Of Mama Bears and Overprotective Siblings Pt. 1

It's on the winter of his first year in Mashiba Junior High that he presented. Normally one would go through an exam in elementary school and the results were given to the parents who chose the time to inform their child what classification they were. He hadn't been entirely surprised that his father forgot to mention it at all. Or he brushed it aside as if it didn't matter. Ichigo would have choked the idiot if it wasn't because it had already been done by his sisters.

Ichigo is an Omega.

Just like his mom is was-

His first heat had him losing a fight badly when the worse of the symptoms presented and was nearly robbed of something he had never realized was precious. It was because of their instincts. He started to resent that word. Instincts. Fate. It was all annoying to be chosen for something he didn't want, and that made his younger sister protect him when he as the older brother should be protecting her.

Yuzu was an Alpha.

It didn't cause any feelings like the ones he was warned of at the supplementary lessons he was given in Health Class. That in spite of being family if there was an Alpha in your family (like Oyaji wasn't irritating enough) in spite of blood relations being an Omega could make him see them as potential partners. That was disgusting enough to think about especially when his heats come once a month and his dad closes the Clinic to go off who knows where until its over. He tried bringing his sister along who nearly went off on him for trying. It was her instincts as Alpha.

They were protective rather than dominating.

It was also very, very rare.

Karin was a Beta, she didn't have to worry about heats and Yuzu's hasn't gotten hers, or at least his heat didn't cause hers to trigger. If she has gotten it, she certainly hasn't told him about it. And that was a nightmare to think about. His little sisters were growing up.

Ichigo becomes a Shinigami and later meets an Alpha named Grimmjow who hates him - he later finds out it's because the Arrancar didn't understand him - and tries to kill him 3 times. He doesn't tell Yuzu about it even though she's been on edge for the longest that he thinks she's going to snap soon. It has her practically bathing him in her scent and is hostile towards Rukia (the Shinigami he got his powers from and later saved because it was illegal to give human powers) who is a Beta. He tells her about Grimmjow though. It drew such an odd expression on her face and she tells him that he will get it eventually.

Ichigo wants to bear his neck yet he refuses to do it so easily. Besides, it's not like Grimmjow even would consider it.

Ichigo becomes an ordinary Human and he later yearns for an Alpha that may, or may not be dead.

He gets a heat that nearly lasts all month.

"Like clockwork" he mutters waking to tangled limbs and his face on caramel brown hair. Its of no surprise to find his sister in his bed after his heat as it has been a normal occurence the past 3 years. He feels groggy and exhausted, but the scent of Alpha is strong and he wants to stay there in bed over the calm he feels. Yuzu doesn't stir as he turns his head to look out the window and nearly screams in shock at a pair of blue eyes glaring menacingly at him.

Wait, no.

Yuzu

"Why are you scared?" his sister mumbles as she nuzzles his neck causing him to calm. It still didn't make the glare go away. "Hmm?" he freezes when her hackles raise and there's a snarl forming in her lips as she lifts her head to the window. "Alpha" she snarled that he is deciding that he's not hallucinating and that's really Grimmjow. Also, he feels very small. He was curling up to hide behind his covers as his heart pounded at the dominating sensation that washed over him.

"He's mine"

"Says who?

"My mark on his neck" Ichigo freezers as his hand shoots towards the back of his neck. It feels tender and sensitive, but not exactly painful. Yuzu pulls at the covers giving him a look that he tilts his head to show her and she makes a sound of surprise before she sniffs the room. There's shock and realization when she looks back at him alarmed.

"Onii-chan..." she begins carefully

"I don't remember" her eyes narrow and her pupils blow wide in rage "not like that!" Ichigo argues even though it was like that. "My heat...it's hazy" she pursed her lips as she was considering her options.

"If you hurt him, you're leaving" she warned as she yanked the window open "Ichigo" she looks at him worried now.

"I'll be fine"

It's be nice if he could actually believe that.

"Kurosaki" Grimmjow growled annoyed, he was grabbing him by the wrist to yank him off the bed and ripped off the sheets. Like they stinked. He wonders briefly if that was an Alpha thing, he's held tightly against the Arrancar who feels too hard against his much fragile skin and feels nervous about the gap in strength. "Tch" Yuzu has left the room, and he's dragged over to the mattress pressed towards the wall as the Arrancar drapes himself over him and Ichigo doesn't mind.

At least not until it becomes difficult to breathe.
