Karik supposed as a knight he should aid this person who clearly was in bad shape. Given where they were along with how deep it would be rather hard to get them both out. Still, Karik did have the gear he was sure that he could make this happen it would simply take a longtime to do so. Traversing ancient ruins was always a major risk.

"I have the means to get us out. But, I need to look you over first. Are you ok with me taking a look at your wounds? I am a professional so I can deal with most battle wounds. You look like you took a beating..."
Karik did know how to heal most wounds taken in battle so with a good enough patch job could allow Karik to help this other reptile heal up. The knight had bandages along with some Mushrooms to help heal some basic wounds. Karik hoped this would be enough to give the other enough strength to make getting out easier.
"I know its hard to trust a stranger. But, I guess I'm the only one here who can help you right now."
Karik gets closer taking out his supplies ready to get to work.

"Do you have anything to report to the King, or should I just send you away like all the others?" - Bowser
Karik kneels to his lord and master as any knight should. The Koopatrol armor he wore showing he was amoung the most elite and loyal members to Bowser's cause. He had served him for many years yet had never truly spoken or talked to him for it wasn't his place. Today though, thanks to his exploration of ruins around Darkland. Karik had found something he knew Bowser would want to see.

"I bring something news of major importance to you sire. A new object of power has been found my lord. Deep within some ruins I have personally explored, there is something located there that will finally allow you to gain you your rightful conquering of all worlds."
Karik lowered his head so as to not directly look towards the King. Yet, his words spoke true he did find something. Something powerful that only his king should know about and not anyone else.
"However, I cannot speak of it too openly for I have reason to believe there are spies. So please, my lord I beg of you may we talk elsewhere?"
Karik knew the gall he had to ask that of Bowser yet this too was important to ensure no one else learned of this secret.

The knight waited within the grass. Finally after all this time he finally had a chance to catch a dragon for the sake of satisfying his king's demand for a dragon pet. Honestly, Karik wasn't sure why he was the one given this job but one didn't tend to say no to what Bowser wanted. He wanted what he wanted and it was Karik's job to succeed.

The knight was holding onto a roll of chains likely intended to be used to bind the creature when a chance was shown. Until then Karik waited with anticipation. And when the dragon thumped down once missing a creature it was chasing Karik made a move to strike. Then again, it was so small maybe simply picking it up and binding its mouth to prevent dragon fire might be enough?
Eitherway they would soon see where this "chain" of events would lead. Would it be easy or hard only time would tell.

Ok, slowly down...slow now...then hammer another spike into the wall. Karik made his way down the shaft with practiced skill. Or as much skill as person such as him could muster. He was no expert when it came to traversing ancient ruins. But, he did do it as a hobby it was a very dangerous hobby mind you. With death behind every corner, where traps could take your life in mere moments.
Was this thrill seeking? Was he secretly so bored with his job that he was doing this because of the danger? Or was it for the allure of what lay beneath? What secrets did these old places keep? Was that what drew him more to delve into these depths? Eitherway thankfully this time he wasn't alone. He had hired a person to come with him.
Because this ruin was said to be rather dangerous. Very unlike some of the other Karik had ventured into alone. This one likely contained secret or treasures anything of the sort ready to be taken.

"I am thankful you chose to accept. I am rather skilled at this. But having a second person with me makes this a lot easier."
Yeah, he was wearing armor while doing all of this. He tended to reach into his shell to pull out the robes and things he needed to help him get through this place. They had been placing robes and markers to keep track of where they were and how to get back. Karik had paid the other person up front with half to begin and half at the end.
As well as a cut of whatever the two found down here. Pretty by the book deal between the two of them. Karik liked to think.

Karik kept a cool head, the beast likely wouldn't attack so long as he didn't show any hostile action. Granted, he was there to take the dragon in for his king who desired a pet. But, Karik didn't exactly want to hurt to creature to do that. Or chain him up really. Karik had always felt more of a fondness for animals and the like. They was easier for him to get on with that other sentient creatures.

