No cap, but I've received a few asks about people wanting the iceberg explanation/breakdown. Because of this, I plan on writing a Google doc to explain each tier.

Not sure when it'll release, but I promise to get this up before 2024.

I admit that this blog was left to rot on purpose. The CS userbase shrank a lot and I felt a bit bored of the site. I only started to play CS again recently out of nostalgia.

There is a few things on the iceberg I do not know of, but I know most of it. For ones I know, I'll try and explain to the best of my abilities.

@ 639159835834957824 - the type of iceberg i’m referring to is one that is a metaphor and template for detailing obscure trivia from a certain topic. the tip of the iceberg is relatively well known knowledge, however it continues to get more and more obscure the deeper you go! i would love to see if cs has anything like that.

No shit Sherlock! Therapy is what's been helping my social anxiety, but it's assholes like you who's ruining the site for those who go there to ESCAPE.

Walked into some CS drama accidentally

On the front page, I saw a thread saying: “Mothdog OTA”. As someone who likes character designs, I took a look. 

Well, that’s when I stumbled across this. 

Here’s the comparison: 

The adopt, and in the description; it has nothing in it saying it was a knock off of the species Bluesardoyx owned. In my eyes, I don’t see anything similar. It was a pure coincidence and the person going after OP was blowing it out of proportion. The posts were removed pretty quickly.

Like everyone else said, you cannot copyright a dog or a moth. This basically turned 1 to 10 quick when it was a simple coincidence, but the hinoto-inu’s owner decided to jump the gun and harass an innocent artist. (Which is a scummy move.)

One thing I don’t get about the community: They were asking for a way to not let blocked users see their profile or follow them. Now there’s complaints about it being implemented? 

I’m very happy nick made this update.

I hate the new blocking feature. It was bad enough that I don’t even know why someone blocked me and now can’t interact with them. Now I’m not even allowed to follow their art?! I was doing literally no harm by just seeing what they post because I like their style. Ugh this is so petty and dumb.

What are your thoughts on the ftt helpers these days? Which ones know what they're talking about?

Late reply, but I have a l o t to say about the FTT. To answer your questions, I divided up in two parts: What are your thoughts on the ftt helpers these days?: It’s a big mess.  Unhealthy Demand is starting to plaque the site, and pretty much demonizing healthy/natural demand. The ‘helpers’ are fueling the fire, by taking a one-time willing overpay as the new price and claiming it’s now worth that much. That’s... not how values work. 

There’s a difference between willing overpay and actual values. Just because a pet fetches something really high once, doesn’t mean it’s now worth that. For a thread that’s ran by mods, they’re doing a very very poor job keeping it in check. The advice on there to drive up values is pretty much scamming, by saying a low rarity pet is worth so many VR’s and OMGSR’s. (Aka the shima Longtail) 

If you want to help on that thread, then...

Do. Your. Research. Without research and not telling the difference between willing overpay and values.... you don’t KNOW your values at all and you shouldn’t be posting. Don’t just use one source, use MULTIPLE. Find different trades and figure out the MEDIUM, not the fucking HIGHEST. 

Tl:dr; The FTT trade is a fucking mess because people don’t do their research or exercise common sense. Or too lazy to find the answers for their ‘advice’ and think it won’t mess up the economy. 

oh, and don’t be a crybaby if you get called out on purposely driving up demand lmao Which ones know what they're talking about?: I normally get my sources if a trade is fair from close friends and some servers, and I actually no longer take advice from that thread. (When it comes to getting advice in servers, I take it with a grain of salt) It’s hard for me to answer this specifically, but I’ll say just anyone who does their research and don’t try and milk out a pet’s demand. Tl;Dr:  I won’t be name dropping for my answer, but if like I said, anyone who does their actual research are the ones who knows what they’re talking about.

Can someone please explain the “list drama” I’m an idiot and have no clue what’s going on like 50% of the time

Sorry for the late response! So basically, a user named Kittyalia tried to remake the discontinued rares list. Lots of people protested and explained that the original creators of said list told NOT to remake one like it. 

They didn’t let the community have much input, except for those who supported their idea. Kitty also planned on putting the shima LT on it, which would create a MASSIVE greedy demand issue. 

Thankfully Kittyalia abandoned the new list, and discontinued apparently. We were pretty damn close to a catastrophic event of history repeating itself.
