Happy pride everyone 🏳️‍🌈⭐️

To celebrate a little, I decided to do a redraw of my first ever marauders fanart, which just so happened to also be my first real partaking in pride ! Having previously been pretty quiet about my identity, I’m really proud to now have enough confidence to share this with you. I hope you all get to enjoy this month as well, no matter how small the celebration 🤗 ( and for those out there that unfortunately don’t get that chance, just know that you’re loved and appreciated regardless ❤️ ).

As for the drawing in itself, I’m actually a lot happier with the result than I would’ve expected ( even though some parts were absolutely torturous to finish 🥲 ). I must’ve changed some probably insignificant details a hundred times, but honestly I think it was worth it 😭 Oh and just for the sake of comparaison, you can find the original drawing as well, it’s the first image ( + a questionable bonus that was added with the post at the time 😂 ).

Remus as a father is the cutest thing. He's so proud, so excited and happy, so dorky. He's like an overgrown puppy. Look at this:

There was a bang on the front door. Everyone’s head turned toward it. Fleur came running out of the kitchen, looking frightened; Bill jumped to his feed, his wand pointing at the door; Harry, Ron, and Hermione did the same. Silently Griphook slipped beneath the table, out of sight. “Who is it?” Bill called. “It is I, Remus John Lupin!” called a voice over the howling wind. Harry experienced a thrill of fear; what had happened? “I am a werewolf, married to Nymphadora Tonks, and you, the Secret-Keeper of Shell Cottage, told me the address and bade me come in an emergency!” “Lupin,” muttered Bill, and he ran to the door and wrenched it open.

Remus, that number is for emergencies only. Remus. Remus, please, this is a war. You've given Harry anxiety. You've given Bill anxiety.

He's so excited that he loses all control of his limbs and of the volume of his voice. Once Bill opens the door, he falls over the threshold and raises his voice:

Lupin fell over the threshold. He was white-faced, wrapped in a traveling cloak, his graying hair windswept. He straightened up, looked around the room, making sure of who was there, then cried aloud, “It’s a boy! We’ve named him Ted, after Dora’s father!”

Between the wind and his excitement, I can't help but picture him looking like a mess. That slight pause where he takes the time to make sure of who's in the cottage just makes it worse: he has the forethought to check who's there to hear the news, but he still can't help "crying aloud". He's too excited! And the detail about naming him after Dora's father? He just can't wait to share everything about his newborn. He's been alive for five minutes and everyone needs to know everything that has happened since then.

Hermione makes sure she's understood correctly, since Remus has kind of skipped a few steps, and he's still incapable of keeping his voice down:

Hermione shrieked. “Wha—? Tonks—Tonks has had the baby?” “Yes, yes, she’s had the baby!” shouted Lupin.

He can't stop repeating himself either, like he can't quite believe it:

“Yes—yes— a boy,” said Lupin again, who seemed dazed by his own happiness.

Remus is the most mild-mannered, careful character we see. He's very careful about his body, his movements and his voice. In Prisoner of Azkaban, he stops himself from touching Harry and keeps a respectful (professional) distance. However, here he's so happy and excited, and so thankful towards Harry, that he doesn't hesitate before hugging him:

He strode around the table and hugged Harry; the scene in the basement of Grimmauld Place might never have happened.

He keeps repeating himself and he seems incapable of finishing his own sentences:

“You, yes, of course—Dora quite agrees, no one better— ”

“Thank you, thank you, Bill”

It's just too sweet. He's all over the place, excited, beaming, proud. He keeps sharing everything there is to share about Teddy, and I find it adorable that both Dora and Remus think that Teddy looks like each other. They're just seeing the person they love most on this new little person they absolutely adore:

“To Teddy Remus Lupin,” said Lupin, “a great wizard in the making!” “’Oo does ’e look like?” Fleur inquired. “I think he looks like Dora, but she thinks he is like me. Not much hair. It looked black when he was born, but I swear it’s turned ginger in the hour since. Probably blond by the time I get back. Andromeda says Tonks’s hair started changing color the day that she was born.” He drained his goblet. “Oh, go on then, just one more,” he added, beaming, as Bill made to fill it again.