"Now now, its ok...I'm not going to hurt you. I might look scary but...I only want to help. You're hurt right? Well, I'm hurt too. See?"
Karik slowly reached up to take off his helmet to show a very nasty scar that was under it. It was also likely that seeing the true face of someone might help the creature calm down more. Seeing a faceless piece of metal staring back at you created distance a face allowed for more easy to read expressions. Least Karik was aware of that.

Karik came closer to the chief taking hold of the other's hand.
"Oh, by all means I'll tell you everything. But...can we also reconnect? I missed you a lot. You were on my mind a lot throughout this whole thing. Like here are my notes those explain things pretty much in all the detail you need. But, while we look them over we can also talk maybe? I admit I maybe missed you...more than most..."
Karik sometimes wished Bogo would call him Karik instead of Detective all the time. Surely, they were more than just colleagues at this point right? Karik always called him Bogo then again that was his second name not his first. But, Detective was a title like Chief.
Karik dropped the notes down with his other free hand. Before then letting go of Bogo's hand since the moment passed.
Jabari's eyes narrowed rather dangerously, "Of course..." He muttered out under his breath, crossing his arms. He should've known Bellwether would have more supporters which meant those supporters would still keep doing what Bellwether was doing before. He clenched his jaw tightly, closing his eyes to maintain his composure without losing his temper.
"Well, you're not doing this alone now so I'm getting involved whether you like it or not." He spoke rather firmly, seeming rather serious now. "You're going to tell me everything you learned other than what you just told me and don't leave a single detail out."

"Oh no, I stay away from that guy. No the ones who are after me are some of the leaders of the other branchs of the police. You run a tight ship here, but the ones on the outskirts because they're not in your direct sights they are doing things behind your back. Some look the other way some choose to arrest peiople who get in the way of certain actions. There are other crime people besides Mr Big. In fact he's one of the better ones there are much worse ones."
Karik didn't want to drag others into his problems. He had only been looking into a drug ring and found so many webs within webs.
"Its remants of that Nighthowler Incident some people found out about that plant and are selling it as a drug. Likely some of them were people who were in line with that sheep lady. She certainly had supporters, just because you got her doesn't mean others aren't still trying to spread chaos and have preds be made into villains."
“Excuse me?” Jabari sounded a bit defensive. “My officers would never associate themselves with those types of mammals.” He narrowed his eyes dangerously, letting out a soft grunt of uncertainty. “They know better than to get involved with this sort of situation.” Right? He’s now uncertain. How many of his officers are in on this?
“Detective, you got some sort of bounty on you from who knows who! If I know you any better, you got yourself caught up in some sort of gang, mob, or a bigger organization and you exposed one of those things I mentioned!” He groaned out, starting to pace back and forth. “Please tell me you didn’t mess with Mr. Big, one of Tundratown’s most feared crime bosses because I can’t help you there and I’d rather not start a war between my precinct and Mr. Big!” He begged, his voice coming out worried.

Karik saw that the dragon was aware of his presance. Strange, one wouldn't think a dragon so young could pick him out so quickly. But, since the dragon had that meant Lord Bowser would be even more pleased if the knight brought this purple dragon back. This quest for the king would be much harder that first thought, yet that wasn't anything new for a Koopatrol. For they knew of what it took to get the job done since things changed when in the field sometimes.
Karik would stand his ground as the dragon charged towards him. Though, just before the horns would connect he would dodge slightly to the side where a tree stood. Karik hoped the blunder might stun the dragon for a moment or cause his horns to get stuck in the bark.

