I personally don't really see Cora as a parental figure/dad, if only cuz OP is usually rather overt about those sorts of relationships (Zeff, Bellmere, Whitebeard, etc).

I like them being this weird, nebulous sort of deal that isn't defined by nuclear family roles. Law never refers to him as a father figure or even an older brother. He's just Cora-san.

Law HAD A DAD who was nurturing and loving and patient and taught him a lot of stuff, and Cora is very, VERY different from that, (and also not old enough to be Law's dad either-)

In the end, I just don't like people always needing to put "found family" into hardcut nuclear family roles. Human connection is more complex than that.

A belated happy @oofurixmas to @hadesdancehall ! Your prompts of something Tosei related, KazuJun, and a historical AU immediately sent me down a research rabbit hole and this is where I landed: 17th century KazuJun at a buddhist temple skipping taking a break from afternoon chores. More thoughts under the cut!

Sorry that it took me so long, but I hope you like it!!

So, my very first thought with "historical" and "Tosei" was to read up on the history of Christianity in Japan, with the idea of maybe involving the Nishiura nine in some exchange between religions. Then I found out about hidden Christians during the Tokugawa era and somehow landed on Kazuki and Junta taking shelter at a Buddhist temple. Originally I planned to have Hanai and some of the others in the background but didn't want to take even longer than I already did :')

The pose is inspired by Francesco Hayez's painting The Kiss, mostly because I liked it, but since the original is about the Italian unification, I figured it also kinda fit with the Tokugawa era setting.
