                                                                             logan would be MINDFUL of her approach, of her mannerisms, of her B E I N G ;; perhaps because she knew how ( c r i t i c a l l y ) a slight would be taken towards offense. she stopped just short of leaning against the gate, hands still laying plainly at her side, but she would focus intently upon CHARLIE as if any other mindless interaction behind her was completely inconsequential ;; which they often were. logan feared for the raptors, quite truthfully, because nothing with TEETH that sharp or CLAWS that large could ever live docile                                   there was a need to DEVOUR that logan could see behind their eyes. they could POSSIBLY see it in hers. ❛ do ya like it here ? ❜

        did she like it here? a loaded question, at best. there was a certain charm and appeal to being gaped at in awe, yes. and there was a LUXURY to having food practically handed to her on a silver platter. but the entire lifestyle all felt artificial. with its monthly tests and check-ups, taming and training as if she were a PET. as much as the ALPHA showed respect and understanding, there was a lack of purpose to her existence on the island. a mere sideshow attraction, when it was in her nature to be something else. but she too was ARTIFICIAL. an amalgamation cooked up in a laboratory. a specimen. she gets the feeling this stranger knows. relates. charlie was HUNGRY for more. a feral growl rips beyond serrated teeth: it’s not HOSTILE, but an answer to her question, a revelation that charlie is not, and never will be the chirping runt of a raptor that had hatched out of the egg’s brittle shell. with time, she was growing into something far more LETHAL.

BLUXBETA.

     she can see it-the swaying, barely concealed tail out the corner of her eye, just enough to give WARNING to the inevitable pounce. yet, rather than move out of the way of such a surprise, she elects to stay in her place-least give the youngest some form of f u n.

       delta and echo may likely not have stayed put — but there was a sense of authority, of maturity that blue held as the NEXT IN CHARGE. the beta. she provided for the toher raptors’ individual needs; charlie’s just so happened to be entertainment, a stark relief from the idle goings-on in the enclosure. a victorious SCREECH pierces the air as she lurches upon her sister, oblivious to her element of surprise having been rendered inefficient. in her eyes, the tackle was COMPLETELY successful.

BREATHOFCARRION.

        Had she wanted to outright kill the deep-claw, she would         have had more than enough opportunity to do so. But the         purposeful allowing of herself to be seen  would  indicate         against that. 

        No, indeed she had become…tolerant of the species, of         late. Mayhaps it due regarding the swollen gut  that  she         carried, full to bursting with what once was a sweet flesh.         Instead she just watched. Wondering. Idle curiosity shown         across a gore-flecked visage. Then, a rumble-testing. To          see how the little deep-claw would respond.

      there was a vivid excitement to be derived from being in the presence of such a DANGEROUS GIANT, a fearful chill propelling her to pace on the spot — ready to sprint beyond the beast should the opportunity present itself as necessary. of course, the being was no RAPTOR, so language was not fully effective a communication device — while she spoke in deep rumbles, charlie could only offer a caw in response. one that promised respect to the mighty monster as she raised her head to peer up properly. charlie would not die a coward, that much was for certain.

       finally, a face charlie was FAMILIAR with. the oncoming stampede of tourists and toddlers could become quite taxing as it were, if only for the lack of a relationship. no respect, and no permission to eat any of them. just sit and look pretty as they gawped at the lizards with OOH’S and AH’S to their heart’s content. but the female spotted now was one that ALPHA had made strikingly clear was family, regardless of whether the raptors appreciated it or not. to nobody’s surprise, they didn’t. still, charlie assocaites her presence with potential food, so she’ll behave for now, head tilted up expectanly.

       needless to say, there was something amiss about the latest arrival to the raptor enclosure. a sniff draws from nostrils atop a narrow snout as she stalks the perimeter, her gaze flitting to the female wth suspicion. she wasn’t like the others — she could mask herself in a shroud of DISGUISE all she wished, but charlie knew the truth. and truth be told, she was quite proud of herself for noticing. would ALPHA be proud too... ? all the same, a curious tilt of her head arises, wondering if perhaps, she can communicate. a squawk is the only sound provided: it’s neither friendly nor HOSTILE. a greeting.

