As most of you might know, this is a scene that didn’t appear in the manga or the 99 anime. It happens right after Zeno’s explanation on Zoldyck business policy (”We don’t kill for fun.”) What possessed Chrollo to bring up his deal with Illumi here, or at all? As Zeno states, it is irrelevant to this particular situation. The weirdest part however is Chrollo’s almost uncharacteristic reaction at the end: before brushing it off there’s visible and audible disappointment. Is he that bummed out about not dying? Or did he just realize that Illumi isn’t personally available to him and his merry murder band?

tldr; All I see in these 25 seconds of added content is a pining mob boss who was just lowkey informed (by his love interest’s grandpa) that It’s Never Going To Happen.
