IM BACK

Soooo... I took a long break from learning anything oops. After those attempts, I went on to get an internship for school that was unrelated to HTML and CSS, graduated university and got a full time job and forgot about studying anything unrelated to my work. 

But something in me wants to learn again, after all these years, and this time I’m serious about it. So serious that earlier this month I bought a course from Udemy on Web Development and have finished the HTML portion and am making my way through CSS. I feel like I’ve learned so much in such a short amount of time that suddenly the possibilities are endless. 

Okay enough ramble. Here’s what I’ve come up with so far, a landing page for a little project I have in mind:

Only a gif because I cannot figure out how to make custom HTML pages on tumblr (if that’s even possible?). Anywho, we have a single webpage that utilizes some simple <forms> and some experimental css (by experiemental I mean stack overflow and google). I promise to update more often now! Also is the coding/developer part of tumblr active? Would love to find some blogs to follow.

HTML and CSS flashback

So I actually didn’t forget about this blog, which I think is a step in the right direction. I decided to give tumblr theme making a whirl, but I ended up with a layout that looks like a tumblr theme but isn’t compatible with tumblr //classic. Regardless, I got a chance to slip back into the html and css vibe and I liked it! Felt like I was 13 again, and furiously coding my graphics site (ah the good old days). 

The layout is suuuuuper simple, but I made use of the transition effect when hovering over the links and the posts, and I really liked it. I also had an icon sample but I cannot figure out how to work that using the tumblr blocks. Gah. Here’s the screencap of what I came up with:

Well it’s a start. The next goal is to actually make it a theme... But I feel like this design isn’t worthy enough of my effort and time. I think I’m gonna make a new one and try to figure out how to translate that one instead. As well, in the meantime I’ve started learning javascript! Yay for improvement.

First Shot

Hello world! *lol* Well today is the day I really decide to try. I’ve been meaning to get my hands on learning HTML and CSS and Javascript for soooooo long. Why? Well because I’m kind of studying the tech field, and also because I used to do it for fun as a kid... well not the Javascript part, I had no idea what that was back then. I think I associated it with those plugins you needed to play those flash games or something... Anyway, the point of this blog is to motivate me to learn. Because what made me want to learn HTML and CSS back then (albeit poorly) was because I had websites to create, ideas to get down, and things to share... So maybe, if this blog exists, I can find some reason to try and improve my skills. I want to make this blog look snazzy. That seriously is the only motivation right now. Maybe I’ll find more later on. So with that on the spur intro, here we go!