       she’d heard stories of this one. an alleged TAMER OF BEASTS much larger than charlie or her sisterhood. the mightiest of monsters would bow down to this petite human, and charlie couldn’t understand why. she was as apparently vulnerable as any of the others who came peering through the bars. no CLAWS, no TALONS, no TEETH. but she seemed to exert the very same authority the ALPHA did. charlie’s mind was laced with intrigue, a tentative chitter offered forth to her opponent.

       you’d better have some sort of food to COMPROMISE the raptor with. claws and stealth are not on your side, and she’s more than willing to compensate a lack of rats or piglets or other FRESH MEAT for YOU. talons click with eager anticipation against the ground, tail flicking and no longer idle as it sways with wild swipes from side to side. she takes slow, leisurely steps, confident in her abilities to outrun what seems to be her next meal. the paces don’t take her in a direct beeline towards him, but instead circle her prey in a game of CAT and MOUSE. it’s easy to perceive, on her end, who the MOUSE is.

✗ ┅ ❝ LOVEDHARDER​. ❞

       the familiarity is a welcome contrast to the BARRAGE of onlookers who are only interested in one thing; a MASSACRE. there was simply no appeal to the raptor enclosure if bloodlust wasn’t prominent, resulting in a paddock devoid of company. but the petite morsel of a girl that makes her presence known is a pleasant surprise, only to be accompanied by a caw of delight. there aren’t many to have stuck around for the entirety of her lifespan: she ensures to be mildly appreciative of every single one of them.

       her curiosity is successfully piqued, but not by any means of HUNGER, for once. rats had been MAULED eaten just moments before, so her stomach is satiated for now. she trails with lazy paced footfalls to the bars of the cage: the majority of tourists had long since gone, the THRILL of feeding time over and therefore, their interest gone. charlie had always had a love-hate relationship with attention regardless: the limelight, as tempting as it was, came with LITTER thrown by toddlers and whoops of laughter if it so happened to hit one of the reptiles. however, the blonde charlie had spotted showed no such sign of IRRITATION towards her.

       narrow snout peers through two gargantuan leaves, and a breath of hot air is huffed upon her sleeping sister — a mild attempt at waking the fellow lizard. it’s a facile task for the youngest of the pack to become bored, and fatigue is no valid excuse to deny her of entertinment. not gaining a sufficient response, she chitters softly, nuzzling with gentle nudges toward the other’s head. eventually, she settles with her own body aside the cerulean-scaled raptor, rolling over with playful jest — meanwhile, narrow pupil directs itself toward the other, making certain she has blue’s full attention.

       she’s yet to make a move of retort, but have no fear — she plans to. her gaze is fixated with much interest on the commendable KILL her sister had accomplished. already, the seeping blood had made itself known to her, the odor fresh with the reeking DEATH that accompanied such an attack. and never theirs. vulnerability was not something the raptors were yet accustomed to. her time comes, and she springs from the shrubs with an eager leap provided by lithe legs. the squawk that erupts is one of childish complaint: to be expected from the youngest. S H A R E.

       brisk darts through the foliage leave charlie hidden and UNSCATHED — one would only catch a glimpse of a reptilian tail if fortunate, for her viridian markings and scattered stripes left her ridden with the art of CAMOUFLAGE. even more so than her sisters. her prey has NO CHANCE in the claws of its assailant, a true PREDATOR in the making. she runs rampant, the distance being diminished with little effort — her eyes are trained on the piglet, for she’s on the HUNT. and yet, at the last second, it CHEATS, sprints through the bars with a high-pitched SQUEAL, leaving charlie empty-handed and hissing at the barriers — begrudgingly, she quietens at the presence of another.
