☽ ☾ | @chainedloyalty / Loqi
Tumblr media
Even if he hadn't asked, she still wouldn't. Sitting there, she shook her head. How long had she been there by now? Far too long, in her opinion. "I never expected him to save me in the first place," she announced. "Ravus and I don't exactly see eye to eye on many subjects, least of all my duties."
Having it said made it more real in a way she didn't appreciate. "As for my fighting, I didn't realize that basic needs were rewards for prisoners of the Empire. No wonder so many die in your hands."
Luna squirmed once more and grit her teeth. None of this was comfortable and even less so in Loqi's grasp. Of course, she couldn't pretend to know what the Emperor was up to nor did she care to. A soft huff left her and she gave Loqi a look. "Could you at least be a better conversationalist?"

“Of course you are, you’re related to me of all people.” Her grin never left and Cheryl shrugged, reached out and then grabbed her cousin’s purse off the table. “Well, maybe we can find a good cheeseburger at Pop’s then. Subway or Pop’s, doesn’t matter as long as it’s not this slop.”
With the purse in hand, Cheryl waited impatiently, tapping her heel-clad toes on the linomleum. Cheap, all of Riverdale High was cheap. “Come on then. I’m sure we’ll have more than enough time to get there and get back. Or... we can just skip out of the rest of our classes and go on a nice shopping spree. Not like mommy will care if I take the black card.”
continued from here   @chainedfaith
Tumblr media
“I’m fucking adorable, thank you,” she scoffed instantly. “And I made an attempt at wishing this into a cheeseburger. Guess I’m not magic.” With a wrinkle of her nose, Mish pushed away the cafeteria tray and looked up at her fiery cousin. Of course the signature snark was there. When did Cheryl travel anywhere with out that signature style?
“You know,” she said, pulling herself from the dingy and dented table. “Anything sounds better than this. Subway the restaurant or the actual subway, just please let’s get out of here.”

