SO, about Swedish translations of movie titles.

Some had to be inventive, because literal translations just wouldn't work. Jaws is my favourite example. We called this 1977 film "Hajen", or "The Shark". Because "Jaws" would, through a grammatical fluke, translate into "käkar", also meaning "jawing".

And "Jawing" is slang for eating or munching on something.

So, imagine the summer blockbuster of the man-eating shark, terrorizing a New England vacation resort
