Monster Within

It comes like a shadow, That never leaves your side. It waxes and wanes, Ever changing, Never the same. In the dark it consumes you, In the light it clings at your heals. Among others it waits and watches, Waiting to consume at the first mistake. Like a shadow, clung on your back, It slowly grows heavier and heavier. It weighs you down, With every word you said. Every joke and tease turned into stabbing knives. It grows strong as you fall apart, With a smile plastered on your face. All that can be said is 'I'm fine'. Worry creeps into every crack and crevice, Every action, every word that you say. Begins to come back, Cracking the false facade. A fear that you are never good enough. Failure! Failure! The shadow only constricts around, Crushing every hope and dream, Sapping every ounce of motivation from your vains. Failure! Never good enough! The fear biulds, causing you to jump at every little thing, To lock up the things you once enjoyed. Crushed and beaten, yet a smile still wins out. Hidden behind a laugh, a joke, And an 'I'm fine'. FAILURE! They hide, just behind that smile, that happy person. Isnt what it seems. They consume until no hope is left, All you are filled with is self doubt and hesitation. until you believe with every fiber of your being that you arent good enough, That you are a failure at everything. That you deserve to feel so hopeless. It is so much more than sadness. It is so much more than worry, or fear. It is a struggle, A battle, Just to remain standing, When all you want to do is fall. Flat on your face right down the deepest darkest hole.

2300?

(( This is too weird not to ask about, even though it’s not the sort of thing I normally post on this blog. Yesterday helloiamandrew received a strange text from the number 2300. (screenshot below)  The sender’s number was just 2300, no other numbers.

He showed it to me when he got home, and has since reported it to TMobile.  But it just struck me as being really odd.  A message like that, out of the blue, from a number too short to be an actual phone number.

So, I jumped on google, and did a little research.  I found a few other people reporting on forums that they too recently received odd, and eerie texts from 2300.

Some of the texts they were sent (some of them sent repeatedly):

“Sleeping.” “She’s out cold.” “The others are just stupid, they don’t know what we’re talking about, don’t forget to lock up.” “Now you live, turn it away.” “I bet you’re just leaving her there to cry, aren’t you?” “Too late.”

Has anyone else out there received texts from this number??  Or, can anyone help explain just what this might be?  It feels like the start of some weird urban legend or horror movie.

Seattle’s Mystery Soda Machine

On the corner of John Street and 10th Avenue East, in the heart of Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood lies the world’s most mysterious soda vending machine. Nobody knows the true history of the rusting machine, which looks like it was spat straight out of the Seventies, but locals continue to plunk down their change and the machine never seems to run out of stock. Who first installed the outdoor machine, who stocks it, and who collects the money are all a mystery.

The modern antique offers a comparatively limited selection of drinks with yellowed plastic buttons offering Coke, Mountain Dew, Pepsi, and Barq’s, but the intriguing button marked “Mystery” generally produces none of these. According to one report, after spending five dollars in change on the mystery button, the machine produced six different brand of soda, none of which had their own button on the machine.

Given the air of the unknown that surrounds the vending relic, many locals have tried to divine the origins of the machine and its endless wellspring of name-brand soda, but so far no answers have been forthcoming, no matter how many times the “Mystery” button is pressed. (Source)

Some of you maybe familiar with the dare day we had previously this year. Essentially 12 dares were posted every hours from 1 pm to 12 am (EST). The dares got progressively scarier and our followers were asked to post pictures or videos of themselves doing each dare. 

Here is a compilation of those previous dares

Forgotten Dare Day is going to be a little different. Only 6 dares will be posted starting from 9 pm to 2 am (EST) on Saturday, August 15th. These dares will be relatively simple, require basic supplies such as mirrors and candles. Most of these dares are single player. The concept behind each and every single one of them will be both terrifying and dangerous.

Play at your own risk. 

You are invited to post pictures and videos of yourselves doing each dare, although we speculate that not many will have the courage to go through with them.

From 1 pm to 8 pm (EST) on the same day (Saturday, August 15th) we want to invite our followers to share creepy dares or games they have made up or have heard. 

You can also go back and attempt to complete some of the dares posted on our first dare day. 

You MUST mention “For Sixpenceee’s Forgotten Dare Day” at the very beginning of the post, in order for us to find it and reblog it.

Pennywise from Stephen King’s film called It. The story revolves around a predator who has the ability to transform itself into its prey’s worst fears. It mostly takes the form of a sadistic, wisecracking clown called Pennywise the Dancing Clown. You can watch the film here
