A Letter To Our Firstborn Son, Our Rainbow Baby
Our dearest Geof,
11.22 | Two years ago, on this very day, your father and I received the most miraculous news. We had been through so much already, and my heart was heavy with doubt. After two heartbreaking miscarriages, I had almost given up on the dream of holding you in my arms. But then, on that day, everything changed. I remember feeling strange—something was off, and instead of filling my prescription, I knew I needed to do something else. I had your dad buy me a pregnancy test kit.
My heart stopped after a few moments. I could vividly remember thinking, "Could it be? Could this be our time?" And yes, the test came out positive.
It was only the beginning of the journey. The road to bringing you into this world was not easy, but from the start, you showed us that while you were delicate, you were a fighter too. In those early days, when we were told there was no heartbeat during the first ultrasound, my world came crashing down. But you held on my little boy, and when we returned, the surprise of all surprises—you were not alone! We were going to have twins! Our joy knew no bounds, but life wasn’t finished testing us yet. Soon after, I began to bleed, and with another ultrasound, we learned that your twin didn’t survive.
The loss left me feeling inadequate. I was anxious. All I could think about was YOU. I could no longer bear another heartbreak… But you, my brave baby, kept growing strong. Even though we didn’t have everything we needed, we held on to the belief that this was God’s plan for us. There were days of doubt and fear, but we knew we had to trust the journey we were on. Your dad and I knew that if you could fight so hard to stay with us, we could fight just as hard to bring you into this world.
Through the hardships, I had to make tough decisions. I left my corporate job, unsure of what the future would hold. The financial pressures felt unbearable but if it meant your overall welfare, it was well worth the sacrifice. Those moments when it felt impossible, each day you grew stronger, teaching us to hold on to faith and to never give up.
And now, as I write this letter to you, I am in awe of the little person you’ve become—our healthy, goofy, beautiful 16-month-old son who fills our lives with more joy than I ever thought possible.
Your arrival has forever changed our world. You are a blessing beyond words, and we promise to protect you, love you, and cherish you with every ounce of our being. I hope that one day, when you read this letter, you will see just how much you mean to us and how your presence has transformed our lives for the better. From the moment we learned you were on your way to today, you’ve taught us the true meaning of hope, resilience, and love.
We will always be here for you, through every joy and every challenge that life may bring. You are our miracle, our rainbow after the storm, and we will forever thank God for the gift of you.
With all our love,
Mom & Dad

Unleash the beast she hides inside,
Unfold wonders she's terrified;
Challenge the monster she can't defy,
Trust there's more to it than meets the eye.

Grief seems like walking on a frozen river; most of the time you feel safe enough, but there is always that danger that you will plunge through.

If life is a GAME, these are the RULES:
1. You will receive a body. You may like it or hate it, but it's yours to keep for the entire period.
2. You will learn lessons. You are enrolled in a full-time informal school called, "life."
3. There are no mistakes, only lessons. Growth is a process of trial, error, and experimentation. The "failed" experiments are as much a part of the process as the experiments that ultimately "work."
4. Lessons are repeated until they are learned. A lesson will be presented to you in various forms until you have learned it. When you have learned it, you can go on to the next lesson.
5. Learning lessons does not end. There's no part of life that doesn't contain its lessons. If you're alive, that means there are still lessons to be learned.
6. "There" is no better a place than "here." When your "there" has become a "here", you will simply obtain another "there" that will again look better than "here."
7. Other people are merely mirrors of you. You cannot love or hate something about another person unless it reflects to you something you love or hate about yourself.
8. What you make of your life is up to you. You have all the tools and resources you need. What you do with them is up to you. The choice is yours.
9. Your answers lie within you. The answers to life's questions lie within you. All you need to do is look, listen, and trust.
10. YOU WILL FORGET ALL THIS.

I don’t have your phone (yes I love my Blackberry lol), but I know that when I’m given an APPLE, I’m NOT going see it as a fruit anymore. See how you changed the world? Yesterday, an APPLE was only Snow White's fairy tale. Today, an APPLE is almost everybody’s reality. You are one amazing guy, Steve! You make me want to be the change you have been to this now 🍏-shaped world. We’ll have a drink UP THERE soon, yes?

