another feast, another hiding place to seek out behind the wooden pillars of the feasting hall - ever thankful for his mother's additions to the longhouse, dorren leans against the pillar carved with the features of his mother, the features of his family. their generation of bears added amongst the clan of wooden souls - if their ancestors didn't take on the image of bears in the woods, they surely stay settled in the longhouse with the pillars as their resting place.

a young lady begins to acoste him, questions and fluttering eyes with an abominable amount of perfume of roses begins to assault his senses - a forced smile is pushed onto his lips as he takes a sip of his wine to still any rude remarks that may befall the young woman, gaze wandering away from dull mousey hair to catch the lavender haze of a particular woman. a familiar woman. vida.

"sorry, my lady, i'm afraid . . . i'm afraid i have promised my night to another, i hope you find what you are looking for elsewhere." no eye conatact is made with the anonymous woman as his feet move before his thoughts, manouvering through the crowd until he stands before her. "had i known you'd be joining us, vida, i would have made more of an effort." and dorren returns to his relaxed composure, hardened northen features softening to a smirk.

face dunked into the wash bowl in his guest chambers of winterfell, dorren misses the soft knocking on the door and further muses the creaking of the entranceway as he lifts his head from the cool liquid - like a beast after swimming in the lake, he shakes his head and hair free of droplets brought on by his dip, causing the floor to become speckled around his feet. the tub behind him had long gone cold as he had spent well over two hours soaking, allowing his taut muscles to relax after training in the yard of the ancient fortress in the bitter cold.

running a hand across his face and up into his damp hair, he finally hears the presence of another in his room from the audible gasp and the drop of a tray - the clang startles the half-naked mormont and causes grey eyes to snap in the direction of the stark daughter, lips curling into a smirk at the sight.

"well well, didn't think you to be one for peeping on your guests, lady stark?"

announcing his presence to the lady strong as he entered her chambers in the keep was still something relatively new to him - some of the guards had even insisted on announcing him to his own sisters, it was practically unheard of back at bear island. a knock and a 'coming in' and that was it, but at the keep. formality over ruled.

"abby? are you here, my lady?" glancing back to the door, now closed completely from the prying ears of the kingsguard, he lets his shoulders relax. the trust from the royals and kingsguard was growing slowly, but there was still skepticism over the abrupt arrival to the keep early into the war. perching himself on her couches, he picks up a lone grape that had escaped from its stem as he eyes the surfaces around her room - from the neatly pressed linen on the bed to the stray undershirt on the sidetable by the door.

wait . . . navy undershirt. abby wouldn't have a need for such a thing, surely? popping the grape into his mouth, dorren makes quick work to move towards the table and lift up the shirt, huffing a laugh as he notices dacey's familiar handiwork stitched into the inside of the collar - dorren in golden embroidery.
