“While I usually wouldn’t pay too much mind to prices, our... employer so to speak has been a little disgruntled with out use of our funds. It also doesn’t help that you use a different monetary system.” He shook his head, chuckling lightly.

“Thank you for your help, Ignis.” He bowed slightly to show appreciation. “My name is Cho Hakkai... that is, Cho being my surname.” Hakkai knew that the customs were different here in the west. “I’m from back east some ways. It’s a small town by the Yangtze river. There’s a temple there, although I’m unsure if it’s well known outside the local area.”

Ignis let out a low chuckle at the other man’s words. “It is no problem at all.” He glanced down at the ingredients close by, “There are a few spots I would suggest however this area is far too expensive. There is a cheaper area abit further down.” He paused, “My apologies, I never properly introduced myself. Ignis Scientia.” A kind smile formed on Ignis’ lips as he spoke. “May I inquire as to where you are from?”

"I was considering making a hot pot, so I would need cabbage, mushrooms, carrots, meat, tofu..." Hakkai listed the items off the top of his head. "I wasn't sure what this region would have, but hot pots leave a lot of room for improvisation." He wasn't sure if it was a dish the other man was familiar with. The area did seem rather western in style, but Hakkai supposed that made sense. They had been heading in that direction after all.

He smiled politely to the man. "Thank you for offering to help. While I'm fairly sure I wouldn't accidentally poison anyone with unfamiliar ingredients, I'd rather avoid killing my friends."

   .: Hakkai looked at the fresh produce at the market stand, examining it. He was certain they were on the right path, but this area had many fruits and vegetables he was unfamiliar with. A small dragon who sat on his shoulder sniffed at the vegetable in his hand, unsure. Perhaps he could ask someone what sorts of things it was used for.

“Ah, excuse me, sir,” he asked a man nearby who was also deciding on what to buy. “Is this a sort of potato? I’m unfamiliar with the shape. It’s much different than what I’m accustomed to back home, you see.”

{I may have followed a bunch of FFXV blogs thinking I was on Prompto. Not that Hakkai isn’t fully open to crossovers I just don’t know how many people know Saiyuki.}

A small smile crossed his lips. “I assume you were bored without me around?” Hakkai joked and turned back to him. “Maybe it’s me losing track of time now for a change.” It certainly didn’t seem like he was gone that long.

“You act like I wasn’t before,” he said, reaching an arm behind him. “It’s been a while, hasn’t it?”

Kenren pressed his head against Hakkai’s shoulder and curled his lips into a smile. “I just like hearing you affirm it~”  He leaned his head up and pressed his lips against Hakkai’s cheek and then let go f him. “Too long if you ask me, but I suppose you didn’t so!”