luciantechnophile‌:
“  Shot out of the sky with what? We have absolutely no way to fight                 them. And they are feeding our people. Lucis is under Niflheim                 control, provisions are still being traded; we’ve checked the stores                 again and again. You’re just pulling at straws, and you know it.  ”
The moment Ignis spoke again, Prompto didn’t care about the reasoning. He was at a loss for words. Unsure of what to even think, let alone what to say. He felt sick to his stomach, his whole world spinning around him. His heart pounded in his chest. Whether out of fear or anger, he didn’t know. But it surely did manifest itself as anger. And oh, was it boiling over… His jaw tightened as Ignis spoke about his job.
      That was when he snapped.
            “  Oh, fuck off with that bullshit, Ignis — ! !  ”
Tumblr media
“  Do you even hear yourself right now? Or do you have your head                 shoved so far up someone else’s powered-wig ass, you can’t even                 hear yourself think? Do you really think Noctis would even ask you                 that? Do you even fucking know him? Do you even care to try to see                 him as more than just a fucking faceless manikin to put some damn                 crown on?  ”
He was trembling. Violently. He sucked in a breath, hands curled into tight fists. He was sure his knuckles were white by now. He didn’t lower his voice, he didn’t even try to.
“  By the way you talk, you really make it sound like you’ve done this                 before! No, I’m pretty damn sure now! He doesn’t even know about this,                 does he? You’ve kept it from Noctis because you know how he would                 react! Or do you just not fucking care, and think you just know what’s                 best for him? Just because you have the oh-so-important title of                 ‘royal advisor’ or some bullshit?  ”
Tumblr media
“  Tell me something, Ignis: Do you see Noctis as a friend, or just some                 fucking crown to protect? If his blood is spilled, do you see royal                 blood, or do you see your friend’s blood? Because right now, it really                 sounds like you only care about the life you and all those other                 assholes shove down his throat at every turn! And don’t you dare try                 to tell me they’re one in the same, because you know just as well as                 I do that that’s not true! If you really consider Noct a friend, even for a                 fucking second, you’d know the damn difference!  ”
He stepped closer to Ignis, only a few inches from his face. Eyes burning with anger stared directly into Ignis’s, barely contained rage threatening to break loose.
“  You can only pick one, Ignis. Friend or crown. Your call.  ”
He'd never seen Prompto become so angry before but he should have known that it was coming. The young man seemed to have some issues that he hadn't noticed before - primarily with how he was handling things from the looks of it. Ignis pushed his glasses up on his nose and waited patiently while Prompto continued.
"I've known Noctis for years, longer than you have, Prompto. Noctis understands that certain background measures must be taken to keep Lucis safe."
Green eyes narrowed and Ignis shot Prompto a look. He was close to saying something venomous and he had to hold it back. Ignis had nothing against Prompto but he was going the right way to making sure neither of them were comfortable around one another.
"I was given the title for a reason and I've been such since I was six years old. This is something I've been trained to do for years - to be anything that Noctis requires of me just as much as Gladiolus has been his sworn Shield. You underestimate my loyalty to Noctis, I would give my life for him, not my prince or king, for him."
Tumblr media
He stared down his nose at Prompto, seeing that anger in blue eyes. This wasn't the first time someone had looked at him with such emotion, but it varied among people. Ignis clenched his teeth for a moment.
"Friend. I don't want to live in a world where he doesn't exist - I would willingly condemn my own soul to whatever fiery hell is in the afterlife in order to ensure his safety. Perhaps you've never thought about it but I'd rather him be alive and hating me than dead and loving me. For any reason. Laying down and doing everything that makes him comfortable is not what makes a friendship. There are times when you'll have to question what he's doing and help him to stay on the right path - to put yourself in harm's way to ensure his safety and well being. If you think for one second that I treat my job as an elaborate game, you're wrong."
Ignis stooped lower, enough to meet Prompto's gaze with his own hardened one.
"Should I have to make another person's last moments pure agony to ensure that his heart is still beating the next day, I will. Noctis is far more important to me than you understand."

multiples of 9.
9. Is your character’s current socioeconomic status different than it was when they were growing up?
Much different. Growing up, Cheryl was given all the best of everything by her parents. Money was, as her parents quickly learned, the best way to keep her placated while they doted on her brother, Jason.
She got the best make up, clothes, shoes, phones, laptops, sunglasses - anything she could have ever wanted. That didn’t change the fact that her parents largely ignored her and, when they didn’t ignore her, they were more than happy to belittle and snidely mock her. As a child, it took her a while to realize it was happening.
Now that she works for SHIELD, Cheryl prioritizes bills first, play later. She knows precisely what she can get and covets it until she can have it in her hands. Retail therapy is a huge thing for her and it keeps her satisfied for the time being and keeps her mind off the loneliness and loss she feels in her life.
18. Is your character more likely to admire wisdom, or ambition in others?
Ambition. She feels that wisdom will come to someone with age and experience but ambition is something they either do or don’t have. She wants to claw her way to the top just so she can say she did it and she doesn’t care how it happens as long as it does.
27. How does your character normally deal with confrontation?
Badly. There’s a reason why her Agent Codename is Vesuvius.
Cheryl rarely deals with shadiness when it comes to confrontation. Either she’ll say it or she won’t. Verbal confrontations are little to nothing to her, she’ll always think of something to say and it’s usually clever but devastating.
Physically, however, is a little different.
Cheryl found out about her mutant status shortly after she turned thirteen and managed to burn one of the curtains in her bedroom. Her parents scolded her for ‘being such a stupid girl’ for doing it but it was her first accident.
Since then, she worked hard on developing and controlling them, so a physical fight with her would not be fair against a normal person. With another mutant, however, she’s a bit of a glass cannon in that she can dish out major damage but taking it will down her relatively quickly.
36. How does your character behave around people they dislike?
It depends on the reason. Either she’s cold to them and doesn’t find them worth her time or she’ll of out of her way to make their lives miserable. There’s rarely a middle ground but exceptions can be made depending on the circumstances - she’s not entirely unreasonable.
45. What does your character believe will happen to them after they die? Does this belief scare them?
Given her repeated visions of Jason, death scares her but only because she doesn’t know what’s after.
She was more than willing to join him in death after she learned what happened and attempted to drown herself in Sweetwater River (only to be saved by Archie Andrews). Since her mutation contains a thermal resistance, Cheryl didn’t feel the cold but she was fully prepared to allow the water to drown her even before she saw the vision of her brother. If she’d died then, she would have died in terror.
Now that she works with SHIELD, she’s regularly prepared for it. Jason still crosses her mind and, at times, is a subject of her waking hours. She doesn’t know what’s waiting for her as she doesn’t believe in most common religions, a conversation she’d had with Jason before his death. Cheryl does have a living will for herself and has willed almost everything to be given to charities for abused women and children.
As for what’s after, Cheryl just hopes she’ll get the chance to finally rest or be reincarnated in order to join her brother wherever he may be.

