is to be aware of smiles and tears, of turmoil's and anxieties; it is to know love, to be gentle, compassionate, and to perceive the extraordinary depth and width of existence.
