Tristyn shrugged, “No, not really. Guess we’re just looking for a place to belong right now. Not a lot of places we’ve stopped at so far like having humans around, and the ones that do don’t tend to like him very much.” She explained, nodding to her partner.
“I…Have a bit of a reputation that tends to proceed us.” Nazario confirmed, “Though it’s hardly my fault some people just don’t have a sense of humor.”
Basil gave a skeptical tilt of his head.
“Uhh, I don’t think that’s–”
“That’s a shame,” his partner cut him off, giving him a sidelong glance that didn’t match her sympathetic tone. “There has to be somewhere out there for you both, though.”
“We’re not too busy; maybe we could help?” the Stingmon offered sheepishly, glancing between Vickie and the other duo.
“We can at least try,” Vickie added.
Tristyn clearly was considering it, they’d gone a long time without human company and she really needed to be with one of her own kind. She glanced at Nazario, though, seeming to silently ask if he was okay with it...Or something else.
Nazatio gave out a laugh, “Well, I don’t see why not. Do you like magic tricks? That’s the only problem I foresee! We won’t get alone too well if you don’t like magic tricks!”
He seemed to be dodging whatever Tristyn was silently asking him.

“…”
Tristyn still looked away, said nothing, and scooted away from Nazario when he reached to put a comforting hand on her shoulder. He sat there awkwardly for a few seconds, clearly wanting to help his partner but aware that nothing he did would provide any comfort to the girl. Finally he turned back to Veno, offering the only explanation he dared without distressing Tristyn further.
“They’re dead.”
“I-I’m sorry I asked…”
Dead, he hadn’t heard that word in years, and yet it still made him sick to his stomach. Veno removed the charred fungus from his makeshift skewer and set it down next to himself, his appetite had vanished.
“I…know what it feels like…to lose someone close to you…but I cannot imagine the pain of losing so many as you have Miss Trystyn. I’m really sorry for bringing it up, I didn’t mean to upset you..”
Clearly, Tristyn and Nazario had lost their appetites as well, leaving all the mushrooms completely untouched. “I’m...Going to bed.” Tristyn announced and scooted a little further from the fire. “Sorry to be such a bad host. Good night Veno.”
“I’ll keep watch.” Nazario replied, standing up and taking a few steps away from her as well, but never strayed too far.
There was something about their friend’s deaths they were leaving unspoken.

“Of course I know card tricks, I’m a performer!” Maddigan replied, trying to smile. “Just don’t ask me to tell any jokes, I’m afraid I’m not a very funny clown.”
It was true that Maddigan’s talent for entertainment seemed to begin and end with visual gags and tricks, but that had never bothered him. Back in Alphamon’s court, his performances had always been a big hit. He handed the cards to Tristyn, as they walked.
“Here, you show me a trick, then I’ll show you one, and we’ll be at the village in no time at all.”
Exchanging card tricks would at the very least be a pleasant distraction from their predicament. Maddigan could only hope that once they had rested, he would be strong enough to find their friends.
Tristyn took the cards and carefully counted them to make sure they were all there, playing up the idea that she needed all of them for it to work, and selected a card. “Behold the Jack of Diamonds.” She announced showing it off dramatically, flipping it over in her fingers so Maddigan could see that it was his card.
But then, just as she was flipping it around, it vanished.
“Ta-da! Vanishing card!” She declared and waved her empty fingers at Maddigan, and smiled wider, “But wait! What’s this!?” From her other hand she produced the card, the Jack of Diamonds safely tucked between her middle and index fingers.