chainedloyalty‌:
She nodded her head at that. “That’s good. I’ve been busy. My airship is still functioning, so me and my men go out and scavenge and take people back to Lestallum. Right now we’re stocking up on supplies, but it’s good to hear the Imperials aren’t being too big of a problem,” then again, with everything that had happened then they had little to fight for anymore. Those that kept fighting were seriously devoted to Niflheim and probably close to brainwashed.
Watching him as he turned around and walked towards her, she kept still, curious to see how well he navigated his surroundings. Not bad, in all honestly. He was a bit close when he stopped, but he didn’t walk into her, so that was a good sign. “You’re good, Specs. Nothing to worry about there, even if you do walk into me I won’t beat you up for it,” she promises, waiting for him to pass her so she could follow along.
Tumblr media
“It’s all really gone to shit though, hasn’t it? So many rumors too. Bad ones, especially about the Prince. Did get me a little worried –– people aren’t taking well to his lack of presence here. Thinking he’s abandoned them all.”
"I doubt the Imperials have much of a leg to stand on after losing Gralea to daemons. There’s not much going for them anymore. I’ll be surprised should any of them survive in Niflheim - the environment is quite unforgiving.” Not that he’d ever seen the capital city for himself but he recalled how frigid Gralea had been. He could only assume it was just as bad elsewhere.
A slight smile came over his face and Ignis nodded. “Much appreciated. Paying attention to the sounds has been an ordeal but it’s opened a new skill - one that I’m learning gradually. So far, I’ve heard things that I’ve not noticed before. It’s... interesting.”
Tumblr media
He lost his smile at the mention of Noctis, knowing that people felt as if he’d left them in their time of need. Most didn’t know of the prophecy, of the things he’d seen in his own visions, or even the fact that he’d been taken by the crystal itself. That was... what caused him to remain silent.
Ignis carefully recounted his steps back to the base and held a hand out of her. “Please, join me. My rooms aren’t much but I can offer you refreshments and a few moments of peace. As well as information on your last topic. There’s... much to discuss, Miss Highwind.”

