what do you think of the relationship between yasu and miu? think he's using her to forget about nana?

Hello anon and sorry for the late reply, I’m really busy in this period! ^-^

I love Yasu and Miu relationship, in my opinion it’s the most mature relationship of the manga along with Junko and Kyosuke. And I don’t think he’s using her to forget about Nana because Yasu is definitely not that kind of man. From the beginning of the manga Yasu has always been the mature guy who would have to take care about the other guys and their problems and explain them how the cruel world works. Yasu is the guide of many people, but he actually has nobody to talk to when he’s the one who needs suggestions or simply needs to ramble about something. When he met Miu I think he finally felt relieved to have somebody to whom he could make mature conversations. He admitted himself that Miu’s room (where they usually spent time together) is the only place that made him feel at peace. 

On the other hand, Miu had a lot of issues before meeting Yasu (she used to cut/harm herself because she feels insecure and alone), but after they started dating she said to Hachi that she wouldn’t have harmed herself anymore because she knew this would have hurt Yasu and she didn’t want to give him sorrow or something else to be worried about.  Yasu is perfect for Miu because he gives her strenght and courage and Miu is perfect for Yasu because it’s the only one who makes him feel at peace and he feels he can have a future with her. Let’s not forget that the only person in front of whom Yasu has taken off his sunglasses is Miu (and he also asked her to take them off): we all know that Yasu never takes off his sunglasses because they are like a protection against the world for him, so the fact he trust Miu at the point to feel at ease to take off his sunglasses explains a lot in my opinion. I’m so glad they have found each other ❤️

They also have things in common, like the fact they don’t see love as something passionate that consumes you like many other characters did (Hachi, Nana, Ren, Nobu...), they don’t believe in that kind of romance we only see in movies. They are very rational persons and they tend to see life and feelings with a certain detachment.

In the present time we have seen that Yasu and Miu are still together despite all the things that happened, so I think that if Yasu was just using her to forget about Nana, once Nana had disappeared he wouldn’t have had anymore a reason to use Miu so he would have left her. Instead he continued dating her for the next 6 years, so I think the feeling between them is true love.  Last but not least, I also love their interaction because they are funny. The first funny thing about them is their appearance: Miu is so small and delicate while Yasu is so tall and looks like a skinhead punk lawyer who secretly works for Yakuza XD Then they also have funny conversations and gags in the manga which I appreciate a lot.