shainingusutaa:
@chaospiemon • D-terminal message received.
She had no hard feelings, yet there’s some exceptions regarding to horrible experiences in the battle field. A girl with eight years old having to face tough and scary enemies to save an unknown world, a world which had strange connections with her. A world she and Taichi – her brother – treasure and love now, despising this same world rejecting them previously.
Hikari wasn’t know what to do when she realized that digimon in front of her was a digimon partner of a girl. That digimon reminded her of the Dark Master Piemon, the one who had transformed her friends into keychains and had chased Takeru and her until they had been exhausted.
She feared him. And hoped that digimon wasn’t the same maniac from the past.
“Um… Are you a Chosen Child?” - she asked the girl with him - “Is he your digimon partner?”
Tailmon was not very pleased to meet that digimon either. And the feline put herself in front Hikari, giving a serious glare at the pierrot-like digimon.
“Ye-” Tristyn started to explain, reaching to her belt for her black and white D-3 when Nazario pulled her back against him suddenly, clasping her shoulders painfully. She couldn’t see his face, but his grip suggested he was either being over protective of her again, or using her as a shield.
“Yes, she is, and yes, I am.” the Chaospiemon growled, glaring at both the girl and her feline partner. He’d always known there was a chance he’d run into the Chosen Children again, but he figured they’d be older, all but unrecognizable.
But this girl, Hikari, with her radiant light, oh Chaospiemon remembered her.
If he hadn’t already given his identity away with his obvious distaste for the two of them, perhaps the former Dark Master could try to play it cool with Hikari and Tailmon...As much as he hated them, the last thing he wanted was for Tristyn to find out anything about his past.

{I am very, very, very much resisting the urge to make live action icons for this blog using 2017 Pennywise as a faceclaim for Nazario but the biggest thing stopping me is I don’t know who I’d use for Tristyn}
#Shut up Zae#Fuck Hollywood for casting 25 year olds as teenagers because no faceclaim I look at looks right

At the question both Tristyn and Narzario looked away from each other and stayed silent for a moment, “An old friend.” Nazario replied quietly.
Tristyn added, sadly “She was an Elecmon, Dominic’s partner. We all named our partners, Heather had Tana, Jesse had Haydrick and then there was me and Nazario.”
He looked down at the slightly burnt mushroom at the end of his stick, copying their action of looking away in an attempt to appear normal.
He was afraid to ask, but as always, his curiosity won. “Um, you’re saying everything in the past tense… What do you mean by ‘was’?” Veno asked with a slight stutter.
“...”
Tristyn still looked away, said nothing, and scooted away from Nazario when he reached to put a comforting hand on her shoulder. He sat there awkwardly for a few seconds, clearly wanting to help his partner but aware that nothing he did would provide any comfort to the girl. “Ah…” Seren was surprised to see the other girl and her Digimon. But at least they didn’t seem threatening, for the moment.
“Hiya!” Otamamon answered! “I’m Otamamon, and this is my ppartner, Seren!”
“Y-yes… N-nice to meet you…” Seren quietly greeted the girl.
“You’ll have to forgive her,” Otamamon explained. “She’s very anxious around other people.” Otamamon quickly turned her attention back to her partner. “Show ‘em your digivice, Seren!”
“…..” Seren wordlessly unclipped her digivice from her bag’s strap, showing it to them. It was different than theirs, just a very simple, small digivice.
“Wow.” Tristyn looked at the other girl’s Digivice with wonder, she hadn’t ever seen one like that, “Yours is so different from mine!”
Her partner squinted at the Digivice, recognizing it but not the girl and her Digimon. Nazario was quick to wipe the suspicious scowl off his face when Tristyn turned to him, now wearing a nervous expression and clutching her hand with both of his, “D-do you have any friends with y-you?” He asked with a shy stutter to match Seren’s “I m-mean. Other humans...w-with Digimon?”

