FRENCH BUTTON-DOWN SHIRT

As I mentioned a few posts back, I had worked on a project in art school years ago. This shirt was one of my first successful samples from it. The words are in French, so I ended up giving a teal-colored version to an incredible musician (Phoenix’s Thomas Mars).

The shirt is actually my brother’s, but it doesn’t fit him anymore. I remember influencing him back then to get it. It sure is nice to reminisce, because he never takes my stylish advice anymore.

Whenever I travel to a foreign country, I make it a point to return with pins or patches. In certain ways, you’re able to remember a memory based on the souvenir. Using that concept and creating a pillow out of it gives home an entirely different meaning.

I just like how the colors work together on this piece. Unlike the other design, this one uses a small embroidered patch to keep things clean in front (with a surprise at the back). Ingenious!
