the vampire chronicles are a crazy series of books and i don’t blame anyone for not reading or liking them but it is really funny when show fans are like “these books are so unethical that engaging with them in anyway is unethical” like um. how do you think they came up with the show

one the things the show smooths over is louis and lestat’s role in claudia’s life. like yes they’re shitty parents but at least she’s a tragic abused orphan they saved from a fire. in the book that’s just a random baby who’s mom they kill and parade around the room before kidnapping her and turning her into a vampire (something’s thats in-universe super super questionable to do to anyone let alone a baby)