clowntricksandgoldknights:
Unlike a lot of Digimon who had reached mega-level, Piedmon was still quite fond of his name and internally rejoiced at the chance to use it again.
“Oh I do! I do.” He proclaimed excitedly. “It’s Maddigan! And Grademon’s name is Bowen.”
It took him a minute to realize that he probably should not have told her that without his friend’s consent, but it was too late now. “Uh, don’t tell him I told you. And if he tells you his name, try to act surprised, please?”
Embarrassment at his slip up washed over him immediately and Piedmon- Maddigan, twitched nervously, seeking some kind of distraction.
His hands eventually settled on the pack of playing cards he kept in his jacket. Maddigan pulled them out and quickly set about shuffling them awkwardly as he started to walk towards the village. “So, we’re agreed that we’re gonna go the Festi- to the village?”
Maddigan felt a twinge of guilt at having almost mentioned going to the Festival without Grademon, or Nazario. He distracted himself with the cards again.
“Y-yeah. Nazario would feel better about me going somewhere where there will be lots of people to hide among, rather than waiting in the open.” Tristyn replied, looking toward the direction her Digivice said Nazario was, and then back toward the village.
She looked at Maddigan, that was a nice name, she was sure they’d get along, “Do you know any card tricks?” She asked, “Nazario knows tons of them, and he taught me how to do one. May I?” She asked, holding out her hands for the cards to show Maddigan the trick if he would let her.

“I’m not sure, exactly…”
“Bakumon brought us. He’s…He was checking hospitals for children who could come to the Digital World. We were all in critical condition, so I guess he just wired himself up to the computers monitoring us and just brought our minds in, or something. He…He also died before he could tell us any of the details.”
“Holy shit,” Kouichi blurted before covering his mouth, thinking.
“I didn’t think there was anyone else like… that. But a Bakumon brought a bunch of you together while you were in hospitals?” the boy blinks incredulously. “That sounds almost worse than a giant evil bunny bringing a spirit over to do its bidding by tying its heart to darkness or something.”
“But - ! It still must be… hard to be the only one who survived that kind of thing. I mean… something similar did happen to me, but your friends… I’m… sorry.”
Tristyn nodded, “Yes, it is. It’s all my fault anyway, Nazario only did it because he thought I was dead and he sort of went nuts over it...” There was something else too, but Tristyn kept her mouth shut. She didn’t have enough information to really bring up Nazario’s past, but she suspected- no, she knew- there was a lot of things he wasn’t telling her about his life before being reborn.
Instead, she changed the subject, “And your partner? You’ve been avoiding talking about them, but I suppose after admitting that my partner murdered all our friends, there’s not much that would shock me.” Tristyn said, “Is that evil bunny you mentioned your partner? Or something about a Spirit?”

“Tamer,” Vickie repeated, taking the hand offered to her and giving it a single, firm shake. “I think it’s basically like the same thing, though.” She shrugged her shoulders, then folded her arms. “Were you guys headed anywhere in particular?”
Tristyn shrugged, “No, not really. Guess we’re just looking for a place to belong right now. Not a lot of places we’ve stopped at so far like having humans around, and the ones that do don’t tend to like him very much.” She explained, nodding to her partner.

She shook her head, “No…We can’t…” she wiped her tears and reached for her Digivice. If Nazario were close by…
There was a tiny blip in the corner of the screen, blinking slowly and then disappearing for a few seconds, and reappearing again to blink slowly and vanish once again. “He’s alive…” She announced, “But out of range. I can’t go that far on my own, I’d never reach him in time.”
Not sure of the danger the other Piedmon thought they could be in, Tristyn swallowed hard and asked, “Who’s the Digimon with the black cloak?”
Piedmon’s lips twisted into an ugly frown and debated whether or not he should answer her question. True, she might be better off knowing what she and her partner had just gotten mixed up it, but Piedmon was not convinced that he wanted to share that information.
Finally he relented, “Blackomnimon.” He said the name as if it were a curse. “He’s been after Grademon and I for a long time. Sends his goonies after us whenever he’s not in the mood to chase us down himself.”
In a split second, Piedmon decided he wanted to try to be optimistic. “Hey, maybe our friends got away! Grademon is really powerful, and I bet your Nazario is too. Maybe, if we go the the village and wait, they’ll arrive!”
It seemed too optimistic, even for Piedmon, but there was little else he could think of for them to do at the moment. He was not in any condition to go after them yet, and Tristyn had already expressed that she could not go out by herself.
“At the very least, we can rest before we go looking for them.” He corrected himself.
Tristyn sniffed and wiped her eyes again, “Well...Nazario is pretty powerful, even without my help and Grademon looked really strong too. If anybody’s going to look for anybody it should be them looking for us, I’d only get hurt if I tried to go after them and Nazario...Wouldn’t take that too well.”
She looked at the Piedmon, “Do you have a name?” She asked, she knew a lot of Digimon didn’t, especially at his level but if he did that greatly decreased her chances of accidentally calling him by her partner’s name.