chainedloyalty‌:
“I –– excuse me?!” how vulgar could he be? As if Loqi would ever give out such information. “I’ve survived two explosions. I doubt you’ll be able to break me,” he felt confident, but Loqi also had to admit that he felt dread about this whole situation. He hadn’t been in this kind of situation before, far from it. He was a General, not a spy. He knew how to keep silent, he had sworn an oath, but this was different.
The man started talking and Loqi frowned. “Spare me the details,” he didn’t see the point. The man wanted to torture him. Loqi didn’t need an origin story for it to happen. Perhaps it was meant to make him feel fear, but Loqi did his best to push that aside. He couldn’t do anything even as he was moved around, his foot taking captive and no attempts at pulling it away helped.
“I’m not going to talk,” he assured, eyes narrowed as he watched the other’s movements. Was what a cane? Shit. This guy was actually serious about all of this. At first it could have been a scare tactic, but it definitely didn’t seem like it. Suitcase. He’d remember it. Just in case. Just in case things went horribly, horribly wrong.
By the Gods, this was going to be intense and Ignis was glad that he’d brought water. He was well aware that it would be daunting but for Loqi to be so stubborn... He’d simply have to work hard on him.
“Details spared though I warn you, I like to talk. You’ll simply have to deal with that. We’ll be spending some time together.” He gripped the cane and carefully pressed it against where he intended to strike. Ah yes, some power would be going into this. He regarded Loqi for a moment before holding on to the top of his foot, toes were pulled back a bit and he knew the stretch would make it worse.
For a moment, a charming smile lit up his face. “Thank you for allowing me to have this time with you. ...One.”
With that, he pulled the cane back and swung. The impact left a resounding whack throughout the room, sharp and crisp like the sudden clapping of a hand. Oh, but he wasn’t done yet. Ignoring any reaction, Ignis set to swinging the cane. Two, three, four, five, six, seven... Methodical but near the tenth swing, he paused. He pretended to swing and stopped right before impact. Ignis did this twice before hitting another few times. Each feint was random, truly, but the strength didn’t lessen.

… Damnit… All of those are really good points, but still. Using just that for torture…? And what good would that information do? They were only four men, how were they supposed to take down every single Niflheim base? A few here and there was one thing. Every single one they came across? Entirely different. They needed to focus on getting the crystal back, not waging war with four people against however many MTs there were in the world.
“  What would we even DO with that information? What good would that                do? We can’t do anything about drop ships, cargo, or ‘other things’.                Torturing that information out of someone is NOT worth it!  ”
The Regalia though… He couldn’t even touch upon that subject, not with Ignis continuing on.
“  Of course I have an issue with that, are you crazy?! He’s just doing                 his job, Ignis! Just like you are! His emperor is demanding things                 from him, what are you supposed to do if your leader tells you to do                 shit you’re against? Without having a whole fucking army up your                 ass about it?  “
Tumblr media
“  If he resists, just tie him up again! Don’t fucking kill him! We’ll figure                out what to do after this whole mess is cleared up. There’s no way to                tell if it’s him, or if it’s his superiors. And speaking of superiors, what                does Noct think about all this, huh? Does he even know the bullshit                you’re spouting right now?  ”
"We can avoid the drop ships and have them shot out of the sky before they reach certain areas, like Lestallum. The cargo can be used to build up our own forces, feed our people, or help us while we’re on the run.” Was it not? Ignis tilted his head slightly and frowned as he listened. He wouldn’t say that he was without a heart but he found this to be troublesome.
“I wouldn’t say that I’m crazy but if Noctis were to order me to do something against my own morals, I would have little choice but to do as he told me. Soon, he will be our King and his word will be law. It’s not much different here.”
Tumblr media
Perhaps the fact that it wasn’t much different was the problem. He knew that Noctis wouldn’t order him to do such things but that didn’t mean that it would always be the case. Sometimes leaders had to do things that they knew they shouldn’t. The world wasn’t butterflies and kittens all of the time.
“Prompto, it’s possible to torture someone without killing them to extract needed information.” Ignis crossed his arms and frowned. “I’m Noctis’s adviser. That means that I’m his Spymaster as well. It’s part of my job to know how to do this and get the most information possible - no matter the results. They will break - they always do.” I nearly did.

