Agreed. This kid was the wrong choice because he looks prepubescent when he’s supposed to be 16 and a warrior. Mind you, he’s supposed to be “adept with his sword”. It’s just not convincing. Sorry.
Also, I have this very bad feeling that Daeron will be another closet TB because, in the eyes of these fucked up writers, a male TG character is only “good” if he is played by a ftm.
This fandom is so fucking disgusting! I already see some people call Daeron „Princess Daeron“ or I have seen anther comment calling him “Aemond’s little Sister” just because the actor is trans (Aemond is only mentioned here because there was a pic of Ewan next to the one of the young actor who plays Daeron to show the similarities). But like wtf??? How can people be so disrespectful? He’s just a kid who’s probably very excited to play in such a big show! I imagine it’ll probably only get worse in time…
The fandom is definitely disgusting, but I still think that casting this actor for Daeron was a bad and short-sighted decision. Condal and everyone else know what's going on in the fandom, and they're hiring this super young boy for a role in the green team and he's also transgender? They literally throw him under the bus.

For the most part, Rhaenyra was a victim of her own stupidity and hubris.
Re last anon
Rhaenyra fans have victim fetish. they want her to be THE sole victim of hotd even tho she was more privileged than most women in westeros including the queen btw
Rhaenyra had more privileges than not only westerosi women but also most men. Her being the only victim does not make sense because even within her family she was more pampered than her younger half siblings by their father. Though Viserys botched up, he still liked her and her bastard children enough for them to be heirs over his own trueborn ones or his brother before that.
The trouble with TB Stans is that they want her to be the only one. As TG, I can acknowledge Rhaenyra was a victim without disregarding that young Alicent, Helaena and teen Aegon were also victims. But TB Stans become red with anger if we acknowledge other victims of circumstances who are not Rhaenyra. And therein lies the problem.
I completely agree.
TB Rhaenyra stans often can't handle acknowledging that others are victims as well. I've even seen some say that the Strong boys aren't victims because she loved them. And yeah she loved them but she also put their lives on the line just for a nice fuck. Her choosing Harwin over any one else put her children in harms way. She could've picked one of Laenors cousins, but nope she picked the guy who looked nothing like her, Laenor, or Rhaenys which shows it isn't Baratheon genes.
I also can acknowledge Rhaenyra was a victim in many ways. But not the only one, nor was she the one I'd day got the worst hand dealt to her.
A TG breathes that were sad Aegon got hurt and they respond with how Rhaenyra was usurped. We say how Viserys raped Alicent and they jump through hoops trying to say he didn't and say Rhaenyra was groomed by Daemon.
No matter what it always goes back to Rhaenyra being a "bigger victim". And honestly it's annoying. I've said this plenty of times but I'll say it again. I didn't hate Rhaenyra, I thought she was under developed and stale in the show, but I didn't hate her. She just wasn't my favorite character. It was her stans pulling shit like this that made me hate her. Because at some point I saw a Rhaenyra post and I got so upset at the logic of it.
All in all, Rhaenyra was a victim, but she wasn't the only one.

Yup. Daemon is the only interesting TB character, and I love Matt so much. Condal and Hess have wasted him (and Daemon) for some bs lesbian fanfic that no one wants.
I am a greenie but i kind of feel bad for Matt Smith sometimes. The way he is treated in SOME fandom spaces, even by Ryan and Hess is just sad. Daemon by no means is my fav but Matt has played him well given the script. the vitriol against his looks is too much sometimes. The same happens to other actors arguably to tg actors more (hello Fabien, Ewan and Tom.) They all deserve better actually. better fandom, BETTER WRITERS.
Oh SAME !!!
I think in some point his family got harassed on social media and they had to shut down the comment section of their posts.
Regarding Ryan and Sarah, writers ego are sensitive and they can be vindictive. There was a show in my country that I used to love whe I was a kid, and the actress playing the main villain created a catchphrase tha got so popular. And the writer didn't like that, so he made the character mute for several episodes. Wouldn't suprise me after that scene in which Daemon gathers the crown for Viserys, that Matt improvised and people loved, they get their ass hurt and try to punish him by traping him the whole season in one story arc.

🤢 I would rather watch a cow give birth.
The conceptual episode was confirmed by Ryan himself to be writing by Sarah and focused on characters.
Guys get ready for the nasty rhaenicent fanfic ever made.

Here’s the thing: I don’t think HOTD season 3 will have a lot of battles and dragons (which are the main draws for the general audience) because a lot of that budget is being funneled into the other cash grab (Harry Potter reboot). HBO does not have bottomless pockets, as seen with the abysmal season 2 where the dragons changing in size (sometimes in the same scene). If season 3 isn’t perfect, then Condal and Hess should be worried.