A Little Bit of Everything
1. I can be a very good friend — or be the worst. Choose wisely.
2. I've been to that awkward stage of going crazy over ❌ friends' spontaneous hangout ❌ loud music ❌ trendy places ❌ reckless splurges ❌ YOLO mindset ... I still have the hangover.
3. I care about others' welfare; NOT how they live their life.
4. I value the opinion of those people I love, I care, and I respect; if you're not any of them, don't expect me to give a damn.
5. I distance myself from hypocrite, nasty, shallow-minded, arrogant people. Let's create a healthy environment for everyone. 🙃
6. I do my best to live by this 👉 Always be kind for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.
7. I believe there exists an ultimate being, above and beyond this tangible and material world. I call Him GOD.
8. I talk to myself 90% of the time.
9. I deserve endless chances to grow. So do YOU.
10. I used to always speak my mind. Too straightforward, too honest, too careless - that used to be.
11. I bloom the most when things turn BLACK-AND-WHITE – you know what I mean.
12. I find it hard to cry over spilled milk. I wasn't raised that way.
13. I have a changing mood: very easily affected, sporadically fluctuating, and insanely hard to control.
14. I like to explore new places, with company or all alone.
15. I love arts and crafts.
16. I love nature-tripping. 🍃
17. I LOOOOOOOOOOVE traveling! *can’t stress that enough
18. I believe that everything happens for a reason.
19. I hate 🧀 for no reason.
20. I daydream E-V-E-R-Y-D-A-Y. I mean, who doesn’t?
21. I get so much attracted to shades of red and all the neutrals.
22. I salute my PARENTS... despite the "love-hate" relationship.
23. I CAN dance and sing but I never said I'm good at them.
24. I will do everything for my family. When I say everything, I mean EVERYTHING.
25. I take risk. Duh, I was a reckless kind.
26. I am scared of the dark.
27. I mourn so much.
28. I get what I know I want. Whatever it takes.
29. I play a lot. I have the heart of a child.
30. I am in continuous search for my REAL HAVEN.
31. I want to break free. ALL THE TIME.
32. I can hardly fool myself.
33. I CAN'T be manipulated. I play the fool, it doesn’t mean you got me.
34. I fix my own mess. No, not really. I TRY.
35. I know my worth. YOU CAN'T AFFORD IT.
So that's me. Accept it or just let me be.

That Girl
"Summer is LOVE"
- she doubts it's real.
Under the hot, shining sun
she feels so futile.
  She's looking for something,
staring at the wide horizon.
She's carrying her luggage
It is heavy, not to mention.
  To everyone she's a stranger,
a traveler, not even a threat;
but the fact still remains
her mystery is no mistake.
  Summer has been cruel,
so cautious she must be.
She used to be trusting
yet pain showed her reality.
  That bitterness in her eyes
has deepness immeasurable.
She truly can't be fair
no one can read her soul.
  Now she's glaring at emptiness
Oh, that face in sober!
Perhaps giving up the luggage
Will help her feel better.
  Yes, there's more to her
than usual "meets the eye".
And as summer would end
she'd also bid goodbye.
  For that girl is something
a symbol of genuine strain.
That girl, yes, that girl
she is meant to reign.
  Careful you, people,
when she'd take her stand
she may appear 'nobody'
but she lays a secret plan.
  That girl... That girl...
THAT GIRL IS ME!
I'm done with mourning;
I'm back to fighting.

Young Noah: It’s not about following your heart and it’s not about keeping your promises. It’s about security.
Young Allie: What’s that supposed to mean?
Young Noah: [yelling] Money. He’s got a lot of money!
Young Allie: You smug bastard. I hate you for saying that!
Young Noah: You’re bored Allie. You’re bored and you know it. You wouldn’t be here if there wasn’t something missing.
Young Allie: You arrogant son of a bitch!
Young Noah: Would you just stay with me?
Young Allie: Stay with you? What for? Look at us, we’re already fightin’.
Young Noah: Well that’s what we do, we fight… You tell me when I am being an arrogant son of a bitch and I tell you when you are a pain in the ass. Which you are, 99% of the time. I’m not afraid to hurt your feelings. You have like a 2 second rebound rate, then you’re back doing the next pain-in-the-ass thing.
Young Allie: So what?
Young Noah: So it’s not gonna be easy. It’s gonna be really hard. We’re gonna have to work at this every day, but I want to do that because I want you. I want all of you, for ever, you and me, every day. Will you do something for me, please? Just picture your life for me? 30 years from now, 40 years from now? Would you stop thinking about what everyone wants? Stop thinking about what I want, what he wants, what your parents want. What do YOU want? What do you WANT?