Be as loud as he wishes? So he was captured for information then. He should have guessed, but it was still a surprise considering how tame Noctis seemed –– of course he’d assume that went for his little crew as well. Narrowing his eyes, he glared at Ignis as his chin was taking in hand, far from appreciating that kind of touch.
“Imperial secrets? As if I’d tell you anything,” he hisses out the words, not about to speak anytime soon. He’s not broken yet, far from it –– and he can handle a lot. The explosions he has survived is clear proof at that. He’ll take whatever this guy decides to throw at him.
A darkness shadowed emerald eyes and Ignis smirked. In the back of his mind, the sound of screams and blazing fires had his heartbeat racing, the brand’s heat seeming to increase.
“No worries. Before we’re done, you’ll be telling me how you like your cock teased and your mother’s shoe size. Until then, please try to hold up a bit. It’s boring when they break too soon.”
He released the other’s chin and put a stool in front of him. From a duffel bag on the table, Ignis pulled out a cane and returned to Loqi. “Did you know that foot caning is one of several torture methods that barely leave more than bruises? It’s quite painful. In order to learn it, I had to undergo it myself - if not for Gladiolus, I wouldn’t have been able to walk to the bathroom by myself.”
With his free hand, he carefully untied Loqi’s right foot and swiftly secured it to the stool. The extra chair was dragged over and he sat down, using his own feet to hold the stool down. “Last chance to talk. Should you wish to speak later, the word is ‘suitcase.’ Until then...” He carefully undid Loqi’s boot, dropped it to the floor, and yanked the sock off, then placed the cane near the arch. “I would say you’re required to count the strokes but I doubt you’d be able to keep up.”

“You think I’m here to babysit you? Sorry to disappoint, four-eyes, but I have better things to do than that,” she replies, rolling her eyes even though she knows he won’t see it. “Nobody sent me. It’s been a while, so I wanted a status. You might not be able to see, but I doubt that’d stop someone like you from getting the information you need to keep updated,” she offers, arms crossing over her chest as she watches him.
Tumblr media
“Well, excuse me for asking. You seemed practically glued to each other at some point, it’s weird to not see you together,” still, she has to agree with the sentiment. Getting somewhere safe was for the best. She doesn’t know what got stuck up in his ass though, but she doesn’t bother asking. His tone is hardly anything she finds offensive, either way. “Base it is – and don’t worry, I’m not here to stop you. I trust you know what you’re getting into. You might be blind, but that doesn’t take away your intelligence. Just don’t trust me to save your ass with that kind of attitude.”
A soft snort of laughter left him. Of course she wasn’t but he was annoyed with himself. After a few months, he felt like he should have been better than he was. “On that, you’re right. I’m more than capable of getting information as needed. Most points to gathering food and water for the refugees - little else worries about the movement of Imperials though.”
Tumblr media
For that, she was right and he couldn’t deny it. He turned his head away slightly but said nothing on that. He would tell her when they got to the base. “Worry not, you’ll have to do nothing for me. I intend on making sure that no one will have the need either - I won’t let blindness stop me.”
He recalled his mental map of the area and started toward her, pausing as he got closer. The sounds of his footsteps dulled as he reached her and he furrowed his brows as he stepped to the side. “Let me know if I’m too close,” he muttered. The last thing he wished was to make her uncomfortable. With that, he tried to walk past her, almost certain he’d walk into her.

“  … I’m not doing that to anyone who doesn’t deserve it.  ”
Tumblr media
“  Ignis, what information could he possibly have? ‘Drop more MTs                 where Prince Noctis is’? We already know that; we live it literally                 every day. I’m not hurting him because there’s only a sliver of an                 instinct that he just might have information that’s useful to us.  ”
“Good because you’re not the one who will be doing it.”
Tumblr media
Ignis glanced back at Prompto and wanted to sigh. This was the problem with caring too much, it made things difficult in regards to protecting Noctis and Lucis. “Sensitive information. Drop ship schedules, cargo information, and various other things. I have yet to check the Regalia for a tracking device but should I find it, I’ll be questioning him on that as well as gaining his access information into Imperial databases.”
A soft snort left him. Oh yes, Loqi was useful in multiple ways but that didn’t mean that Ignis couldn’t brute force him into cooperating. He crossed his arms. “Sometimes violence is needed. In this case, I’d rather resort to that in order to continue protecting our prince and his people. Should Loqi turn on us, I’ll gladly terminate him on the spot. Do you have issue with that?”