I have been telling you guys that the biggest Ips Warner has -for their streaming service - is Asoaif and Harry Potter. And for their movies is DC.
Ryan and Sara will be so fucked if hotd S3 fails as we expect it does. Do you D&D fall was ugly. You have see nothing yet.

One thing about Hotd is that they don't deserve the cast. TGC will devour every scene he's been given, even though the script is shit. I know that for sure.

“They absolutely abhor Daemon as well”
Difference is Daemon’s a predator who sexually abused his niece, Criston on the other hand was an actual victim in both the tv and book.
Rhaenicent should be treating Criston with the same amount of indifference as they treat Harwin. They don’t like Rhaewin but still appreciate Harwin for looking after Rhaenyra and being the only decent man in her life.
That’s what Criston is to Alicent, he’s her Harwin but also 100x better than Strong because he didn’t commit high treason with his lover THREE times in the span of a decade!
Instead they hate Criston for literally existing.
Harwin also doesn't question/disagree with Rhaenyra like Daemon and Criston have.
Criston also disagrees with and challenges Alicent in s2, on top of also being her hugest loyalist in the castle.
There's this aspect of independence that Criston has that irks the shippers. He's not a dumb follower, loves Alicent down but also demands respect and common sense when it comes to it.
Bottom line is these people called shippers are living in a fantasy where their queens need no men, should not be questioned under any circumstance, and give up all the barriers in the way of their relationship which includes their own children.
But, yes. Criston gets the most heat for being the most dedicated man that also has the dignity to demand accountability and respect from the woman he loves.
At least that's what I think.

“We're all about to be sexist and transphobic who just aren't media literate…”
Don’t forget to add homophobic. We’ll all be labeled as homophobic for rightfully shitting on their Rhaenicent/Mysaria bs.

Have you seen this?
Yes ...

Some of it has been confirmed.
The funniest shit is that they think that this is their masterpiece. They legitimately believe that they're making art - High Art - with this season.
Watch ... When this flops and the pitchforks come out, it will break them ... especially Condal.
You're about to hear some wild and stupid shit from the showrunners and actresses when this hits like shit sucked into a fan.
We're all about to be sexist and transphobic who just aren't media literate and don't understand the genius of what they're 'tying' to say about society.
Look for articles saying how the fans of Fantasy is the reason that Fantasy can't succeed on television.

Show Rhaenyra is such a dull character that she has to be inserted into every side characters’ story to stay relevant.

Helena and Dreamfyre will meet Rhaenyra in season 3 in an original scene that never existed... THIS is the moment we'll get to see Helaena with her dragon... and who wants to bet they added this to show that 1) Helaena isn't even upset that Rhaenyra's side is responsible for killing her kid, she's been pretty okay with this whole war actually, not driven mad in her room or anything 2) Rhaenyra is an ultimate in-tuned dragon whisperer who breaks lore by bonding with every dragon she meets, further reinforcing she is *most* Targaryen of them all and deserves to rule and save the world 3) Helaena talks to Rhaenyra about how the throne was hers to take and everything was destined to go this way so everything in the war so far was totally justified including her entire family now being basically destroyed 4) Helaena doesn't blame Rhaenyra at all for her kids lives being destroyed and that's entirely disconnected to the reason she eventually will take her own life
Talk about toxic butterflies 🫠

Rhaenicent is the worst thing that ever happened to this show. What should have been a non canon fanfic pairing has instead become a fucking road map for the writers. 😫

I won't be surprised if this end up right 💀
I hate that I can't not even argue this is nonsense anymore because S2 Alicent scenes happen.

“Daemon has no right to cheat on Rhae Rhae.”
And yet, the writers will have her cheat on him with Alicent and Mysaria (it’s all but confirmed at this point) because…girlboss? What will it take these writers to get that the majority of the audience hates both Rhaenicent and Rhaenyra/Mysaria?
Let's be honest, Condal removed Nettle from the story simply because 1. Daemon has no right to cheat Queen Rhae Rhae 2. Rhae Rhae cannot be a racist. If they had left Nettle in the story, it would have cast a shadow on the holy queen. I wonder if there are any comments from Condal about Nettle. I've never noticed them. It seems like he's just ignoring the character's existence. I mean, at least he spoke about Maelor, or rather, he justified himself.
Oh definitely.
I couldn't agree more to this. Honestly.
In the marketing time for S2, a interview try to ask him about Nettles, and he shut her down. Like you can see how his face get angry and he was holding back. He was so tactless. Most producers would try to give a vague answer for not to be rude. But he just denied to answer. You can see here:
Clearly the subject piss him off a lot . What makes me believe George pressed his ass about it a lot. And it becomes a "sensitive" subject for him that he was not even able to provide a answer. And I think back then, that should have been a sign.

