Left: in New Super Mario Bros. U/Deluxe, Yoshi activates Donut Blocks by standing on them, causing them to turn red and subsequently fall.

Right: in the New Super Mario Bros. U game style of Super Mario Maker 2, however, Yoshi does not activate Donut Blocks, and can stand on them indefinitely. Of course, if the player is riding Yoshi, the blocks are activated as usual.

There are two ways of interpreting this: if the Donut Blocks are taken to be weight-activated, then this suggests Yoshi lost weight between these two appearances. If instead the internal logic is taken into account whereby enemies do not usually activate Donut Blocks, but player characters do, this suggests that Yoshi is now an enemy.

Seeing all this discourse around angelic kitty miracle chan just makes me really fucking wish I saw She's the He at SXSW. I was literally in downtown Austin when that shit was happening, I just couldn't figure out how to sign up for the film screenings at Alamo Drafthouse.

Caught wind of this from a friend's letterboxd review. Not as bad as they say it is, but it definitely does suffer the same problem as TV Glow of being little more than trans misery porn. Doesn't help that it can't really do anything more given the 7-minute format. It's very real, but I don't really want all trans media going forward to just be variations of this. Gimme more nuanced expressions of the trans experience, damnit!

I can very much appreciate all the prop design to make miracle-chan feel like a real character in this world, that much is very commendable. Overall, pretty good elevator pitch for a character study, but on its own it doesn't deliver the punch it thinks it does. Could've definitely benefited from being longer or having additional drafts.

In the WarioWare Touched microgame "Don't Blow It", the aim is to light the candles on a cake by dragging a burning match over them.

However, as referenced by the name of the microgame, there is also an Easter egg whereby blowing into the Nintendo DS's microphone after completing the game will extinguish the candles. This does not affect the completion of the microgame; it will count as being won either way. Note also that the candles can not be extinguished before all of them are lit.
