okay it’s come to my attention that absolutely NONE OF YOU know ANYTHING about how cutie marks work. let me say this simply. a cutie mark isn’t a job being assigned, it’s a special TALENT OR SKILL that the pony enjoys. Most of the time it has a directly transferable job for that skill, like if you enjoy baking and are super good at it WOW! baker. If you are really good at writing and telling stories, author. However, there are some cutie marks that could go multiple ways.

twilight sparkle has exceptional magic ability, so she became a scholar, but she could really do anything that required a good magic skill. same with rainbow dash, her weather controlling job isn’t directly linked to her cutie mark, but it does fit the bill for the job.

i was posed the question of what would a murderer pony’s cutie mark be and wouldn’t everyone know. NO. if somehow murder were to be a special skill, the cutie mark might be something like a knife or a shovel. other ponies might just assume you’re good at cooking or gardening. now with cutie marks like apple jacks, their family has a ‘green thumb’ kind of deal so obviously the cutie mark would be hereditary.

so, the reason i made this post. walter white pony’s cutie mark would NOT be blue crystals. it would be a CHEMISTRY FLASK.

That is, until the first time he watched Eddie eat an ice cream cone-- chasing a drip up his wrist with a slow swipe of his tongue, absentmindedly sucking his pinkie finger clean-- and all Steve could think about was how desperately he missed the taste of ice cream.

When a small kid decks their shit and starts screaming, it's apparently useful to ask them "are you more scared or more hurt?" because they might actually pause the shrieking to understand that adults might not automatically know what they are feeling, and that they can and should use words to communicate whether they need emotional support or medical attention.

I wonder if it could be applied to tumblr. Asking shrieking people "are you disagreeing with what OP said, or are you mad about the way they worded it?"

Dustin thinks he’s about to get his ass kicked but it’s really just Tommy asking what’s going on with Steve because he hasn’t been to school in a couple days. Dustin is just like, “Why do you care?”

“I don’t know,” Tommy snaps. “Maybe because I’m his friend?”

That’s certainly not true but Dustin tells him anyways, “He’s got the flu.”

every once in a while Body Hair discourse returns and i simply must chime in with something. if your body hair is long/thick in a way that genuinely makes you uncomfortable (which is fair) you can trim it. it’s not any different than the hair on your head. you can use scissors, clippers, a razor with a guard on it, whatever. my leg hair grows really long and it’s uncomfortable so i trim it slightly shorter with a trimmer.

this isn’t really a comment on the western beauty standards that surround body hair. obviously, those standards favor the hairless. this is a comment on the practical reality of being a human being with a body. you don’t have to buy into the perfectly-hairless beauty standard or ignore your own comfort. free yourself. how you maintain your body hair is no different than how you maintain anything else on your body—please do challenge your personal relationship to beauty standards, but like, this isn’t a situation where you either have to shave every last hair off of your body or Never Touch That Hair Ever Again