“Are you alright Mister Nazario?” the younger digimon tilted his head, looking at him quizzically.
“Is there something you wanted to ask?”
“No.” Nazario replied bluntly and tapped his foot. From the outside it probably looked like an impatient tick, but Tristyn knew her partner better than that.
“It’s not…You’re not thinking about, Hestia and the others, are you?” She asked sadly.
He wasn’t, but he dared not admit who he really was thinking of and shifted slightly, “Yes, I was.” He lied.
“Oh-okay,” Veno mumbled, shrinking in on himself a little. Nervously, the vampiric Digimon bit his lower lip, accidentally piercing the skin.
Trying to turn his attention away from the small pain, Veno turned to Trystyn again.
“I’m willing to wager that this Hestia isn’t the one from human legends… Who is she?”

“I don’t know, one second I was up on that cliff and the next the ground just…” She clasped her hands together to pantomime the action of the rock disappearing, “Vanished!”
“Tristyn!”
Her partner leaped into view, two swords drawn and poised threateningly at the two strangers. The blonde girl had to jump between them to make sure the clown-like Digimon didn’t attack them, “No, don’t!” She cried, “It’s alright! It was an accident!
She turned her head back to the pair, “My name is Tristyn.” She introduced, “Tristyn Sharp. And this is my partner, Nazario.” Though he had stopped advancing now that she was between him and the targets, the Chaospiemon had not lowered his weapons.
The Stingmon across from him looked to have gotten defensive as well, wings spread and ready to carry him. The stingers in his gauntlets had extended outward and were pointed in the Mega’s direction as soon as he’d leapt into view, despite being hopelessly outclassed in power.
A sidelong glance from the ebony-haired girl only managed to get him to half drop the stance.
“I’m Vickie,” she introduced herself as Tristyn had, gesturing to herself, then to the Insectoid at her side. “This is Basil. I’m his tamer. We come here every now and again to help out Digimon who need it.”
“It’s a pleasure to meet you.” Tristyn said offering her hand to Vickie, though she glanced to her partner who did still did not seem to trust the pair of strangers and made sure to stay between them as she continued.
“Nazario and I are here...well, I guess because we have nowhere else to go... and no one to miss us for being gone either.” She looked visibly saddened by her own remark, but put a smile on her face, “But it’s always nice to see another Chosen Child- er Trainer- or whatever you said.”

“Ah!” There’s a quiet shout of surprise from Seren, as Otamamon perked up.
“Hi there!” Otamamon looked around for any sign of the voice’s owner. “Imagine running into someone else here! How are you, friend?”
“O-Otamamon, we don’t know if they’re friendly….”
“Best to assume they are,” the small Digimon shrugged, hopping ahead of Seren in the direction of the voice. “Imagine running into someone else here!”
Tristyn heard the not too distant reply and reached her hand down so her partner could take it. “We’re over here!” She called back, starting in the direction of the response in a few moments she was turning into an open area where she saw the Otamamon and not far behind, another girl.
Tristyn almost sighed with relief, not just because at last she had found another human, but because there was only one. She didn’t know if she could handle a big crowd of people. Cautiously, the blonde lifted up her Digivice, a black and white D3 model and introduced them, “Hi there. My name is Tristyn. Tristyn Sharp, and this is Nazario. You?”
