I am incredibly excited because I commissioned this beautiful piece of art from the very talented @cinnapiss !! We actually brainstormed a lot of this story together and I'm just so happy I can finally share with the world this collaboration!

the parallel of these two cutscenes is just so...... OOOOOUUGGHHHGHG 😭

I thought about this for a while now but I've always thought of how both P and Romeo were portrayed as Christ in the game, being that they were both some type of savior to Krat. I think the only difference between them is that Romeo *wanted* to help and save people but he was not in the position to do that exactly. Although he was bound by the Grand Covenant, Romeo still did what he could and even used his whole being the King of Puppets thing to control them (I still don't get why he became the King and if he was even aware of becoming one but I've always wondered why it HAD to be him, as well as yes I know it's not only because he's their King that he was able to control them, just to be clear) meanwhile P is more like put into this position of being a savior. In my opinion P probably didn't understand much at the beginning because he literally just woke up and most of the things he did was either to defend himself or to obey the people around him. He could only learn from them and listen but I do believe he started to want to help and save Krat himself by the end. Another thing to this is how Romeo was first believed to be the culprit of the Puppet Frenzy, I'm not religious myself but it reminds me of how Jesus was first arrested then later condemned to death despite him not doing anything wrong at all (Correct me if I'm wrong). In other words, Romeo only wanted to help but in the end he was seen as the main culprit and was heavily misunderstood. Not to mention, both these poses from the main game itself and the DLC is literally him getting crucified in a way. But that concludes this theory, I'm definitely not the only one who has noticed this so if any of y'all would like to share your thoughts about it I'm interested in reading em! I just find the religious imagery in this game ever so fascinating! :3c

EDIT:

I wanted this to be a Romeo centric post but it has been brought to my attention that it took 3 in game days to reach the end, and by the dawn of the third day we get the "Rise of P" ending, where he's basically free from the puppet strings and has *awakened* just like Jesus. I have noticed that the game does let u know what time of day it is but I didn't think there was more to it. This is literally boggling my mind right now I am like pleasantly informed by this information, I fucking love the religious imagery in this game and cannot wait to find more