Ignis sat in a chair behind Loqi, hands clasped in his lap and his legs crossed, regarding him silently as he woke up. A bowl of skittles sat nearby. He did little more than watch the man struggle against the bindings - Ignis had been taught by the best, he knew the man wouldn’t get loose - and offered a soft smirk.
He stood and walked around the other to finally face him, removing his gloves and laying them on the table, near the bowl of candy. “You may be as loud as you wish but, out here, no one will be curious enough to come and find out why.” Ignis faced Loqi for a moment and reached out to carefully place his hand under the other’s chin to take a closer look at him.
“You are here to share Imperial secrets - at any cost. Truly unfortunate for you that it should be me who must do this. I almost pity you. Would you like to speak up or shall I begin?”
@chainedfaith
Loqi let out a groan as he slowly came to his senses, only remember that he had been knocked out and rather harshly as well, if the throbbing pain in his head was anything to go by. Looking around, his eyes widens when he notices that he’s tied up –– and it’s expertly done as well. Pulling on the ropes, he tries to see if he can find any way out of them, but soon he knows he won’t be able to, not with the way it’s tied. He’d need something sharp for that to happen and he doubts he’ll find anything anytime soon.
Footsteps soon approaches and he snaps his head towards it, eyes narrowing as he tries to push down the feeling of dread. “Who’s there?!” he’s surprised when he see someone faintly familiar, soon recognizing the other as one of Prince Noctis’ retainers. The adviser, if he remembers correctly. He has to admit that he’s surprised at seeing him out of all people, because for a moment he had thought he’d come face to face to Cor.
  “Why am I here?”

He lifted his head and listened to her, a soft noise left him to affirm that he'd heard. "Walking away from you? Hm, I wasn't aware that I needed a baby sitter. Did Gladio send you?" A bittersweet amusement filled his chest and Ignis turned finally. He only saw the flash of light from somewhere around her - lighting her way. There was the small settlement behind her as well.
"The prince is indisposed at the moment. Gladio and Prompto have better things to do than see to my safety. This is my mission, not theirs. Nice to see you again anyway." Ironic to say, he'd never get over that, he was certain. “Do you believe this the best place to hold a conversation or shall we return to the base for the time being?”
If anything, he wanted to find a way to come out here on his own, no matter how battered he became. He had to learn.

Send me a crystal and I’ll tell… | rhodonite: if my muse prefers elegance or convenience

She prefers convenience but Luna is well aware that her status doesn’t allow for that.
It’s little things that help though: a pony tail or low braid, cotton clothing, breathable clothing, trading heels for flats as soon as she can. Being able to have these small wins definitely makes things easier on her, especially when it comes to her appearance.
She has her makeup routine down and only brings what she needs with her, usually in a small travel bag, but it’s the clothes. It’ll always be the clothes. Luna gets annoyed with heels often, so she’ll be throwing those in a bag and grabbing what flat shoes she has with her.
When she does want something elegant, she’ll go to specific designers to make damn sure they make what she wants them to.

aegerine: my muse's opinion of the supernatural
Send me a crystal and I’ll tell…

She’s not entirely sure how she feels about it, particularly because of her position as Oracle.
On one hand, she wants to believe that when people die, they return to Eos to be reborn. But on the other hand, she’s the messenger of the Gods and she’s not sure that there’s anything at all for after.
Supernatural shows where people are ghost hunting or explaining their version of the afterlife are entertaining to her but she doesn’t always agree with them. That’s fine to her because everyone has their own opinions, so she’s not one to bash that. She knows what she believes to some extent.
For Luna, she believes that everyone’s souls are returned to their main patron Astral so that their Astral can redistribute their soul when they choose to. Souls that haven’t been given the chance to go back to their Astral are the daemons, souls corrupted by the scourge and given to it completely. Something of Eos’s version of Hell.