He even promises pictures! I didn't remember that. That's so sweet, he really wants to show his son off:

“Good-bye, good-bye— I’ll try and bring some pictures in a few day’s time— they’ll all be so glad to know that I’ve seen you— ” He fastened his cloak and made his farewells, hugging the women and grasping hands with the men, then, still beaming, returned into the wild night.

Look at his way of speaking: during this whole scene, he keeps repeating himself and speaking in short sentences that interrupt each other. It's adorable. And the ending! All boundaries and limitations he puts on himself regarding how he interacts with the world (his manner of speaking, his careful movements) are gone. His happiness and excitement are so strong he can't contain them, it's like he's overflowing.

That part actually pays off right before the Battle of Hogwarts, where Fleur asks him how Teddy is and we find out he took a picture of his son with him to a war and died with it in his pocket:

“Here, I’ve got a picture!” Lupin shouted, pulling a photograph from inside his jacket and showing it to Fleur and Harry, who saw a tiny baby with a tuft of bright turquoise hair, waving fat fists at the camera.

(He's also shouting again. Part of it is the awkwardness of the Weasley family drama —a family he's taken care of before and is close to—, but it's also super sweet that he gets clumsy and loud in every scene where Teddy's mentioned.)

It's lovely that fatherhood does him so much good. It tears down all the walls he's built and it makes him happy. He's such a proud, happy, dorky father. He'd place Teddy's drawings on the fridge and go to every match to loudly cheer for him. Every milestone would have him telling everyone how brilliant and special Teddy is. He'd be unbeareable in the most adorable way.

We never see him happier than he is in Deathly Hallows and it's because of how much he loves Dora and Teddy. It's adorable.

when i look up a knitting term, the last thing I want is an ai overview. I want a 60+ year old woman with no understanding of lighting or helpful camera angles who still manages to give the most concise and clear explanation of how to execute purl 2tog through the backloop. ai summary fuck off, where is phyllis?

- threaten to burn a gay couple’s house down for two years and openly calling them slurs

- actually do burn down the house

- kill their dog and place it’s skull and harness on top of the couple’s mailbox for them to see

- shoot and kill one of them while they are crying over seeing their murdered dog’s remains while you are also calling them homophobic slurs

During both Pride and Indigenous History Month nonetheless.

this is weird why are you fantasising about this... even ignoring how the majority of the characters are pro-fascist in their universe, this is really strange.

yes, art is political but this isn't politics? this doesn't do anything to help, it barely even addresses the problem. as I said, this is a weird fantasy with no donation links attached, no resources/information attached, not even a message of support to people that are currently RISKING THEIR LIVES at these protests.

also, it's so unbelievably off-putting that youd mention your ships as well??? maybe I could understand if you addressed this like "the marauders fought against fascism, you should too," but instead you're talking about quote, your "power couples" 😭 that just convinces me more this is a fantasy where you're projecting your desire to help onto characters that don't exist to either absolve yourself of responsibility to help or to turn it into something more digestible for yourself. maybe this is less scary if you imagine regulus on the front lines 😭

Need a Marauders fic where they protest ICE stat. Regulus and Lily are leading this charge for (my canon - yours can differ) Indian!James and Latina!Mary. Evan and Barty get arrested, and lawyer power-couple Narcissa and Alice get them out.

I'm too scared to write my own fanfiction, but I think I might write this because I want this to exist, and I want my version of the Marauders to be more.

IM BACK! ✨🙇🏻‍♀️ I know lately I’ve been absent from my socials. And I’m preparing a content to talk a bit about this with open heart! I needed some time and that’s it. It was refreshing and so good for my mental health.  Briefly speaking, I was again entering on a exhaustion on making art everyday. And constantly doing it was turning really harmful for me. I was starting to get anxious, and with that a burned out sensation was starting to grow. And for a person that had a burn out stress over and over again, we start to be expert on this topic (sadly). After realizing that I might have a mental break over it I stepped back and took a time off. (Still was doing commissions)  Well, that’s it!  Hope you guys like this Sirius Black… kind of representing a bit of my art frustrations! 😂 and hope you guys don’t abandon me yet!
