In Paper Mario, most NPCs have their interesting or relevant dialogue focused almost entirely within the chapter in which they appear. Going back to completed chapters and talking to NPCs there may show new dialogue, but it is often brief since the majority of players are not expected to go out of their way to see it.

However, Lily from Flower Fields is one of the exceptions, whereby going back and talking to her in Chapter 7 or 8 despite there being no story reason to do so will cause her to say the relatively lengthy soliloquy seen in the footage.