Even if that failed to do much Karik still threw the chain to try and loop it around the dragon's tail once he came close. Since Karik was sure Spyro had raised the tail whenever Karik saw the dragon about to charge before. Karik had watched the dragon so had picked up on that small habit the youngling had whenever he was about to charge.
@gemscales-and-tea
The 'chain' of events is very... well, eventful.
Spyro is not a stranger to being lunged at or swung at or just straight up attacked. Several long adventures saving the Dragon Realms and the dragons within has toughened the little dragon up than would be expected for one his age. It's the rattle of chains that got his attention first... and then it's a stranger lunging for him next that gets his attention.
Oh no, not now!
"Rrrr!"
Immediately, he charges with horns down. Spyro is quite fast and is not doubtful his horns will connect.

"Not just punks thank you very much but people who were up to no good behind closed doors. Now people know how scummy they really are and its all thanks to me!"
The people that were after Karik were likely hired hands by the people Karik exposed. So, not so easy to take them down for long as the ones connected to them kept using money to bail them out. And there were no solid evidence to show this was intentional since some evidence kept vanishing like footage and the like.
"You know how it is...money talks...and people are made to listen. Some people even within your station are in on it too."
He didn't want to have to say that but it was true. Karik soon let go of the chief when he said that since he couldn't say such words lightly.
Jabari would've understand the whole lack of interest by other civilians when it comes to Private Investigators but when the detective brought up some issues with some people who are out for revenge, he's definitely going to say something now. "What?!" He huffed out in exasperation, sounding rather shocked and worried. "Please tell me they're close to being found so they can be put behind bars."
"More like you got yourself in some trouble without me being around," Jabari grunted out with worry and annoyance, letting out a very big exhale. "I'm pretty sure I do have a right to be serious about this considering you're dealing with some punks who you exposed by the way, are out for revenge."

"Not that good if I am honest jobs have been harder to come by as of late. Not through lack of trying, people are still looking for Private Investigators but...its been dry...no one interested..."
Karik didn't exactly want to admit that the time apart from Bogo had affected him much more than he let on. It was almost like life wasn't interesting or fun unless the detective was trying to mess with Bogo. Either that or spend time with the buffalo. Since normally Karik was often by himself rather than spending time alongside others. It was a sad fate since Karik tended to be left alone rather often.
"Also some guys who I exposed for some stuff are out for revenge too. Same old same old...nothing I can't handle."
Yeah, Karik dealt with guys wanting to beat him up all the time. Came with the job since some animals just couldn't accept when they got tricked. Honestly, it was their fault for breaking the law.
"Life got pretty dull without you in it. And that's saying something since you're so serious and stoic."
He was still hugging Bogo.
Shit, that's right. Jabari hadn't seen Detective Karik in a very long time and it had slipped his mind up until now. "I'm..." He hesitated, then wrapping an arm around the turtle. "I'm sorry, I did not mean to push you away." He murmured out quietly, noticing how Karik held him so it made him wonder about Karik's feelings but right now all that matters is him holding Karik.
"You're right, it's been a while." He agreed. "How have you been?"

It had been so long, honestly Karik had simply gone through life not thinking about things for a long time. Yet, upon seeing Bogo again something stirred within Karik as he ran towards the other without thinking. He despite being a turtle move rather fast.
"What do you think? We've not seen each other in ages."
Karik didn't even care if other animals saw. Bogo was like one of Karik's only friends one might say. And Karik might have felt lonely without said friend to hang around with.
Though, with how he held Bogo it was almost like there was something more. But, Karik wasn't quite aware of that yet.

"Hup! Hup!"
Gleeful and carefree he runs about, pouncing after fireflies that have decided to emerge from the grass. Of course, he's not hurting them a bit.

Karik was tempted to draw his weapon yet, he had been given an order. One he needed to follow before anything else. He was told to capture a dragon who would become a pet for his king Bowser. A dragon that could be tamed then used as a means to finally take down their enemies once and for all. This task felt onto Karik's shell despite him simply being a knight who normally was meant to lead the group of knights who worked there. Yet, Karik saw in this a chance for himself. Since dragons were strong and deadly Karik could also use the tamed dragon for his own ends.

