Greg finished the pancakes he was working on, passing the plate to Chase.
The house was near silent, James and Remy off in the fields working. Chase was sick, his fever getting worse by the day. Greg kept his mind busy, trying not to worry about his kid.
Chase shuffled out of his room, his fingers wrapped arund the old rosary around his neck. He scooted to the table, squeaking out a small "Thanks" as he smiled.
At least he wasn't in the semitary, that's for sure..
