The warily look in his eyes was noticed, though the shorter(and furrier) woman kept the garment out for him to take regardless. As he takes it, she sighed with some relief as her clawed hand returns to her side. Good. Now she can look at him without feeling like she's disrespecting him - even if that wasn't entirely the case. Zeza folds her claws together now, an idle swish of her stub tail as she looks upon him with curiosity. ❝Well my 'kind' likes to be respectful. I may have fur on my body, but that won't stop me from being arrested for nudity.❞ She speaks softly, her body adjusting a little bit to regain some kind of 'elegance' she liked to have around strangers - even if she would stumble slightly due to lack of balance. ❝We are on the shores near the Niben river. Behind me is the Imperial city. They don't take kindly to 'naked' strangers, mind. In the morning, I can bring you to a shop that sells clothes, but for now if you'd like we can go to my cabin. I have some clothes you can potentially borrow there.❞ She says softly, gesturing back to the cabin just outside the city.

He eyes the offered garment warily as if expecting it might lash out, eyes narrowed as he considers his next course of action. It would be better for him to attract less attention ideally and blending in was a good way to accomplish that. So eventually he reaches for the fabric and takes it gently, water seeping into the cloth from his damp scales, his hands fiddling with it for a moment. Azar recalls the way she was dressed, most of her form covered in comparison, so he adjusts the cloak to do the same. 

A solid gust of wind might disrupt his plan, but for now he’s finally clothed entirely, meeting her gaze curiously. Water drips from him as he tilts his head slightly, still puzzled by the fur coating her body. 

“ Your kind must be adamant about remaining covered up since you seemed unwilling to meet my gaze ” he comments, pausing before continuing. Adjusting to the air was just a little odd, but not impossible. His kind at one point had lived on land. “ Is it some odd custom? It would not work well where I am from, it would hinder our swimming too much ”  He looks beyond her at the moment, taking note of the array of lights from the village ahead. It was quiet thankfully, the two left alone for just a moment. Though it was possible for that to change quickly. “ Where are we specifically? We - I have been tasked to observe this land for a time ”

Head tilted slightly at the girls response. Zeza makes no attempt to get any closer. Instead, she lowers herself a little to her level a little bit in attempt to make herself look smaller - realizing maybe a little too late that her claws and teeth may look intimidating. ❝Of course not, little one. I won't tell a soul.❞ She admits, eyes shifting towards the door now. She remains silent a moment, before slowly taking a step forward. ❝My name is Zeza Moon-Stalker, by the way. I mean no harm. I promise.❞

"Oh-! It's not… my land…" Ludovica answers, and quickly wonders if that's a bad idea, as she is currently trespassing. In a last ditch effort to look less suspicious, she sheathes her knife, which she previously used to pick the lock to the rickety old cabin behind her.

She regrets putting the weapon away, however, as soon those sharp teeth and claws catch her eye. Fists clenched at her sides, she takes a wary step back. She'd never seen someone like this before, with those ears and golden eyes. From a distance it had looked to her like someone wearing a fancy pelt-

"You won't tell anyone I'm here, will you? I- I won't tell anyone you're here." She holds her own hand up in defense, bony and scuffed with dirt.

Golden eyes gleam a little in wonder, glancing up at the man as he spoke. Stub tail idly swished behind her as he knelt to her and cupped her fur cheek. Zeza leans into Halsin's touch, purring lowly in her throat as she does so. When she looks back at him, there's nothing but admiration and adoration in those eyes of hers. ❝And I, you. I'm glad to be with you, Halsin. You make me feel... Safe. Safer than I ever have.❞ She admits, leaning in to give him a kiss on his cheek.
