The Relationship of Éomer and Éowyn

Éomer and Éowyn’s relationship is one that, in the films at least, isn’t featured as heavily as we should have liked it to be; but what little we did see certainly spoke a lot. Foremost, I think the relationship between the orphaned siblings was very pure and the model sort of sibling affection. Growing up in Rohan, even for those of royal lineage, was quite harsh, and the deaths of their parents must have been a horrible loss to them. Both Éowyn and Éomer loved their uncle and cousin dearly too, but then Wormtongue’s betrayal resulted in the loss of both; so in the end, the only true constant they had was each other.