It also helped that it seemed this beast couldn't simply fly away due its tail fin being damaged. A bad thing for sure, but injuries could be worked over somehow. Karik would figure it out he was sure. What mattered was getting the creature under his control or well...charming it or being kind to it somehow? Maybe, Karik should offer something maybe? He did have some food.
He didn't make any sudden movements to begin with as he reached into his shell. He kept his eyes on the dragon the whole time while doing this since it was likely he might be jumped if he looked away.
"I won't hurt you ok? I might look scary but...I want to help..."
This wasn't a lie since Karik couldn't lie well but he did have motives for doing what he was doing personal reasons. Not entirely kind ones.

"Seems that people tend to watch other people do amazing things. Like um...flying through the air and feats of immense strength. I admit most of these acts are actions I've never seen done before. Like someone eating blades, that's something I've not seen."
Karik is starting to feel like maybe he made a mistake choosing this at the first potential date spot for them both. Man he wished he knew how to do this better. Now, he was unsure what else to say.
"You don't need to feel bad about your hands you know. I think they are very...useful...and nice to touch...because its cold and the coldness is...rather...well...nice to hold onto..."
Not that Karik could feel much through his gauntlet yet. The words were true Karik did find the sensation of cool metal calming.
"No, not really. We never had things like a circus back where I originally hail from. Lots of of other places do, but it's kinda hard to do anything circusy when you don't got arms." He explains. It was weird but true. Despite how accustomed to his metal arms he has become, they're not really his. They're not armor, they're just steel extensions of his equipment.
"Do you know what you do at circuses?" He asks Karik. The other would probably know better than him at least.

Karik gave Sal's hand a small squeeze as they talked. Something small but emotional to show maybe an appriciation that the snake was trying to talk to him. Karik wished he was better at this. But, in all his time as a knight he never had a moment of emotional vulnerablity such as this. Still he felt happy that he was with Saleos.

"No, not really I had heard of it...but um...I chose it because it seemed like a fun place to take you. Have you ever been to one either?"
Karik hadn't ever really allowed him to go to places like this. He felt his duty was more important. Yet, now he was trying to change.
"Mmm, yeah. It is." He replies simply. He wasn't sure what more to say, he didn't think much needed to be said right now. But maybe that was wrong, and he should say something? What though, what would be good to say here?
"Soooooo, uh...you mentioned a circus. Have you been to it before?" He asks, trying to bring up a conversation topic.

"Excuse you, I have trained many years with this blade. Though, I do suppose it makes sense I'm not as skilled with it."
Karik didn't say more since that was giving away fighting secrets for the Koopatrol. Not many knew that they tended to favor spears over swords. The sword Karik had was more a sidearm compared to the spear that all Koopatrol tended to be trained with once they earned their title. Karik was the leader of the Koopatrol too so he did know battle very well. Yet, he wasn't one who sought it out very often.

"Again, this place isn't for the faint of heart. Many die out here from the monsters, if you are sure of yourself I will not stop you from making your own way. Yet, as a knight of this realm I do feel it my duty to ensure your safety. The magic casters are the worst though, they corrupt the remains of our people."
Karik felt very strongly to protecting others as well as the safety of the people. Something most wouldn't expect from one like him.
“Don’t worry, not here to fight.” Walking on forward, hands up, yet rather calm about it. Stopping though, “I am a bit lost in these lands. Hoping one could tell me where this place is.” As he asked, something wasn’t right about this rabbit.
His eyes scanned around his surroundings, waste land with the lava around. “Doesn’t this place feel like home, without the toxic air though. Yet the ash in the air isn’t still safe.”

“But seems I am getting ahead of myself, and must do apologize.” White Rabbit now stared down at the other. Rather tall for a rabbit too, usually more shorter. “If I did startled you from your training… Need to work on your posture little more.”
White Rabbit commented about that.
