getting your self out there
to be a professional photography is going to be quite hard as there is more work then just taking photos you need to keep organized and keep under the time you have to get to complete the work you have been given, the resourced i have have been very useful as i know the owner of London camera exchange this has helped me get some of my camera equipment and getting my name out there a bit more, i did work experience here this helped me how the industry of different styles of photography work. i have a page on Facebook but i have only got 41 likes, i need to promote my work and doing volunteer work to begin with and then go into doing my business as doing volunteer work is getting my name out there a little and gives me the opportunity to gather my skills,

five year plan
in my five year plan i want to go from college to get into a job doing retail so i get the experience i need and to keep doing my photography work as a hobby for now then when i have more money when i have saved up to rent my own studio with studio equipment, lighting, backdrop and the stands,i would keep my work local as Mansfield doesn't have many photography shops so this would benefit my work as there int much compensations in the local area, i would do work experience doing second shooting to get my name out there and to get more experience with photography doing wedding and portraits in and out of the studio. i would like to work in photography doing wedding, portraits, events and animals as i find these are my strongest point, doing surreal, abstract work i find this a really hard subject for me to get ideas, my plans have changed over the last six months as i want to already have a job to start saving up to get into my own business, i think to improve my photography i need to get work experience and to promote myself more as a photographer

about the photos
the photos i had posted are off different types/styles of portfolios that you can use when going for an interview, such as the black leather ring bound, and booklets, these are the two most common forms of a portfolio. i have a ring bounded one that i will use then getting a interview as i find this a better way to present my work in and its more portable and easier to carry around.

Jane + Neil
Retford photographers Dax Photographics is owned and run by Jane and Neil Brownley who have been photographers for many years and have made a passion for photography into their business.
When looking for a name for their business they named it after Dax their faithful long haired White German Shepherd.
Photographs will be taken by Jane who will visit you to discuss your personal needs. Her husband Neil will assist with the photography on larger events.
Jane will plan your photographs with you prior to your special day or event enabling you to relax in the knowledge that she will provide the photographs that you desire.
Jane and Neil offer a full range of services, ranging from 1 hour photo shoots to full day events, and everything in between.
Packages can include on site viewing of images and printing up to A4 size at the event. Larger sizes can be ordered for posting out at a later date.
Studio lighting and backgrounds are available on request.
Wedding packages start from £300 and a family 1 hour photo shoot costs £45. Why not phone or e mail for a no obligation quote.
- What’s the word count? 191
- What information do they include? They include who they are, what they do, the cost, why they names the business ‘dax’, what availabilities they have
- What’s the overall tone of their bio? Why have they chosen this tone? The overall tone in my point of view is quite dull and boring, they don’t say much about their work and how they do their work to make them stand out
- Is there anything unusual or different about their bio? If so, what? Why do you think they did this? Its different to kev Matthews bio as he was more chatting to draw you in, in comparison jane and keil don’t sound that talkative to expand on the ideas you already have

kevin matthews
My name is Kev Matthews and I am a professional photographer based in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. I've been taking photographs for over 35 years, along with my wife Kate and daughter Kerry we are a family run business, our goal is to provide you with outstanding photography that captures the atmosphere, fun and excitement of your wedding day. With this in mind we plan your wedding day photography prior to your big day, so we can work quickly and efficiently so you can spend more time with your family and friends.
So after the flowers have wilted and there's only crumbs left from the cake,
we will bring back your memories with beautiful photographs and a DVD slide show
that captures everything shared on your day.
This will include that special song that means so much to you both. So if you wish for a private consultation with no obligation, don't hesitate to call us to browse through our albums in the comfort of our studio so you may ask any questions that you may have.
A booking fee of just £250.00 is required to reserve your date. But may I suggest that you telephone first just to see if we have your date available as many couples do book with us over a year in advance.
Evening appointments are available up to 9.00pm
If you feel your perfect day would be captured perfectly by us but your budget doesn't quite stretch, why not place us on your wedding list?
What’s the word count? The word count for Kev Matthews statement is 249 words
What information do they include? The information that he includes are where about he is based, his style of photography and who he works with eg his wife and daughter, he shares how he will present your work to you with everything that happened on your wedding day he also includes the booking fee and to make sure you check that date is available .
What’s the overall tone of their bio? Why have they chosen this tone? The tone he uses in his personal statement is quite happy and cheerful, kind of like he is having a laugh with you by the rhetorical question at the end this makes the reader think that is you do put them on the wedding list it not be as expensive.
Is there anything unusual or different about their bio? If so, what? Why do you think they did this? He uses a bold capital letter at the start of each paragraph to section it into three different buts so you know where to find the information.

how to network
In your own words, what do you need to do to build up a useful network of clients and friends:
you can use social media, and to build up a portfolio to show other people to get feedback and to present your work to other. to do a good photoshoot and people might recommend you.
Use social media photography clubs, meet-ups or workshops happening in the Nottinghamshire area that you could attend. Post the details alongside a brief explanation of what you could hope to get out of attending and how it would benefit you as a photographer.
With a twist i think this would be good to go to as it is supporting people with mental health issues and it is all for charity, i think this is a good event to promote work at and to meet new people at, this will give you an understanding of how the other photographers work and what conditions they will work in,
sumpters the image makers event this event is all bout different styles of portrait like wedding, prom and family portraits i think this is good as this is the style of work i would like to go into, so i think this is a good event that i could possibly go to to get feedback of my portrait images and to build up my portfolio and to get work with the photographer

Events Photiography
I am interested in doing event photography also as I think overall this is a great career path, there is quite a few jobs to do with events like festival, wedding, gigs and parties, I think doing this career path at first will be hard to get into as I have had no experience doing any of these but I think that it would be great to get some experience and experiment with the images overall. like the idea of traveling to different places to get these images as there is quite a few festivals that go on in the year,
you don't really need any qualifications to do this job but going to university will help you get into bigger events further in the past

Portrait photography
PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER.
I am interesting in this career path because I like setting up the studio to get the right lighting and equipment I think this is my strength out off all different types of photography as I find portraits interesting to do as you can do different styles like pets, family, group and single portraits, I find these interesting as you can do more within the image and you can edit the images to make them look surreal and abstract. I think doing portrait long term as a job will be a great career path to go down as you can earn a large income and doing this freelance you can work the hours around your life, doing this as a lifestyle you will be steady with a job, at first it will be hard to get into portrait photography as there is others around and customers not come straight away but as you progress with your work I think overall you will have a great lifestyle in this career path
the qualifications you need to get into doing a portrait photography is a overall photography level 3, with portrait photography you can either go freelance or go onto university to further study into portrait.
