[Once the lights reach the display case, Carver opens it, shoving you into the strange red space now visible in the case.]

[Inside, this area seems much larger than it looked from the outside. Spacious, yes, but something about the air is...wrong.]

[Carver closes the case, and. Oh. It becomes very evident as the electric cage fizzles out that this space is relatively infinite. There aren't any walls; the blurred and warping, red and black floor seems to be miles away; and no matter how far or in what direction you go, nothing gets any closer or farther.]

[The only window is above, where the glass of the display case seems to be. Carver can be seen, looking down on you.]

[There are things in the distance, their claws clacking against the tiled floors of HQ. By all accounts they should be far too distant to hear, yet it's almost as if they want you to hear them.]

[One suddenly roars. It sounds faint and low pitched, almost robotic.]

[Carver is silent, aside from the sound of its claws clacking on the ship's floor as it slides open the door of room 4.]

[Inside room 4 is what looks like a small display case, with several wires connecting it to machines of unknown purpose. there are large buttons in front of the case, all labeled with foreign symbols.]

[Carver grins, striding up to the case and using its tail to press a button on one of the machines to the right of it. The whole room begins to glow faintly as angular lines light up purple-green from the ceiling to the walls to the floor to the table to the display case.]

"0-class Apocalypse scenario" is just me liking the idea of "K-class end of the world scenario" from SCP

instruments - I actually tried to go for a similar vibe to another sad song I have that I repurposed from a previous rp group (it's ♙'s Theme, I'll post it later). the double music box 2 and single slow strings for that sorrowful and alone feel, and because those are what I used in ♙'s Theme.

I also knew as soon as I noticed the site had one that I had to include recorder, for. obvious reasons.

The Tea-E-O

tune - the first section of the theme is supposed to represent the cell itself; cold painted floors and metal bars. the song's overall slow pacing helps to enunciate the feeling of loneliness, as if time itself is slowing down to keep the space empty for a while longer.

the frequent key changes throughout the song represent the fact that while key details may change, the situation (or melody) stays the same. first it was a misunderstanding, then promise of escape and protection, then an emergency.

the second section is mainly up to interpretation. the recorder instrument playing a second tune before the others could be seen as representing MeRec wanting to escape one day; something different to that which the first section symbolizes. alternatively it could be taken as a general somber tune representing the struggle of being locked up in a cell for so long. or of course other things I didn't think of

I like to imagine the last section as a zoom out of the first; a realization of smallness, and that it's very unlikely for anything to change in the near future or perhaps even in the future at all. I think the extended silence at the very end encompasses that smallness even more, as if the universe itself waits a moment longer for a reason you can only speculate on.

instruments - I knew from the start I would want two drum channels. the style I was going for just has that signature I think. to be honest I kinda forgot halfway through that this was supposed to be confused/curious or hopeless/anxious but uh. whoops-

the percussive organ just felt right I think. like. it Sounds Like Porcelain to me. the supersaw pad and that custom chip are for a more technological feel, because I feel like anything this closely related to Meeple warrants it tbh

recorder for reasons that are similarly obvious to the other theme, hehe tearec moment

tune - the fast-paced nature of the main melody and very frequent key changes invokes that sense of frenetic anxiety you get in a place where there's never a day's rest and a new situation pops up each week.

this is also an indicator of a big staple in my composition style: "oh hey this 10 second loop sounds kinda fire. Let's Play It The Whole Theme"

the last bit was just me misplacing a note and then going "hey wait a minute"

it's loopable because the chaos never ends so why should the theme?
