they are so interwined and at the same time, angel would like not to see himself as angelus. he sees angelus as the demonic desires he keeps on hidding and due to how the demon takes shape on the human you once were, perhaps the human desires he once had. angel's struggle against angelus despite many people separating them is that he has angelus memories, he has every kill, torutre he had ever done in his mind.

angelus sees angel as week, we have canon evidence he is mostly annoyed with him and any plan that tries to get him back ensouled, then he would do whatever he can to stop it. angelus in his place, remembers the guilt, remember the love buffy made him feel, remembers the reminds of being human, the blissful happiness and he is appaelled for it.

in many ways, they are two parts of a whole, in a another, i think they are each other's fears, what the other fears. angelus fears to be weak and controlled by love, angel fears controlled by passion and let his demons control him.

"I'm   sure   you   will   get   over   it.   That   scrunchie   had   a   good   run."   And   the   rarity   that   is   seeing   Angel   smile   comes   alive   when   he   is   around   her.   No   one   can   doubt   the   effect   she   has   on   him   at   that   moment.   She   doesn't   need   his   help   and   sometimes,   he   just   likes   to   stay   behind   and   watch   her   go,   in   her   habitat   as   a   Slayer.   "Hm.   Maybe   I   just   missed   you."   Which   he   always   does   and   that   was   the   perpetual   fact   after   their   separation,   a   mutual   agreement,   on   his   insistence,   but   nevertheless,   he   misses   her.  

He   pushes   himself   from   the   crypt   he   had   been   resting   his   body   on   and   walks   her   way,   meeting   in   the   middle.   "No   death   visions   this   time.   Just.   .   .call   it   homesick."   And   he   had   many   homes   across   the   ages   but   none   compared   to   her.   Ireland   was   far   long   ago   and   whatever   remain   of   his   original   home   was   surely   turned   into   a   hotel   or   something,   he   never   bothered   to   look.   Darla   was   gone   and   so   was   the   soulless   monster   he   had   been.   She   was   the   one   thing   that   remain,   where   he   found   his   heart.   "You   look   good."

ㅤㅤㅤSHE CAN ALWAYS FEEL WHEN HE'S NEAR. It's a feeling Buffy holds so dear that she sometimes tries to recall the sensation by memory alone, the same way a person might try to remember the feeling of their first kiss or their favorite smells or tastes. Sometimes it works well enough she can pretend he is there somewhere, watching over her in the shadows. Most of the time it's only an idle imagination, but the thought brings her comfort nonetheless. Angel may be a creature of the shadows, but her world is brighter when he's there.

ㅤㅤㅤSo when he does appear, Buffy cannot help the soft smile that broadens across her features. ❝ Hey stranger. ❞ Digits turn under her own hair, tousled by her escapades that evening, pushing the fallen strands away from her face. One good thing about being perpetually in love with a vampire is that he always looks as gorgeous as the day they first met. ❝ Glad you liked the show. Hope you caught the part where my favorite scrunchie broke. It was devastating. ❞ The Slayer's hands cross behind her back, easy steps slowly bringing her closer. ❝ What brings you back around? been listening to a rewatch podcast of angel and the way the girls that conduct it are so excited about it and they are fans of angel 100% and bangel stans is so wholesome. some of their thoughts are spot on with my own.

He   laughs   then,   eyes   brighten   up.   "Oh   yes,   not   my   fault   really,   I   had   a   little   bit   of   an   issue   going   on,   but   don't   worry.   I   can   show   you   how   fun   I   can   be.   But   surely   you   read   all   about   it   in   your   little   history   search."   Angelus,   the   scorch   of   Europe,   the   one   with   the   angelic   face.   And   she   hasn't   even   gotten   to   the   best   parts   of   his   tales.   Personally,   he   is   fond   of   Drusilla   as   the   walking   reminder   of   what   he   can   do,   or   perhaps   in   a   few   years   time,   little   Giles   would   speak   up   of   the   painting   he   did   of   sweet   Jenny.   He   can   be   called   many   things,   but   he   enjoys   being   seen   as   an   artist.  