I mean, not many of the dresses are really good, even Alicent’s. There are only a few dresses that stand out—Alicent’s first green dress, for example—but many are just so bad. Helaena’s, for example, are uniquely awful in that they don’t fit her. They are shrunken and make her look…top heavy (no other way to describe it).
reg. Alicent dressesー hate that TB keeps yelling like crazies that she gets the best dresses in the show which is a stretch: costumes like writing are not the best parts of HotD but the reason rhaenyra is dressed more harshly is because they changed her character to punk rock princess in the show.
In the books, she loved to dress richly because she was spoiled as fuck princess who loved to eat and party but the show made her a martyr girlboss so her costumes reflect that. It is similar to cersei and sansa dresses in later GoT seasons where they were dressed more warriorlike because it was considered strong. The writers and costume department think they are doing rhaenyra a favour because they make her look like a strong queen (lol.)
Thats why they are dressing her punk strong because her character in the show demands it, not because of alicent or olivia. Team b**ck fans are too obsessed with hating on olivia to understand common sense rational. For them, every crap thing on the show is alicents responsibility and every bad thing off the show is olivias fault ... their obsession is foul fr besides alicent is well dressed maybe maybe because she is the queen? She also hails from one of the richest houses in the seven kingdoms!
Its almost like TB are jealous because olivia looks beautiful in anything she wears but emma darcy is also stunning I dont see the need to compare the two but for some reason TB are always fixated on alicent dresses / beauty and youth of olivia. They are annoying and give me creeps.
Anon I HEAR YOU! You are spiting facts and honestly I'm living for it.
In book Rhaenyra dressed flamboyant and in the highest of fashion. Alicent in book did this as well though in a more conservative way because of her faith. Both were considered the ones to watch for fashion because they both made statements with heir clothes that they couldn't say out loud.
Also the hate isn't only on Olivia, they also hate on Emily and compare her dresses to Millys. Saying how unfair it is that Alicent's look so good only for Rhaenyra’s too look horrible. And I have to say this, that's not Emily or Olivia's faults. TBs will throw hate at them over this when hey quiet literally have no control over what each dress looks like beyond if it's revealing and their not comfortable. That's on Condom and Mess as well as the design and costume studio, though for all we know they may just be doing what those two morons told them to do.
Also yeah Rhaenyra’s dresses are underwhelming to say the least. Her best dress don't compare to Alicents. And I said this in a post before but I have never seen a TG use one of Rhaenyra’s dresses only changing it to green, but I have seen TBs use Alicents dresses and change them to black or red, saw one yesterday on Pintrest of one of her S2 dresses changed to red. In that post I talked about how some TBs act like Rhaenyra’s dresses are better than Alicwnts which isn't the case because of the reason I just said. If TGs were doing this maybe the argument would work but we don't never have and never will.
And you're right on how they want to give a more Punk Rock vibe to Rhaenyra. I remember seeing a short (I don't use Tiktok because I can't be bothered) of a guy talking about this. He's a Asoiaf YouTuber and knows pretty much everything there is to know about that world. He said how a lot of people are hating on Rhaenyra’s dresses without taking into account how the show runners are obviously going for a more tomboy vibe to Rhaenyra and contrasting hat with a more feminine Alicent. And I think this argument has merit and should be talked about more but not for the reasons you think.
Rhaenyra being a tomboy shows yet again the show runners believe feminity is a weakness. That Rhaenyra needs to be strong and powerful. Which is such a sexist thing to do when you take into account how often Ryan and Sara say this is a feminist show. Feminity isn't a weakness, it can be someone greatest strength. Take Cersei for example, she uses her beauty and Feminity to be lethal and dangerous. Luring her enemies in before they even realize she has them in her iron tight grip. They could've done something like this with Rhaeyra, it is actually in my mind extremely Canon for her to do. But instead we got Rhaenyra holding swords and being a Tomboy for no reason other than making her seem strong which it doesn't. It makes at least me feel like she's trying to mimic Daemon, not because she loves him but because she wants to be him.
If I'm honest I like Sansa's later season dresses quite a bit. It flowed with her development. But with Cersei I didn't, I felt it was out of place and too forced. I felt Cersei would instead lean more into her feminity. This is also how I feel about Rhaenyra, Rhaenyra was a Fashionista, she wasn't a sword weilding princess. And them making her a Tomboy should've been pur first warning on what this shit show was gonna become.
All in all Anon, TBs need to shut up, because sure Rhaenyra’s dresses aren't the best, but at least the show runners and 90% of the Fandom isn't saying she needs humbled after showing her be raped.
