modern au bridge four is a really shitty apartment that sadeas is the landlord of and he keeps raising rent while not sending maintenance fucking Ever and everyones apartment is falling apart and everyone is poor and depressed and sadeas Really Fucking Wants Kaladin Evicted but he keeps on staying. and dalinar and sadeas are rival landlords but dalinar follows the alethi codes of landlording that say dont make your tenants do something you wouldnt be willing to do and he ends up offering kaladin and his neighbors apartments at deeply discounted rates in his downtown 30 story apartment buildings so he steals all of sadeas's tenants and sadeas is so mad. and then in oathbringer you find out that dalinar did like illegal landlord bullshit mostly until like 6 years ago after he went to rehab and got his life together and became, like, catholic or something

UPDATE MOVIE WAS ACTUALLY AMAZING IM SO HAPPY WITH IT. Animation? Gorgeous. Songs? All going in my playlist. Characters? Really fun, interesting, and likable. Fight scenes? Want to rewatch already. Pacing and plot? Held my interest and really well done. Actually good commentary on unrealistic expectations for girl group idols to be perfect goddesses and how that can be incredibly detrimental in a message that wasn’t too heavy handed or borderline racist to ALL Koreans and their culture? YEAAAAA UNEXPECTED BUT A WIN FOR ME, THE WORLD’S MOST ANNOYING ADVOCATE FOR IDOL MENTAL HEALTH. Looked up the director and went ‘ah that’s why, good for her🙂‍↕️’. If I’m going to get joy out of this hellscape of an industry I’m going to be god damn critical about it. Very related but fuck that Tarzan guy😌

I think Rhythm of War is my favorite Stormlight book but man. Oathbringer has so may moments that just stick with me.