"Uhm.   I   beg   to   differ   though.   Killing   my   father   brought   up   the   man   I   was   inside.   Freud   would   be   proud,   I   think.   Then   again   ,I   did   kill   everyone   else   that   night."   He   steps   closer,   one,   two,   three   and   eyes   open   in   slight   faud   surprise,   a   hand   to   his   unbeating   heart.   "RIght.   He   didn't   told   you   about   the   curse.   He   was   always   so.   .   .secret   about   it.   It's   more   like   what   has   gotten   out   of   me.   And   honestly?   I   would   think   this   is   an   improvement   ,Kate.   At   least   I   can   hold   a   conversation."   Another   step   closer,   as   the   vampire   closes   off   the   distance.   "You   are   talking   with   the   real   deal   here,   sweetheart.   The   ony   you   read   so   much   about.   Honestly?   I'm   blushing.   I   do   like   the   attention."   

ㅤㅤㅤSOMETHING IS WRONG WITH ANGEL. The way he speaks, the way he moves, it's all off somehow. Even the smile looks almost right, but not quite. Worst of all is the look in his eyes. Like he would eat her alive on a whim. ❝ I don't think you're one to judge when it comes to being stiff. You're not exactly known for being the life of the party. ❞ Brows furrow in unravelling confusion. Is he referring to himself? To Angel? But he is Angel . . . isn't he ? This has to be a trick of some kind. Angel would never say these things. Or would he? How much did she really know him? He was always good at hiding things from her.

ㅤㅤㅤ❝ Well, seeing your father dead isn't exactly something that warms a girl up. ❞ Kate swallows, uneasy eyes kept on ❛ Angel ❜ , unsure of how to take this accusation. Can you call it teasing if it was all sincere ? She had liked Angel, perhaps a lot more than she should have. At least, she liked the man he had pretended to be. These days she's not sure which parts were real and which were just a means to an end. This new attitude only serves to make it all so much more confusing. Kate absently reaches for the cross charm of her necklace, rubbing the metal with her thumb. ❝ Make up my mind? What the hell has gotten into you ? ❞

The   reality   of   life   is   that   no   matter   how   much   time   happens   between   then   and   now,   he   can   feel   her   presence   anywhere.   It's   almost   startling.   Vampire   sire   bond   worked   in   a   similar   manner,   knowing   where   Darla   and   his   fledglings   were   if   around   but   with   Buffy,   there   is   no   sireline   involved.   Just   an   unspoken   tether   line   that   ties   them   together   and   he   doesn't   want   to   break.

  "Hey."   The   vampire   speaks   once   they   cross   path,   the   initial   surprise   might   be   gone   as   he   looks   over,   a   smile   spreading   on   his   lips.   He   always   takes   some   time   to   watch   her,   see   what   changed,   see   what   remains   the   same.   "I   do   love   watching   you   work." @dcviline for buffy.

"My   boy   sure   does   have   type   doesn't   he?   You   are   a   looker,   sweetheart.   Shame   you   are   so   stiff,   but   what   else   can   be   expected   from   a   cop?"   Accent   slims   through   thicker   than   when   he   is   ensouled,   the   vampire   offers   a   smile   that   tends   to   mimic   that   of   his   other   half   but   it's   mostly   a   failed   attempt   at   being   gentle.   Eyes   might   not   be   demonic   but   they   reflect   the   predatory   nature   of   the   demon   inside.  

"Hot   and   cold,   hot   and   cold,   back   in   my   day   we   called   that   teasing.   You   had   him   all   scrambled   around   in   here,   blondie."   Tapping   the   side   of   his   head,   if   there   is   something   he   enjoys   as   much   as   he   does   the   torture,   is   exposing   Angel's   darkest   secrets,   his   little   shames.   "You   gotta   make   up   your   mind!   Last   girl   who   did   that   send   us   to   hell   and   we   CAN'T   have   that." @dcviline for kate.
