pretty different vibe from my usual color schemes, but i felt this guy was just begging to be drawn in a grimy, putrid sort of palette, and i was very happy to prove to myself i knew how to do that!

actually, i've been having a ball with the colors in all my recent pieces. i haven't had to rely on colorpicking or adjustment layers almost at all for a while now, and i'm getting to a point of confidence where i'm able to ditch my old strategy of keeping different colors on separate layers so i can easily adjust them halfway through. i think it helps that my recent paintings have been intentionally messy; if a couple colors aren't perfect that's fine, because nothing else about it is either.
