how supernaturally dense do you have to be to see a bunch of predominantly white people cracking wise about shit like "george droyd" and "rosa sparks" and come to the conclusion that anyone who takes umbrage with this is an idiot baby who thinks robots are real have feelings. dead serious I think most of you would fall hook line and sinker for the frenworld bullshit

One of the things I try to do consistently is write from the perspective of Black girls and women because making them my POV characters allows me to make sure that their interiority is centered in the story.
Another thing is to make sure to center and focus on relationships between Black people of all genders- platonically, romantically, in rivalry, in comradery etc.
These are not the only relationships my Black characters can have but they are the central ones.
I know that the online gender wars can be very draining but I will always feel very protective of Black boys (children and teenagers) in fiction. I am turned off by any work that demonizes them or that is careless in its representation of them.
I hope that when you read my writing you can feel my fondness for Black boys, my hope for them, my desire to see them live healthy, full lives.
I hope that when you read my writing you understand that being in community with Black boys and men is very important to me. It's important to my characters. It's important in my vision of an ideal future.
#I see my brother so much in Black boys in stories#He is the lens through which I judge your treatment of Black men's humanity#And the vast majority of stories are found wanting

I think "they don't even have X" is one of those memes that's actually funnier in its original context than in anything that's been done with it subsequently. Like, in its original context, this is a joke about a man who has lived his entire adult life alone in a swamp cold-reading the atmosphere of a corporate workplace and deciding that appealing to the receptionist's sense of working-class solidarity is going to get him in the door, and it fucking works.

This photo of Aabria is giving me hottest character on a PBS show who will be responsible for many a queer awakening.
Like, she's about to teach us all something about science and about being hella gay.
I feel like Aabria has a secret goal to awaken all the gays. Like she always serves a fucking look and there's so much variety that she's hitting all the demographics.

The least relatable thing about me is that I get to, like, come to work every day with the funniest, kindest people in the whole wide world. And I know that's not a thing that everyone gets to do, and I know how lucky I am. And even coming to Game Changer, I hate surprises. I hate it. This is the scariest thing in the whole world. But knowing that I get to be here with people that I love and respect and who make me laugh and make me feel good, it's really nice. And fettuccine alfredo.

I miss when everyone on my dash listened to Welcome to Night Vale so there’s be a good chance that on any ole day someone would reblog a quote that would grab me by the throat and forcibly ascend me to a higher plane where I understood myself and the universe better and with more kindness but also a little spook

back in my day there weren't all these people calling themselves autistic
people back in their day:
[description: a Mythbusters clip
Narrator: Unfortunately, there's an issue with one of the hosts.
Jamie Hyneman: Apparently, I'm supposed to express a bunch of emotions. Happy. Unfortunately, what you see is what you get. Sad. I mean, I can distort my face in some kind of mimicry of what I understand is that emotion. Confused. That's about the best I can do. Afraid.
Narrator: Jamie clearly needs to upgrade his human emotion firmware.]
